Nicola Peltz 'excited' as she shares major career update amid family rift rumours
Actor Nicola Peltz has confirmed the latest project in her career. She's expressed excitement over the opportunity, which is said to be giving her more experience behind the camera, as well as another starring role on screen.
Nicola, 30, has appeared in several films over the years, including Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014). It was announced last week that she will star in thriller Pretty Ugly and also serve as an executive producer, with it understood to be the first time she's held that position on a film.
It was reported just days ago that Nicola will star alongside Jazzy De Lisser and Mary Stuart Masterson in the "murder mystery". The film is said to be written and directed by Erica Dunton, who has previously worked on TV shows such as Ted Lasso, the Summer I Turned Pretty and Outer Banks.
The news was shared by Deadline and the outlet said that the film, set in North Carolina, centres on a mother and daughter, played by Nicola's co-stars. Their relationship "unravels" with the return of a "provocative makeup influencer," played by Nicola, amid a murder in the area.
Her co-star Mary, 59, whose previous credits include Fried Green Tomatoes (1991), posted about the project following the report about it. Her post on Instagram later prompted reaction from Nicola, who shared her excitement.
Mary wrote yesterday: "I'm slow to post these things, but I am so proud to be a part of this film. I had a (rather intense) ball down in Wilmington, NC with the most amazing crew and cast under the truly inspiring direction of Erica Dunton."
Further teasing over the upcoming film, Mary added: "I will have more to say and share about this magical experience later on… you are not going to believe what my movie daughter [Jazzy] and her new friend [Nicola] get up to…"
Her co-star Nicola has since reacted. She wrote beside a pink heart emoji in the comments section this morning: "Mary you're so incredible I'm so excited for this." She also shared Mary's post on her Instagram Story earlier today.
Nicola's last feature film appearance was in Lola (2024), which she also wrote and directed. The film, which marked her directorial debut, was released in February last year and she was supported by some of her in-laws at the launch.
At the premiere in Los Angeles, she was seen cosying up to her mother-in-law Victoria Beckham, 51. Nicola's husband Brooklyn Beckham, 26, and his brother Cruz Beckham, 20, were also in attendance at the special occasion.
Nicola and her mother-in-law were even seen dancing together at an apparent after-party as the Spice Girls ' Wannabe played. And ahead of the film's release, Victoria said she "could not be more proud" of her daughter-in-law.
Her support suggested that she was on good terms with Nicola, following previous rumours of tension in their relationship. There's since been renewed speculation about the family, with it rumoured that there's now a rift between Brooklyn and his parents Victoria and David Beckham, 50.
Brooklyn is said to have grown close to his in-laws and it's been claimed that he "doesn't really feel like he fits into" his own family. A source told the Mirror recently: "He just doesn't feel his family have treated Nicola well and now that he's grown so close to her family in the States, he doesn't really feel like he fits into the Beckham family right now."
Despite ongoing speculation about their relationship with his parents, a source suggested to the Mirror last month that Brooklyn and Nicola were stronger than ever. They were described as a young couple "enjoying their lives together".

