Ambati Rayudu's 'go RCB' wish for IPL final backfires as CSK loyalist's true intentions doubted: 'Bring your jinx game'
All eyes are on Virat Kohli as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) gear up to take on Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 3. Kohli and RCB have been waiting for 18 years to get their hands on the coveted trophy, and the franchise is just one step away from winning their maiden title.
Ahead of the IPL 2025 summit clash, RCB have been extended support from a rather unusual quarter. Ambati Rayudu, a former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter posted on social media, saying RCB deserve to go all the way this season.

Rayudu, a long-time CSK loyalist, has often trolled RCB for not being able to win the title. During his analysis of RCB games, the 39-year-old has often poked fun at the franchise. Even during the ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025, Rayudu engaged in banter with former RCB and India coach Sanjay Bangar, saying the team would hope to reach Qualifier 2 in IPL 2025, but that's about it.
Ahead of the IPL 2025 final, Rayudu said that despite the great cricketing rivalry between Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai, he wants RCB to end their trophy drought and defeat Punjab Kings in the final.
"There has always been an amazing cricketing rivalry between the 3 great southern cities. I think it's time for the great city of Bangalore to win their first ever Ipl trophy tonight which they truly deserve to this season.. Go RCB.. bring it home," Rayudu wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
As expected, Ambati Rayudu's comments section is filled with a plethora of reactions, with fans questioning his intentions. Several supporters of RCB believe that Rayudu is trying to jinx the franchise's chances in the IPL 2025 final.
'Anti jinx spray,' commented one user, while another wrote, 'Keep it up Rayudu, bring your top level jinx game tonight.'
Another user wrote, 'Heart of heart, he wants Punjab to win. " One fan commented, 'All the best RCB out. Amabati Rayudu is supporting, so definitely Lollypop loading.'
Speaking of RCB, the Rajat Patidar-led side reached the IPL 2025 final after beating Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1 by eight wickets. Josh Hazlewood and Suyash Sharma returned with three wickets each as RCB bundled out PBKS for 101 inside 15 overs.
RCB then chased the total down with 60 balls to spare, owing to Phil Salt's unbeaten 56-run knock off 27 balls.
In the league stage, RCB finished second in the points table with 19 points from 14 games.

Bengaluru Stampede: 5 cops suspended; 2 KSCA officials resign; CM raises compensation to ₹25 Lakh
Bengaluru Stampede: Bengaluru skies lit up with firecrackers on Tuesday, June 3 — as if Diwali had come to the city early — after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) clinched the IPL trophy for the first time in 18 years. Within a day, however, the celebrations spiralled into a tragic stampede killing 11, leading to the suspension of five senior police officers, transfer of one Karnataka government official. As per the latest developments, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has increased the compensation for the families of those who lost their lives in the Chinnaswamy Stadium tragedy to ₹ 25 lakh each from the earlier ₹ 10 lakh per family. Here's what we know so far: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah's political secretary K Govindaraj was suspended, while Hemanth Nimbalkar, Karnataka's Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) was transferred. On Friday, a city court remanded four individuals — including Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Head of Marketing and Revenue, Nikhil Sosale — to 14 days in judicial custody in connection with the fatal stampede. Apart from transferring officials, the Karnataka government on Saturday ordered a Criminal Investigation Department (CID) investigation into the stampede case. As part of the investigation, CID officials visited the office of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) to gather preliminary information on the matter, ANI reported. As per ESPNCricinfo, top senior officials of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), secretary A Shankar and treasurer ES Jairam, have resigned from their posts, citing "moral responsibility" for the stampede. They submitted the resignations to the president of the board, Raghuram Bhat. The brutal stampede also left its footprints on social media. Following the tragedy, angry netizens, who were once all praise for Virat Kohli, demanded that the cricket icon be put behind bars. Social media users even clashed with each other over #ArrestKohli trending on X, as many users claimed the stampede was because of the organisers' failure.

Bengaluru stampede: Open invitation without preparation is criminal negligence, says MP Tejasvi Surya
Bengaluru: Bangalore South MP Tejasvi Surya criticized the decision to hold an open invitation event at Chinnaswamy Stadium without logistical preparation as "criminal negligence" that culminated in the loss of 11 innocent lives. Drawing a comparison with the 2011 World Cup victory celebrations in Mumbai, Surya said despite the participation of over 15 lakh people there, no such tragedy occurred. That was because of better crowd management and planning in Mumbai, he pointed out. Surya lashed out at what he described as an "egotistical and irresponsible" attempt by the state's top leadership, including CM Siddaramiah and DCM DK Shivakumar, to get involved in RCB celebrations and "bask in undeserved glory". He alleged that despite being fully aware of the massive crowd that would gather for the event, the govt failed to make adequate safety arrangements. "It is not cricketers or fans who are to blame. The state govt, particularly the CM and DCM, orchestrated a scenario that led to this tragic stampede," Surya said. He urged the RCB franchise to show solidarity with its fanbase. "Even though there is no legal obligation, morally and humanely, the franchise should come forward to support and compensate the victims' families," Surya said.

Bengaluru stampede: How further disaster was thwarted on top tiers of Chinnaswamy Stadium
1 2 Bengaluru: While pain, anguish and trauma unfolded outside M Chinnaswamy Stadium Wednesday, a potential disaster was averted by the skin of the teeth inside the stadium — thanks to the swift response of alert private security personnel and police officers. By 5pm on that fateful day, as it became clear certain stands, particularly Stand 13, were overcrowded, D Bhaskar, the managing director of Supreme Care Services, a private security agency deployed by event partner DNA, could sense trouble. "Stand 13 looked dangerous. People were jumping from the upper tier to the lower level to get a better view," Bhaskar recalled. "Some even used pillars and fences to climb down. It was a crowd unlike what we usually see during IPL matches — much more aggressive and unruly." Bhaskar, drawing on his army training and two years' experience of handling RCB match security, read the situation fast enough to realise it was spiralling out of control. "Several stands were operating at over 120% capacity. Those spectators who stood up were blocking the views of those behind, which led to pushing and jostling," he said. "I feared people could fall off the upper stands straight to the ground." Bhaskar immediately approached a senior police officer at the venue. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Obtén audífonos premium sin pagar absolutamente nada Top Audifonos Undo "I must thank him — he acted without any delay. Five police officers from the VIP area were immediately told to control the situation on the upper stands. They moved to the upper tiers and cleared out those threatening to act dangerously," Bhaskar said. Warnings on loudspeaker Meanwhile, Bhaskar's team comprising former army personnel, used walkie-talkies and loudspeakers to warn the spectators. "We told the crowd that they were under surveillance and strict action would be taken against any unruly conduct, which instilled some fear and helped calm the situation."
