Beyoncé's Often-Overlooked Tribute Becomes A Hit Again

Beyoncé isn't actively promoting any new music at the moment, as she's preparing to launch her Cowboy Carter tour. As she does, her latest full-length, which the trek is centered around, continues to hold on in a few corners of the globe, and it seems like it will almost certainly enjoy a healthy resurgence once fans are fully swept up in the excitement of the venture. In the meantime, a forgotten gem from the singer's discography is finding a new audience overseas, as one of her most beautiful and often overlooked compositions returns to a pair of rankings in the United Kingdom.
This week, "Die With You" finds its way back to two tallies in the U.K. The piano ballad reenters both the Official Singles Downloads and Official Singles Sales charts. It comes in at No. 70 on the downloads-only list and just a few spaces lower at No. 74 on the full sales ranking, which compiles the top-selling tracks in the nation across all purchase platforms.
There are clear similarities between the way "Die With You" has performed on both U.K. rankings it appears on. To date, the track has now spent five frames on each of the sales-focused rosters. Also, it previously climbed as high as No. 19 on the two charts.
Part of the recent surge in interest surrounding "Die With You" can be traced back to TikTok, where the song has been going viral. Fans have been using the piano-driven ballad in emotional videos, and, as is often the case, activity on the social platform has translated into tangible gains, with listeners then traveling to streaming services and download stores to hear the full cut.
Beyond TikTok, the song is also atopic of conversation again on social media, where many longtime supporters have pointed out that "Die With You" is one of Beyoncé's most underrated and touching works. Some fans have gone so far as to call it one of her most beautiful compositions.
"Die With You" has had an unusual release history compared to most of Beyoncé's biggest hits. The track first appeared as a video in 2015, timed to her and Jay-Z's seventh wedding anniversary. A proper audio release followed in 2017, but it was made available exclusively on Tidal, the music streaming platform that the couple once co-owned. Because of its limited initial rollout, the song never had the chance to become a major chart hit, but it did become a favorite among diehard fans.

Nobody wants to shop anymore — and our classic stores are suffering

Shoppers keep dropping America. Land of the Pilgrims' pride. That was yesterday. Today gone like the covered wagon. Because some designers' bills haven't been paid since January, shops are not receiving new merchandise. Thus, a handful of stores are amalgamating — Saks 5th, Neiman's, Bergdorf all snuggling under the same entity — Saks Global. Major outlets have closed. Saks 5th Palm Beach was captivity's most successful outlet. For ladies of a certain age, it was their pastime. Those limbs could no longer do what they used to do so — got nothing to do? You shop. Took up time. That was then. Now not. Dressing today is just for salads. Already on luxury overload they need nothing. Maybe only an accessory like a handbag. Even collectors stopped collecting. Take photographs. Nobody buying. Pics are like Biden. Not moving. Big-time front-cover fashion shots once grabbed big dollars. Now? It's that craggy thing you snap with your crappy cell. Auction sales of formerly big-time photographers have tanked. Why? Collectors grew old. Not selling like 10 years ago. Scenes, faces, models, places, history, geography, nudity, fashion — now, forget it. Worldwide front-cover fotogs like Irving Penn? It's now 'so what?' Christie's and Phillips auction houses once sold him. Not now. Pros tell me that at a 2013 auction of one Irving Penn photo brought $459,000. Now his masterpieces — down to $80,000 — huge drop — remain unsold. Grandkids aren't into black and white. They want showy. Shiny. Glittery. They don't care about the old masters. Owners now sit on their collections. Not even trying to sell. Huge drop. Auction houses were off 40% this season. Famous photo titled 'Woman in Moroccan Palace' sold for $459,000 in 2013. Lately it came back up for $80,000. Didn't sell. Also not moving — clothing. Its buyers only look to wear it once. Disposable goods. Not investment clothing. They'll post themselves on Instagram or TikTok wearing the new cheapo tee then — shove it. Off with it. The designer market has gone the way of zoot suits. They say low-fruit spenders will shop — but not in volume or to show quality. Just 'something to do.' A way to save the day. Not an activity. Not to flash your semi-covered behind at a tennis match. Just something to do before going home to argue with him. Brands are suffering — consumers are stiffing Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Dior, Valentino. Unless designers possess their own personal special place, it's sayonara. No room at the inn. Shops aren't paying or ordering. Forget lunch — stylists now hunt for friends to take them to dinner. And nobody's breaking out of the mold. Two nights ago, five people were at the next restaurant table — husband, wife, two children and grandma. All 10 feet were in sneakers. Once big buyers came from overseas, including the Chinese. Now no one. South Americans have their own problems. Europeans? Busy killing each other off. Nobody wants Russians. And if you're US stock and come from places like, maybe, Minnesota — nobody wants you any place. And never — never — forget the immortal words of Irving Hauser who said: 'A penny saved is a point on your credit card.' And he said it: Only in New York, kids, only in New York.

