Jamie Lee Curtis on Reuniting with Lindsay Lohan for ‘Freakier Friday,' Her ‘The Bear' Emmy Nom and Stephen Colbert's ‘Late Show' Cancellation: ‘It's Awful'
'She has taught me so much,' Curtis told Variety's Marc Malkin on Thursday at the Las Culturistas Culture Awards at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. 'She has her team, where her two people would be standing on either side of a camera holding a big light. It's Lindsay lighting — that would have been good branding — they hold lights so that we look better. So, I've learned a lot from her already. We had a good time. We love each other.'

The original movie, based on Mary Rodgers' 1972 novel of the same name, follows mother-daughter duo Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) switching bodies. The new story features a 'multigenerational twist' that features Anna as a mom.
'It's a movie for today,' Curtis said of the second installment. 'It is a happy, nostalgic, funny, sweet, heartfelt, Disney movie right at the end of the summer. There haven't been a lot of movies for women, and this is a love letter to every mother, grandma, sister, cousin and daughter.'
Curtis and Lohan will be joined by returning cast members Chad Michael Murray, Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao. Additionally, 'The Acolyte' star Manny Jacinto, 'Never Have I Ever' breakout Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Sophia Hammons and Julia Butters will also appear in the sequel.
Andrew Gunn, who produced the first movie, is producing the sequel alongside former Disney executive Kristin Burr, with a script from 'Dollface' creator Jordan Weiss. Nisha Ganatra directs the film. Curtis, Nathan Kelly, Ann Marie Sanderlin and Lohan also serve as executive producers.
'Freakier Friday' is in theaters Aug. 8.
Curtis also talked about her recent and second Emmy nomination for her work as Donna on 'The Bear' following her win last year. 'I can't believe it,' Curtis said, adding, 'It's just beautiful. It's a beautiful show and I'm thrilled to be a part of it. I love it. I'm a fan of the show. I was a fan from the beginning and so I just love the stories they tell and the characters they create.'
As for the possibility of a Donna spinoff, Curtis insisted, 'Never, never.'
Just hours before the Las Culturistas Culture Awards carpet, it was announced that Stephen Colbert's 'The Late Show' show was being cancelled. 'It's bad,' Curtis offered. 'I'm excited that I will get to be on his show in about two weeks. I've never been on his show. I really like him. He's smart and funny and a lovely human. It's awful.'
The Las Culturistas Culture Awards air Aug. 5 on Bravo and next day on Peacock.

Oak Park, Illinois firefighters come to rescue snake gets stuck on CTA train
Back in 2006, Samuel L. Jackson starred in an action thriller called "Snakes on a Plane." In real life 19 years later, some Chicago Transit Authority 'L' passengers in Oak Park, Illinois, starred in a real-life situation of "snakes on a train." On Saturday, the Oak Park Fire Department was called to the Harlem/Lake Green Line terminal, on the boundary of Oak Park and Forest Park. A ball python named Lucius, after the Harry Potter character Lucius Malfoy, had gotten away from his owner and had gotten stuck inside the train's control panel. Firefighters were able to open the box, free Lucius, and return him to his owner — who happened to be dressed like a pirate. The Oak Park Fire Department posted on Facebook, "Not a typical rescue, but a memorable one for sure!"

Andy Sachs is back! Anne Hathaway shares 1st look at 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'
Anne Hathaway has officially reprised one of her chicest roles to date. The 42-year-old actress shared a first-look photo of herself in costume while filming The Devil Wears Prada 2. The photo, posted to Instagram on Monday, sees Hathaway in a pin-striped vest and matching trousers, which she paired with pointed-toe boots and a gold T-bar necklace. The Idea of You star shared a video on TikTok earlier that morning, with a subtle nod to the original film. Alongside the caption, 'Heading to work #dwp2,' Hathaway wears a blue sweater while brushing her teeth. Fans, of course, remember the famous cerulean blue monologue from the 2006 film. Confirmation that The Devil Wears Prada 2 is officially in the works came in June, when 20th Century Studios, the distributor for the original 2006 film, shared a 21-second clip on Instagram, which featured a pair of red stilettos with the devil's pitchfork as heels. The sequel is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2026. Based on the novel by Lauren Weisberger, the 2006 film follows recent journalism graduate Andy Sachs (Hathaway) as she's thrust into the fast-paced world of high fashion after becoming an assistant to Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep), the cutthroat editor in chief at Runway magazine. Streep earned an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Priestly, who was famously modeled after Vogue's former editor in chief Anna Wintour. Nearly 20 years later, the sequel will focus on Priestly as she deals with the changing tides in fashion journalism and the decline of traditional magazine publishing. The indomitable editor will be forced to confront former assistant Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt), a now ultra-successful executive for a luxury group with financing that could determine the future of Runway magazine. Hathaway, Streep and Blunt aren't the only stars reprising their roles in the sequel. Stanley Tucci, who played Priestly's stylish left-hand man in the original film, Tracie Thoms, who portrayed the best friend of Hathaway's character, and Tibor Feldman, the chairman of Runway's parent company, will also return. New additions to the cast, according to Variety, include Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet and Kenneth Branagh, who will portray the husband of Streep's character. Fashion, unsurprisingly, is at the forefront of the original beloved film. As Sachs grows more comfortable in her new position, so does her inclination to express herself sartorially. We soon see her swapping cerulean blue sweaters for head-to-toe Chanel. Fans of the original can expect standout, high-end style to play just as significant a role in the sequel. Production of The Devil Wears Prada 2 appears to be well underway, but Hathaway initially had low expectations of it ever coming to fruition. 'Probably not,' she told V Magazine in 2024. 'We all love each other, and if somebody could come up with a way to do it, I think we'd all be crazy not to. But there's a huge difference in the world now with technology, and one of the things about that particular story is it was about producing a physical object. Now with so much being digital, it would just be very different.'