Bleeding HGTV makes sweeping changes in last-ditch attempt to save network amid crisis
HGTV has cancelled seven shows in a bid to cut costs and bring the network into a new era. In recent weeks, the channel has axed Farmhouse Fixer, Izzy Does It, The Flipping El Moussas, Christina on the Coast, Married to Real Estate, Battle on the Beach, and Bargain Block, which has left fans furious. According to Deadline, the bold decision to cull the seven programs was to help free up some money. The publication reports that HGTV home renovation shows can cost up to $500,000 per episode compared to real estate shows, which costs somewhere between $200,000 and $300,000, and can be produced in a shorter period. 'Home reno shows are expensive because all of the materials are jacked up and on delay, the price of wood and marble and everything else is going up so these shows don't make as much sense anymore,' one source told Deadline. On top of budget issues, a producer claimed some talent were being paid up to $100,000 an episode and were 'afraid to say no.' 'They allowed their talent to run amok,' an insider alleged. 'They gave them some form of creative control and that's harming their own shows. They were so afraid of talent they never said no and the shows aren't delivering anymore. 'They kowtowed to talent and now they're suffering the consequences.' Additionally, the publication claimed that HGTV has been struggling with ratings, as well as competition from TikTok stars and other channels. 'I don't know if it's a show thing as much of an audience thing where a lot of people are dropping cable,' another source said. 'There was a time when people would just put on HGTV when they were cleaning.' Daily Mail has contacted HGTV for comment. Despite the bloodbath, HGTV does have new programming on the way. Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott are returning with a brand new show, Chasing the West, which is set to premiere on July 30. The eight-part series will see them help buyers find their dream ranch. Earlier this month, HGTV announced Queer Eye's Bobby Berk will front a new series, Junk or Jackpot, which 'follows collectors as they discover the true monetary value of their massive and unusual collections.' The show is executive produced by John Cena. My Lottery Dream and Zillow Gone Wild both returned to the network this month. My Lottery Dream, hosted by David Bromstad, sees him 'help clients purchase their fantasy homes with their newly attained fortunes.' 'No matter where these lucky buyers want to settle, David won't stop until he finds luxurious properties that deliver every feature on a lottery winner's wish list,' the synopsis teases. Meanwhile, Zillow Gone Wild follows comedian and actor Jack McBrayer as he searches the internet for the weirdest, wackiest and wildest properties on the market inspired by the exceedingly popular Instagram account that touts more than two million followers.

Brad Pitt doesn't look like THIS anymore as he begins filming Once Upon A Time In Hollywood sequel
He has been looking dapper on the red carpet as of late with a handsome buzz cut. But Brad Pitt will likely have fans doing double takes as he unveiled a new — yet familiar — look on the set of the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood sequel. New photos of the actor on the set of The Adventures of Cliff Booth show a noticeably dressed-down Pitt resembling more of a surfer than his usual dapper self. The 61-year-old Oscar winner, who is returning to his role of stuntman Cliff Booth, rocked chin-length blonde hair and a mustache. In a departure from his recent crisp apparel, his costume consisted of an buttoned yellow camp shirt worn over a graphic T-shirt and jeans. The scene was shot at the New Beverly Cinema, a theater in Los Angeles owned by Once Upon A Time In Hollywood writer and director Quentin Tarantino. Pitt's buzzed haircut was transformed with a shaggy blond wig on set, and he reintroduced himself to his character Cliff Booth's casual attire for his costume Tarantino is returning to write the sequel, but he's handing directing duties over to Zodiac and Seven filmmaker David Fincher Pitt was also seen minus the long hair — but mustache remaining — as he milled about the set in a blue shirt, jeans and sneakers. A coffee cup in hand suggested he was taking a break out of character between takes. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, released in 2019, starred Pitt as Cliff, a stuntman for the Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio). DiCaprio is not listed as a cast member on the show's IMDb page, which describes the plot as showcasing 'more of Cliff Booth's backstory in his new role as a Hollywood fixer.' Tarantino previously fleshed out the character beyond how he's portrayed in the film with a novelization of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood that he wrote. While the upcoming film will focus on Cliff, Pitt clarified last month that the project was 'not really a sequel but an episode' featuring the character. 'This is something Quentin Tarantino wrote. It's an episode, not really a sequel, but an episode of the character from Once Upon A Time,' he told Deadline. Though still rocking his mustache, Brad appeared to be sporting his everyday apparel while on the set on Monday Brad was hard at work as he emerged from the theaters with what appeared to be a flashlight in hand 'But he didn't want to direct it at this point, and my friend David Fincher, our friend, I say our mutual friend, David Fincher stepped in to direct it,' Pitt explained. 'So we're doing that for Netflix and we're gonna start in July, it should be really fun. It should be good fun.' In addition to Pitt, the cast consists of Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Scott Caan and JB Tadena. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood earned numerous awards and nominations, including multiple Oscar nods.

