Melbourne woman's marriage lasts just ONE hour after new husband's cruel first act

Daily Mail26-05-2025

An Australian woman has shocked radio listeners with her story of a wedding that ended in heartbreak - before the reception was even over.
Calling in to Nova's Late Drive with Ben, Liam & Belle, Kylie from Melbourne recounted the surreal moment her groom vanished just hours after they tied the knot, never to be heard from again - until she discovered he had been cheating on her with her own cousin.
'I had a really short marriage. It wasn't even 24 hours,' Kylie revealed.
'We got married and had a beautiful wedding. And he was gone for the reception.'
Kylie explained that the couple had been together for six years and, from the outside, looked like they were headed for a happy future.
The ceremony was picturesque, the photos perfect, and guests were ready to celebrate.
But as soon as the vows were exchanged and the camera shutters stopped clicking, her new husband simply disappeared.
'We had the ceremony, did the photos - he was beautiful during the photoshoot, he was the love of my life,' she said.
'And then he just disappeared. I didn't hear from him for months.'
Despite his absence, the wedding reception went ahead, with guests unaware of what had happened.
Kylie said she kept up appearances as best she could.
'Everyone was fine to stay and party the whole night - but I went back to my room by myself,' she said.
'He didn't want to be with me. He was seeing somebody else [the whole time], but he let us get married.'
The situation only got more painful in the days that followed, especially when relatives began calling to ask how the honeymoon was going or to congratulate the newlyweds.
'It was really hard, especially talking to family members [who called to ask about the new husband the next day],' Kylie said.
'But we laugh about it now.'
In an unbelievable twist, Kylie later found out who the 'other woman' was - her own cousin.
'He's with my cousin now - he was cheating on me with her,' she revealed.
'I don't see him or my cousin. That would be really awkward.'
Despite the betrayal, Kylie has managed to find some humour in the ordeal, and says her family hasn't let her live it down.
'My kids think it's hilarious - it's brought up all the time,' she said with a laugh.
When asked if she ever remarried, Kylie was quick to say 'no'.
Listeners were floored by the call, flooding the station's socials with shocked reactions.
And while her marriage may have been shorter than the average workday, Kylie's story has certainly made a lasting impression.

DJ Fat Tony, 58, looks loved-up with new husband Stavros Agapiou, 32, as they make first public appearance at Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition party after lavish wedding

DJ Fat Tony and new husband Stavros Agapiou looked loved-up on Wednesday as they made their first public appearance following their lavish London wedding. Tony, 58, showed off his impeccable style in a grey Prada jacket, teamed with matching trousers and black loafers. Stavros, 32, wore a tight fitting navy top and beige cargo shorts, completing the look with black Prada loafers. The pair looked happier than ever at the star-studded event, with Lady Amelia Windsor, Emma Weymouth and Trinny Woodall also in attendance. Held every year since 1769, the RA's Summer Exhibition celebrates contemporary art spanning mediums including painting, printmaking, film and photography. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. It is the world's oldest open submission exhibition, meaning anyone can submit their work to be considered for inclusion. When Tony wed Stavros at their star-studded nuptials last month the extravagance and attention to detail was clear for all to see. Tony and Stavros, who have been engaged since October 2023, made it official at the Welsh Chapel in Charing Cross (formerly the Limelight nightclub), before heading to the swanky Londoner Hotel for the glitzy reception. And no expense was spared for their special day as they treated their guests to flamboyant Greek dancing, drag acts and even gospel music. The wedding attracted some big names too including the likes of Gemma Collins , Davina McCall, Coronation Street 's Claire Sweeney and Kelly Osbourne . Tony had carefully picked the 19th-century church where he began his career when he was just 18. The Soho venue was a favourite spot for Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, George Michael and Bob Geldof. For the blessing Tony and Stavros Dior Homme suits while The King's Voices choir gave gospel renditions of I'll Be Loving You Always, Higher and Higher and You Got the Love. Even the couple's dogs were in attendance as ring bearers as they wore special wedding outfits themselves. Tony was also surprised with an unlikely wedding cake as he danced the night away with his new husband. In snaps shared by Tony's pals on social media, it was revealed that the wedding cake was far from an understated affair, with each layer boasting letters which spelt out the word 'c**t.' Another snap showed the pair flaunting their best dance moves at the reception after exchanging their vows. Following the ceremony, Tony also took to the stage alongside his new husband to thank the guests in attendance, with the stunning venue decorated with white roses for the occasion. For his special day, Tony was among the first to arrive at the chapel and was joined by singer Boy George as he prepared to exchange vows with his partner Stavros. The renowned music star, real name Tony Marnach, cut a very dapper figure in an all-black suit featuring a silver brooch. Stavros arrived not long after Tony, and opted for an all-white look, which was made up of a blazer, waistcoat and quirky shorts. Davina turned heads in a bright orange mini dress as she arrived to the chapel holding hands with her partner Michael Douglas. Kelly Osbourne opted for a black sleeveless dress while her locks were styled into a sleek bun for the day. Others in attendance included EastEnders stars Patsy Palmer and Jessie Wallace and fellow actress Jaime Winstone.