85-year-old grandma gets a wholesome surprise at the airport — and her precious reaction goes viral

"This is what life's all about." She thought she was headed to Ireland with her daughter and granddaughter — until two little familiar faces showed up. Great Grandma Mary McCarthy was already thrilled about her 85th birthday trip to Ireland, but her adventure started with an emotional airport reunion that's now going viral. While waiting for her flight at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, Mary suddenly spotted two unexpected travel companions: her great-grandsons, Finley (6) and Wyatt (4), who had secretly flown in from Colorado. The boys ran into her arms yelling, 'We surprised you!' — and the sweet moment was caught on video. 'I looked out there and I said, 'That kid looks just like Finley!'' McCarthy told The video, shared on TikTok, has already racked up more than 700,000 views, with commenters calling it 'the sweetest thing on the internet.' The video has sparked an outpouring of love from strangers around the world. One viewer wrote, 'This made me cry happy tears — she's so precious.' Another said, 'These little boys will remember this forever, and so will she.' A third commented simply: 'Protect Grandma Mary at all costs.' 'I think that's why we knew we wanted to make it a surprise, because she has the best reactions,' granddaughter Sarah Giannini, who planned the big reveal, told TODAY. She explained that the setup involved carefully timed texts to her husband: 'We wanted to see how many times he could walk by with the boys without her noticing. So the video picks up right when I text him, and she saw him instantly.' McCarthy admitted she had to hold back her excitement in the terminal. 'I'm surprised I didn't scream louder, but I knew I was in the airport. I told myself, 'You better tone it down,'' she told TODAY. The family went on to enjoy a week in Ireland filled with castle tours, pub dancing, bagpipes, and even falconry. Still, McCarthy said the best part wasn't the sightseeing but the small, everyday moments. 'In the morning they'd come running, give me a hug, and say good morning. It was so nice every single day. I'm getting tears in my eyes thinking about it,' she shared with TODAY. Already, she's looking forward to their next adventure. 'It was amazing. I'd love to go again. Drop of a hat — I'm ready. [It will] only take me 10 minutes to pack!' she said. Next on the list: Disney World. Until then, TikTok commenters are still celebrating her joyful moment. As one fan summed it up: 'This is what life's all about — family, love, and memories.' Solve the daily Crossword

Mom checks on her toddler and Saint Bernard—and can't believe what she finds

Every mom knows that if their toddler is quiet, something is going on. For one little girl named Lavender, that 'something' was turning her giant Saint Bernard into the ultimate play set. In a TikTok posted by @thanosthesaint, which has already racked up nearly 7 million views, Thanos the Saint Bernard is stretched out on the floor, sound asleep, one back leg pointing straight up in the air. Lavender takes full advantage of the perfect setup: she slides her stacking rings onto his paw like it's the world's most patient toy stand. She carefully stacks and un-stacks them, experimenting with different color orders while her furry 'assistant' stays perfectly still. Even with cartoons playing in the background, Lavender stays laser-focused on her DIY game—and Thanos doesn't move a muscle. The world's most patient playmate At one point, Thanos stirs awake, only to flop back over and resume his nap, giving Lavender even more opportunities to perfect her stacking. Eventually, the video ends with Lavender cuddled up between Thanos and his fellow Saint Bernard, Dunder, proving just how much these dogs adore their tiny human. And as a mom of an 18-month-old and a dog, I'll be honest: my house doesn't always look like this. Sometimes the toddler pulls ears, sometimes the dog steals snacks—and more often than not, I'm playing referee. That's why seeing a moment like this, where a child and a pet fall into an unspoken rhythm of patience and play, feels so magical. It's the kind of quiet harmony every mom hopes for, even if just for a few minutes. Related: Mom says no to another dog—until a senior rescue 'chooses' her teen The comments were just as good as the video Parents and dog lovers alike couldn't get over both Lavender's determination and Thanos' gentle spirit. @Hollymidfield said: 'The fact that she figured out that the rings fit on the dog's leg amazes me.' @Rainonwater: 'He's like: she's quiet, let her do it.' @breezygemini78: 'The dog is giving dad vibes, do whatever, just don't cry.' And honestly, same. Related: You won't believe what this 14-year-old dog did when she heard a crying baby Why moments like this mean so much to parents For moms, seeing a toddler completely absorbed in play—especially quiet, independent play—feels like striking gold. Research from the American Academy of Pediatrics shows that unstructured playtime builds focus, problem-solving skills, and creativity in young kids. It's also a reminder that sometimes the simplest 'toys' are the ones that spark the most joy (and give us a few precious minutes to sip our coffee). Lavender may think she just found a fun way to play with her stacking rings, but what she really showed all of us is the power of imagination and the incredible patience of a family dog.
