A desperate mum pleaded with students having a raucous party next door to quiet down so her daughter could study for her GCSEs.
The parent was mocked for being a 'Karen' as she told around 300 university students to turn down the volume at their garden party.
A TikTok video timestamped 1.34am on June 2 shows the mum telling revellers her daughter has an exam at 9am.
Police eventually broke up the end-of-year bash at around 2am, which included laser lights and external speakers on Cliff Road in Leeds.
But students continued to rave in the street, with some blasting music from a car for another hour after being told by officers to go home.
First-year Gene Vale, 19, who is studying cybersecurity at Leeds Beckett University, arrived at the outdoor garden party at 12.45am.
He said: 'We were just chilling and this woman just barges in – there's an alleyway next to the house, so you can just walk through an alleyway.
'She walks through the alleyway and barges through everyone, goes straight up to the DJ and says, 'can you turn it off?'
'He says 'oh, you're ruining the party' and everything and then she tries to explain her daughter has a 9am exam the next morning and says 'you're not being very considerate'.
'Obviously, it didn't really end up working out for her, because the guy who actually was DJ'ing didn't really care.'
He added that while he had sympathy for the mum, he wouldn't have complained if he had been in her shoes.
Vale said: 'Obviously it was their last big send-off party, you just have to put yourself in their shoes and think how gutted I would be if someone was complaining.'
Others online were more critical of student gatherings. Another person sitting an exam wrote how their sleep was disrupted by a party next door.
They said: 'Not a Karen, it's reasonable? I had a 9am chemistry exam and the uni house next door had a party.
'Went into the exam absolutely knackered. Just go clubbing or do the party on a weekend like a normal person.'
A spokesperson for Leeds City Council said: 'Incidents like this remain rare, largely due to the strong partnership working and investment that's been made over time by Leeds City Council's Dedicated Service, a project jointly funded by University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University.
'With regards to this incident, the Dedicated Service out-of-hours noise team received two calls from one resident relating to a large house party with external speakers and laser lights. More Trending
'Council officers arrived on site and unacceptable noise was witnessed from a distance of 100 metres.
'When the officers approached the house there were approximately 300 people in the garden area and an unknown number inside the house itself. Initial requests to turn the music off were refused, however once the tenant of the property had been spoken to the music was turned off and people started to disperse.
'Due to the number of people leaving the address, police attendance was requested.
'The occupants of the address in question have been dealt with under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 via the Leeds Anti-Social Behaviour Team with further investigations on-going.'

Tourist shatters priceless Van Gogh chair by sitting on it

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video This is the moment a tourist sat on a 'Van Gogh' chair at an art gallery – before the antique collapsed under his weight. The crystal-covered furniture, named after the legendary Dutch artist, was housed at Palazzo Maffei, an art museum in Verona. Footage captured a woman and a man posing for pictures around the chair after waiting for the art gallery security to leave. The woman pretends to sit down before the man actually places his weight on the seat, which promptly cracks. The pair dash out of the room, leaving the damaged chair bent over on the floor. The piece was designed by Italian artist Nicola Bolla and was studded with Swarovski crystals. Palazzo Maffei shared the CCTV footage on Facebook, describing the described the act as an 'irresponsible gesture'. The museum said that, despite uncertainty over whether the fragile chair could be restored, the museum managed to repair it. It said: 'Every museum's nightmare has become reality, even in Palazzo Maffei. Waiting for the surveillance officers to come out, some visitors took an 'in effect' photo. 'The result? An irresponsible gesture caused serious damage to Nicola Bolla's 'Van Gogh' chair, a very delicate work, covered entirely with hundreds of Swarovski crystals.' More Trending It added: 'For days, we did not know if it would be possible to restore it. But we did it. 'A heartfelt thank you goes to the police, our security department and the restorers whose valuable work enabled the recovery of the piece. 'And a special thank you to all those who walk through the museum halls every day, with care, attention and wonder. 'Because art is not just for seeing. It is to be loved. It is to be protected.' Lawmaker forcefully removed from Trump secretary's LA protests conference

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A US lawmaker was forcibly dragged out of a press conference on the Los Angeles protests held by President Donald Trump's 'ICE Barbie' and handcuffed. Democratic Senator Alex Padilla interrupted Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem's update on immigration enforcement at the Federal Building in LA on Thursday by shouting, 'I have questions for the secretary!' Secret Service and FBI agents quickly surrounded Padilla, restrained him and escorted him out of the room. Padilla said, 'Hands off!' several times before he was pinned to the floor facedown in the hallway and handcuffed with his arms around his back. He later posted a video of the ordeal recorded by one of his staff members, and explained that he was just trying to provide oversight as a ranking member of the judiciary subcommittee on immigration, citizenship and border safety. 'If that's what they do to a United States Senator with a question, imagine what they can do to any American that dares to speak up,' wrote Padilla on X (formerly Twitter). 'We will hold this administration accountable.' California Governor Gavin Newsom called it 'outrageous, dictatorial, and shameful' and wrote on X that 'Trump and his shock troops are out of control'. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) stated that they believed Padilla was the person who 'lunged toward' Noem and falsely claimed that he did not identify himself. 'Mr Padilla was told repeatedly to back away and did not comply with officers' repeated commands,' wrote the department on X. The DHS concluded that agents 'acted appropriately'. Noem said she wished that Padilla had reached out before interrupting the conference in a manner that 'wasn't appropriate'. She added that she and Padilla met for 15 minutes after the incident and had a 'great' and 'productive' conversation. More Trending Tensions have been high in LA as Trump and Newsom continue to spar over protests against the president's immigration crackdown. Trump ordered thousands of National Guard troops and Marines to the city to support efforts by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to deport undocumented people. Newsom sued Trump and a judge blocked Trump's use of the National Guard in LA, but an appeals court is temporarily allowing troops to stay. Protests have spread across multiple major cities in the US. Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@ For more stories like this, check our news page.
