Reacting to the film, a user wrote, 'Weapons is 100% HOLY HELL BATSHT BRILLIANT. Scary, funny, heart-pounding, heartbreaking, fully original, and rich with respectful, genre-busting homage. Zach Cregger is a master filmmaker. The hype is real, the hype is real. Go in as blind as you possibly can."

Another shared, 'Weapons might be the craziest movie you see all year. Complete insanity. It's shocking in the way It Follows or Longlegs are, but with the tone and chaos of Barbarian. Each sequence is more unexpected than the last, and some of the horror imagery is now burned into my brain. FREAKING HAUNTING. Cregger is a madman and I'm here for it."

An individual stated, 'WEAPONS is a good mystery/thriller that wants to be a great horror film. Some moments achieve that, but they come far too late in the film. Although the story kept me intrigued, the overall product was missing something."

From the second it starts, there is an immensely grand scope to #WeaponsMovie that entrances the audience as Cregger weaves an intricate and sinister tale. Led by two stellar performances from Julia Garner and Josh Brolin, and packed with some terrifying scares and great moments of twisted humour, Weapons is an epic horror experience unlike any other."

Josh Brolin finds 'Weapons' opposite to "all the same..." content on streamers Actor Josh Brolin is tired of "all the same sh**" that's on streamers, so he decided to join Zach Cregger 's 'Weapons', according to The Hollywood Reporter. 'Weapons' is a mystery horror film, written, co-produced, and directed by Zach Cregger. The film stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich , Austin Abrams , Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong , and Amy Madigan. The Oscar-nominated actor recently shared how the horror mystery pic is the solution to all the boring content. "You're looking for great filmmakers, and you're hoping that there's another new good filmmaker out there," he said. "Right now, with so much content, you're just watching things on whatever streaming service you're on, and you're just going, '...why is this so boring, man? Why?' And just go to the next thing. It's all the same..." Brolin added of 'Weapons', "And then somebody not only takes the horror genre, but then f* with it and then does something on the edge of absurdity, and it's sort of humorous, so it's keeping you off-balance enough for him to have an emotional impact, ultimately, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Cregger previously told The Hollywood Reporter that "it seems like horror is one of the few outlets for real creativity right now on a big scale." "Without horror, you go to the theatre, and you get people in tights for USD 200 million, and there's not a lot of room for risk in those movies. But, it's a shame that there's not a lot of room for anything else," the Barbarian director shared, adding, "I love horror, my creative tuning fork resonates strongly with horror, so I'm lucky in that regard. I dearly wish that we could have cool, edgy, weird comedies back in the movie theatres. Or dramatic fare for adults in the theatre. I feel like there's not a lot of movies for grown-ups anymore," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

'Overhyped and overrated': Josh Allen's wife Hailee Steinfeld faces harsh criticism from Dave Portnoy

Dave Portnoy ignited a debate by criticizing Hailee Steinfeld's film 'Sinners,' despite Josh Allen's praise (Imagn Images) Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is known for pulling no punches, and his latest target is Sinners—the gothic vampire drama starring Hailee Steinfeld , wife of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. More than three months after its April 18 premiere, Portnoy made it clear he wasn't buying into the hype. Dave Portnoy slams Hailee Steinfeld 's ' Sinners ' Portnoy told followers on X (formerly Twitter) that he had intended to watch the much-anticipated thriller Weapons, only to discover it wasn't available to stream. Instead, he settled on Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler and set in 1930s Mississippi, with Steinfeld playing a multi-racial vampire opposite Michael B. Jordan. 'I may be like 6 months late with this critique but that was one of the most overhyped, overrated movies of all time. If you say that movie was great, you have no movie credibility with me,' Portnoy tweeted, leaving little doubt about his verdict. The criticism comes well past the film's promotional run, but the blunt delivery reignited conversation—especially since Allen had publicly praised his wife's performance earlier this year, calling the film 'fantastic' during a team media appearance. NFL rivalry spills into Hollywood chatter Not all NFL voices shared Allen's glowing review. New York Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner jokingly declared in April, 'out of respect for my dawg Josh, i will not be going to see Sinners,' adding a playful twist to the inter-division rivalry. Allen, coming off an MVP-caliber season with over 3,700 passing yards and 40 total touchdowns, married Steinfeld on May 31 in a celebration he called 'the best night of my life' on HBO's Hard Knocks. The couple's high-profile status in both sports and entertainment has made Sinners a talking point well beyond the usual moviegoing crowd. A personal story behind the supernatural Director Ryan Coogler has said the idea for Sinners stemmed from family stories and Mississippi blues history, weaving in a supernatural twist with Michael B. Jordan playing twin brothers navigating post-World War I life. For Steinfeld, the role was deeply personal, connecting to her own heritage while tackling a complex, genre-bending character.
