Sea search launched after Hong Kong man in rented kayak goes missing
Authorities received a report from a kayak rental company in Pak Lap, Sai Kung, at about 5pm, saying a male customer in his forties had not returned after heading out earlier in the day.
The man reportedly aimed to paddle to the remote and scenic Po Pin Chau, with plans to return the kayak by 4.30pm.
Concerned for his safety, company staff alerted authorities.
Police and the fire department launched a marine search. Rescue operations covered areas around Po Pin Chau, Jin Island, Bluff Island, Kau Sai Chau, and Tai Long Wan.
The man remained missing as of Sunday night.

Hong Kong worker dies after falling from 3-storey village house
A worker fell to his death while working on the rooftop of a three-storey Hong Kong village house on Wednesday, taking the number of industrial fatalities in July to 10, according to a concern group. Police said on Wednesday that the 44-year-old cleaning and maintenance worker was carrying out work on top of the house in Tai Lam Chung Tsuen before he fell and lost consciousness at about 3.20pm. Strangulation murder of 6-year-old boy stuns Malaysia
A six-year-old boy in Malaysia whose body was found buried in a shallow grave by a roadside in a district in Pahang last week died after being strangled, police said on Wednesday. His body was discovered two days later, following the arrest of his 36-year-old father.