Victoria Beckham seemingly snubs Brooklyn's wife Nicola again amid family feud
VICTORIA Beckham has seemingly snubbed eldest son Brooklyn's wife Nicola Peltz as the famous family's feud rumbles on. The fashion designer's Instagram behaviour has been put under the spotlight shortly after she appeared to intervene in the high-profile clash to offer an olive branch. 7 Victoria Beckham has seemingly snubbed her eldest son Brooklyn's wife Nicola Peltz Credit: Instagram 7 She has liked Brooklyn's Instagram posts in July in an apparent attempt to end their family feud Credit: Instagram 7 Yet Posh Spice failed to like any uploads featuring Bates Motel actress Nicola Credit: Instagram 7 The pair have been embroiled in the Beckham family feud after failing to attend David's 50th birthday celebrations Credit: Instagram Nicola, 30, and Brooklyn, 26, have reportedly been keeping their distance from his family, after they failed to attend dad David's 50th birthday party. Chef and photographer Brooklyn has continued to gush over his actress spouse throughout - despite "cutting off brothers Cruz and Romeo" in the drama - amid fears he's "obsessed" with his marriage. Victoria then confirmed neither Nicola or Brooklyn would feature in her upcoming documentary - in suggestions of another snub. Yet after 'liking' budding photographer and chef's recent Instagram reel, the mum of four, 51, has followed up with approval for more of his snaps. Yet in a cryptic move, while she has hit the heart button on images featuring him, those that also included Lola star Nicola have been left un-liked. Through July, she has liked every one of Brooklyn's posts - but only if they do not feature his actress spouse. Yet this may be because the busy fashion designer had missed a handful of his uploads. Neither Nicola or Brooklyn have returned the favour and approved her uploads. Nicola was previously accused of "controlling" husband Brooklyn - who frequently gushes over his spouse on social media. Meanwhile, Victoria and Nicola reportedly fell out in the run-up to Nicola's marriage to Brooklyn in 2022 in a row over Posh not designing the wedding dress. Brooklyn Beckham unfollows his brothers just hours after reaching out to sister Harper on her birthday The daughter of US billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz ended up walking down the aisle at her family's mansion in Miami in a gown by Italian fashion legend Valentino. SHOW SNUB? Fans recently suspected A Mind Of It's Own singer had dealt another snub to the pair after it was confirmed they would be a no show for her new series. Spice Girl singer Victoria's long-awaited Netflix programme is due for release in October. It is understood she will not touch on the simmering feud with her eldest and his spouse - although she has promised there will be 'tears' in the four-parter. The Sun can also confirm how Nicola and Brooklyn will not be in Victoria's upcoming show - but that is because no scenes were filmed with them. A source added to us: 'The children hardly feature — it's simply not a case of Brooklyn and Nicola being cut, as they weren't in it to start with. "This is very much a project focussing on Victoria's transaction from pop star to businesswoman and designer." The Sun has learned that Victoria comes across 'brilliantly' - continuing from her scene-stealing one-liners in David's own four-parter. OLIVE BRANCH The Sun was first to report how pop legend Elton John said his piece to his godson Brooklyn on the family difficulties during a swanky lunch. The legendary singer, 78, has publicly praised Brooklyn and Nicola on social media while the feud has been making headlines, and he has even hung out with them in Cannes. We revealed Elton 'briefly' touched on the family feud before sticking to more neutral territory. 'Elton is the showbiz equivalent of Switzerland,' said a source. 'He's utterly neutral in this row. 'Elton of old may have relished in taking sides - in this case his young godson, Brooklyn - but two years off his 80th birthday, he's a man who has seen and done it all. 'He just wants everyone to be happy. There is no side-taking as such; he simply adores his godson, and really has a laugh with Nicola who he thinks has a great sense of humour. "He wants to look after them in his role as 'spiritual adviser' as a godfather, it's a role he takes seriously. 'Elton and David think the situation is terribly sad, and has gently suggested to all involved that life is short — and to patch things up." Victoria then appeared to intervene after the Rocket Man vocalist's involvement. She liked Brooklyn's latest Instagram reel showing him rustling up pasta in the kitchen, suggesting tensions could be thawing. 7 Mum of four Victoria has hit the heart-shaped button on his uploads this month Credit: Instagram 7 Brooklyn is said to be 'obsessed' with American wife Nicola Credit: Instagram
