The Fever hosted the previously winless Connecticut Sun at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday in what turned out to be a highly disappointing 85-83 loss for Indiana.
The Sun marked their first win of the season, improving to 1-5. The Fever, on the other hand, have fallen to 2-4 after their third straight loss.
Clark may not have been on the court for the game, but she was a very active figure on the bench throughout the contest.
At one point in the game, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year was seen having an animated discussion with a referee on the court. Clark clearly wasn't happy with how one particular call did not go in her team's favor.
The Fever cannot be faulted for a lack of fight in this one, though. After going down by as many as 16 points, Indiana came storming back in the fourth quarter. Clark was up on her feet on the bench as DeWanna Bonner hit back-to-back triples to give the Fever a 76-74 lead with less than four minutes remaining in the final frame.
Clark's behavior quickly grabbed the attention of fans on social media.

"Probably killing her to be on the sideline. Get healthy queen CC!" a comment on X read.
"need her so bad," said another.

"We need her back, this team sucks. You disappointed your fans once again," a disappointed supporter wrote.
"Can one player really have that big of an impact on a team? It's starting to look like it. Need her healthy and back on the floor," agreed another.
"Another L," commented a user.
Clark's participation from the bench clearly hasn't been enough to help the Fever win without her. The fact of the matter is that they need her back on the floor as soon as possible.

Kiki Iriafen named May WNBA Rookie of the Month
Kiki Iriafen named May WNBA Rookie of the Month The first month of the 2025 WNBA season is officially in the books. On Wednesday, the league its announced its awards for the month of May. Sure enough, the league's first Rookie of the Month in 2025 was none other than USC product Kiki Iriafen. Iriafen is eight games into her rookie season with the Washington Mystics. In her first month in the pros, she averaged a double-double, putting up 14.6 points and 10.0 rebounds per contest. Washington currently holds a record of 3-5 on the young season. After spending the first three years of her college career at Stanford, Iriafen transferred to USC for her senior season in 2024-2025. In her lone year with the Trojans, Iriafen averaged 18.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Teaming up with superstar Juju Watkins, she helped lead the Trojans to a Big Ten regular season title, a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and a trip to the Elite Eight. The Mystics selected Iriafen with the No. 4 overall pick in April's WNBA Draft. Obviously, it is still extremely early, but thus far, her professional career is off to an incredibly promising start.

Indiana Fever Get Good News Amid Caitlin Clark's Injury Absence
Indiana Fever Get Good News Amid Caitlin Clark's Injury Absence originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Fever are in the midst of a concerning injury dilemma at the moment. Caitlin Clark is expected to miss at least two more games with a quad injury, including Tuesday's contest against the Washington Mystics. Advertisement To make matters worse, backup guard Sophie Cunningham has also been ruled out for Tuesday's home game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The 28-year-old, who joined Indiana as a free agent during the offseason, had to be helped off the court in the fourth quarter of the Fever's loss to the Connecticut Sun. Cunningham aggravated a right ankle injury that kept her out of Indiana's first two games of the season, and it now remains to be seen how much time she will miss with this new issue. The silver lining for the Fever is that they still got some good news on Monday ahead of the Mystics game. This came in the form of veteran guard Sydney Colson, who was deemed healthy enough to suit up for Tuesday's contest. The two-time WNBA champion had to exit the game in the first quarter with a leg injury and was not able to return. Advertisement There was some doubt surrounding Colson's status after her injury scare, but it now appears that she will be able to play on Tuesday and continue filling in for Clark in the starting five. It is also worth noting that the Fever signed 5-foot-6 guard Aari McDonald on Monday via an emergency hardship exception, and she, too, is available to play against the Mystics.
