A FLOOD ADVISORY has been issued for Montgomery and Greene Counties until 6:15 a.m. and for Darke and Preble Counties until 4:30 a.m.
A FLOOD ADVISORY has been issued for Randolph County, IN, until 6:30 a.m. and for Wayne County, IN, until 5 a.m.

The Weather Prediction Center increased the risk for Excessive Rainfall Saturday night into Sunday morning in the Miami Valley to a level 2 of 4 (slight) for most of the region. There is a level 1 of 4 (marginal) risk to the north.
According to Storm Center 7 Weather Specialist Nick Dunn, this outlook highlights the threat of rainfall that can lead to flash flooding.
While heavy rainfall is not expected to impact everyone in the Miami Valley, those who do get rain could see flooding issues if the rainfall is repetitive over the same areas.

A severe thunderstorm warning also has been issued for parts of Lake and McHenry counties through 4:15 p.m. Strong storms with wind gusts of up to 60 mph began moving into northern Illinois from Wisconsin around 3 p.m. The waves of storms will be aggravated by the heat in Chicago, where temperatures reached the mid 90s on Saturday afternoon. Waves of strong storms are expected to continue through around 7 p.m. before moving off to the southeast. More heavy rain and storms are possible Sunday morning before things calm down later in the day.

These scorching temperatures are expected to impact Franklin, Ripley, Dearborn, Ohio and Switzerland county in Indiana; Carroll, Gallatin, Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Owen, Grant, Pendleton, Bracken, Robertson, Mason and Lewis county in Kentucky; and Butler, Warren, Clinton, Ross, Hamilton, Clermont, Brown, Highland, Adams, Pike and Scioto in Ohio. The agency suggests that those in the Greater Cincinnati area should prepare for intense heat and stay weather aware. The weather service also says there is a chance for isolated storms during the afternoon and evening on Aug. 16, possibly lasting until early morning on Aug. 17. Cincinnati Recreation Commission facilities remain open to the public to escape the heat regardless of membership status, according to the city of Cincinnati. Thunderstorms bring flood threat in Chicago on Tuesday

Flooding is in a concern in Chicago as more rounds of thunderstorms move into the area on Tuesday. A ground stop was issued at O'Hare and Midway airports just before 6:30 a.m. due to thunderstorms. Gusty storms are expected throughout the morning in far northwest areas. The next round of heavy storms develop in the afternoon. Those storms could produce flooding and gusty winds. This next round of storms comes after a Flood Advisory was issued for parts of the Chicago area on Monday evening. Beginning shorty after 9 p.m., lightning began flashing and thunder began rolling in downtown Chicago, as pouring rain began falling off and on. There have been reports of local flooding, specifically in roadways.
