
Netizens LOL At Local Dairy Brand Farm Fresh 'Shading' Wall's Magnum Ice Cream
There's nothing like some friendly competition between brands. Of course, there's an art to ensuring you're not going overboard with the roasting, like how Farm Fresh made its 'diss' towards Wall's Magnum.
A Twitter user recently shared a photo with the simple caption, 'Damn'. The picture was taken at the ice cream freezer section of a convenience store and depicts the promotional advertisements for the available ice cream brands. However, the Twitter post highlights the 'competitive' advertising between local dairy brand Farm Fresh and prominent ice cream brand Wall's Magnum.
As shown in the picture, Magnum ice cream positions itself as 'the original' chocolate-covered ice cream, writing in its display sign, 'Stick to the original. 'Like a Magnum' is not a Magnum'. However, adjacent to it was the advertisement for Farm Fresh's Cream HAUZ ice cream, which wrote, 'Like the original. Tapi harga berbaloi (but at a better value)'. While it wasn't direct, it's clear that Farm Fresh's advertisement was a jab at its competitor.
Netizens have since reacted to the post, showing amusement at the local dairy brand's 'diss'. Some also quipped that it was smart marketing on Farm Fresh's part since it can get people talking about the brand. Many also started taking sides, with the crowd seemingly equally split. While some supported Farm Fresh, noting that it's a local brand, others said it can't compete with Wall's Magnum's flavour.
Farm Fresh isn't the only brand that dared to 'diss' their competitors. In the comment sections, some pointed out how home improvement retailer Mr DIY poked fun at its competitors for raising prices. Some netizens also brought up Apple and Samsung's infamous rivalry. Others mentioned local coffee chain ZUS Coffee, noting its many 'genius' advertisements and billboards that reference other brands.

Most of the comments were stunned by the idol's 'unreal' visuals, noting that he looked like he was in a photo shoot for a sports magazine. Some fans even called him a Ken doll because of his toned figure and blond hair. Surprisingly, the triathlon isn't the only sporting event that Minho participated in recently. Last month, the idol challenged himself in the HYROX competition in Taipei. The sporting competition combines 8 kilometres of running and eight functional workout stations, with participants alternating between running and functional exercises. Minho reportedly completed the event with an impressive record of 1 hour and 4 minutes. The SHINee member has also shared his HYROX experience through his personal YouTube channel. Fans have expressed awe at Minho's athleticism, arguing that it isn't easy to maintain his fitness level. Some even said the idol inspired them to become active. Funnily, some fans also joked that they can no longer tell whether Minho is an idol or an athlete, given his love for working out. We wonder what sports competition Minho will participate in next. TREASURE Fans Upset Over Alleged Mistreatment By Group's Recent KL Event Organiser
Last Friday (30th May), fans were over the moon as TREASURE members Park Jeongwoo (박정우), Doyoung (도영), Choi Hyunsuk (최현석), and Haruto (하루토/ハルト) made a special appearance at Sunway Pyramid for ecoBrown's BRICE with TREASURE event. Some lucky fans even managed to greet the idols at KLIA upon their arrival, on the same day EXO's Suho landed in Malaysia. Although the event itself appeared to be a success, things seemingly didn't go as smoothly when it came to managing the brand's contest winners, who were meant to meet the idols on stage. Here's what happened: On Wednesday (4th June), a fan took to Twitter to share their experience as one of the winners of ecoBrown's contest to meet TREASURE during the brand's recent BRICE Malaysia with TREASURE event. The user detailed the agreement they were required to sign and expressed frustration over several rules that, in their view, did not make sense. According to the screenshots of the guidelines shared, the organisers requested that fans refrain from taking photos or videos throughout the event, despite it being held in a public space. The user claimed that the brand had initially posted the same guidelines on social media, but later changed the caption to specify that the rule applied only to contest winners. This led to confusion, as the winners were positioned closer to the boy group and understandably had more opportunities to capture content. As if that weren't enough, the winners were reportedly not provided with chairs while waiting for the group photo session with the idols onstage. This detail can be verified, as members of the media, including Hype Malaysia, were seen standing beside the winners in the designated waiting zone. Another fan also shared their conversation with ecoBrown on Instagram, in which the brand explained that they had removed criticisms and complaints from their social media to avoid the risk of being blacklisted by K-artists for future events. The company further clarified that they were required to strictly enforce the rules and agreements set by TREASURE's management in order to ensure the artists' safety. The same day that the IG conversation circulated, BRICE Malaysia issued a statement to reiterate the explanation they had given to the user on the social media platform. However, the brand has yet to address the complaints about the day of the event itself and the alleged mistreatment towards the winners.
