The Bachelor's Sam Wood reveals secret behind his success in New York street interview - as fans notice one very Aussie detail in his cameo

Daily Mail13-05-2025
Sam Wood has paid a touching tribute to his wife Snezana in an impromptu interview on the streets of New York City.
The 44-year-old former star of The Bachelor was spotted and stopped by a rogue TikTok interviewer while crossing the street.
In a video shared to the Confidence Heist account on Sunday, an American content creator picked the reality TV veteran out of the crowd to interview based on his 'confident' demeanour.
'Excuse me sir, you look really confident. What makes you confident?' host David Carmi asked Sam.
In the video, Sam is seen strutting over a pedestrian crossing in an oversized T-shirt, flaunting his tanned limbs in a pair of breezy pair of white shorts, and finishing his outerwear look with the toe-baring Australian staple.
Australian followers of the popular account were quick to identify Sam in the comments section and to throw in their two cents—with many pointing out that wearing thongs in New York would ooze confidence from an American point of view.
'I think the thing is, when you've been there and done that, you build confidence in layers,' the media personality turned multimillionaire entrepreneur answered.
'And sometimes when you throw yourself in the deep end, and that works out well, you do it again and again.
'I threw myself in the deep end 10 years ago and it all worked out beautifully. It's helped me ever since.'
'I could tell he was Aussie before he spoke,' one user commented, while an American fan enthused, 'Bro rocking flip flops in NYC is fire.'
'I did not realise Sam Wood was now a silver fox! What a vibe,' the top comment reads.
The father-of-four was asked how he felt when he first decided to take a big risk.
'It was very scary,' Sam said, indirectly referencing his time as The Bachelor.
'But when you do it, and it works out well, then you say yes moving forward along the way. And now, when opportunities present [themselves to me], I say yes.'
'Was there something you have achieved that made your mental health better?' Carmi asked him.
'Yeah lots of things. It's all changed since meeting my wife,' Sam said.
'Meeting my wife. Having kids. Having a family. Having business success... It all stemmed from meeting my wife. She's been the difference.'
'Have you learned something about yourself from being a dad?' Carmi pressed.
'You learn what is truly important,' Sam said.
'It changes your perspective on everything. It gives you a totally different reason for being and the materialistic s*** doesn't matter.'
Several fans flocked to the comments section to say that Sam had every reason to be confident.
'I remember him on the Bachelor. The moment he saw Snezana embrace her daughter he had a look of deep love and appreciation on his face,' one fan said.
'BEING WORTH 49 MILLION HELPS,' another user commented on the video..
'Sold his business for $71M I would also be pretty confident and unbothered,' another added.
Sam made his fortune when he sold his fitness program - 28 by Sam Wood - in 2022 to genetics group myDNA for $71million.
The strapping business mogul continues to invest in the company and holds a five per cent stake.
He has also amassed a $10 million real estate portfolio, including a $4million home in Elsternwick which he shares with his family.
Sam rose to fame on dating reality TV show The Bachelor alongside his now-wife Snezana, and they are one of the show's biggest success stories.
Sam gave his final rose to Snezana (nee Markoski) in the 2015 finale and just six months into their relationship, he got down on one knee and proposed.
Nine years later, the golden couple are still going strong and live together in Melbourne with their younger children - Willow, seven, Charlie, five, and Harper, two.
Sam has been in New York for the past week visiting the couple's eldest daughter Evie, 19, who is living in the US.
'Yankees, Knicks, Ricky, Denzel, great friends and most importantly a week of Evie laughs in this great city,' the proud dad captioned a carousel of happy snaps posted to Instagram.

Don't be fooled into microbladed brows or lip blush – I too was sold a lie but I'm still getting laser 9 years on

WAKING up with perfectly sculpted brows and a rosy lip tint - is what most people want after getting microbladed brows and lip blush. But for one beauty fan, this wasn't the case. The TikToker, who is known as ' mskittenheels ', has shared her story online and it's racked up over 218.2k views in just a few days. Back in 2016, she was sold on the idea of getting microblading, which is a type of cosmetic tattoo where a small blade is used to create tiny, hair-like strokes on your eyebrows, along with a lip blush. But she was told that it would fade away in around 18 months. But fast forward nine years to 2025, "they still haven't gone.' While the makeup did fade from its original "thin and brightness" she loved, the beauty fan revealed that it just didn't disappear. The lip blush, in particular, bled over her natural lip line as her skin softened with age, leaving her with a look she never wanted. But now she is trying to get rid of it, and now she is in the middle of a painful removal process, using saline for her lips and laser for her brows, with several more sessions to go. She wants everyone to know: "It's so much more painful to get rid of it than it is to have it done." "Don't be fooled," she writes in the caption section. She was told it was semi-permanent, but she realised it's just "a tattoo on your face." I tried the viral '53 method' to banish my 'chins' without going under the knife and the results were astonishing But she explains that her biggest takeaway is microblading and lip blush aren't temporary, they're permanent, and getting rid of them is a long and painful journey. One wrote: 'When I heard about these 10 years ago, I knew exactly how they would look within a few years.' To which she replied: 'I wish I had that foresight. I'm really regretting mine.' A second added: 'Don't forget the dreaded upper and lower eye liner that looks like eye shadow now.' 2 To which the TikToker replied: 'I'm so glad I didn't have that (I was too nervous about the pain around my eyes) but yes I've seen that on other people and it's turned a blue colour.' Someone else asked: 'I really want my microblading removed but worried about how much it'll cost and how many sessions I'll need. How much did your session cost?' And the TikToker replied: 'My original session was nine years ago and it cost about £240 at the time and then £80 for the top up a few weeks later. 'Honestly I wouldn't recommend it after all the pain I'm going through to get them removed but others have told me theirs have come out fabulous so I really think it depends on who you go to and the technique used.' Top 3 beauty products every woman should be using Hayley Walker, Beauty Expert at Justmylook shared the holy-grail products every woman needs to be using. A cleanser, SPF, and hair oil are must-haves within beauty routines. A cleanser is crucial for healthy skin as it removes dirt, oil, and other impurities for flawless skin. This skincare step not only cleanses the face and removes dirt, but also prevents breakouts and premature skin ageing, helping you maintain a healthy, youthful, and blemish-free complexion. The Aveeno Face Calm+ Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser is a go-to of mine due to its gentle formula that soothes and restores the skin's appearance and texture. SPF is non-negotiable and should be in everyone's daily skincare routine. Even on cooler, cloudier days, our skin is exposed to the sun's UV rays which can be harmful to unprotected skin and even lead to damage. These damages include sunburn, pigmentation changes, and wrinkles which can impact the skin's texture and appearance. In some cases, prolonged exposure to UV rays can cause skin cancer. Applying SPF daily prevents these damages and protects the skin from harmful rays. I recommend the Beauty Of Joseon Rice & Prebiotic Sunscreen PA++++ SPF50+ for its lightweight, non-clumping texture that absorbs quickly for a natural finish and maximum protection. Hair oil has many benefits and should be regularly used. This treatment can strengthen and protect the hair from external stressors while improving its appearance and shine. Regularly applying hair oil can also reduce breakage and even encourage hair growth for longer, fuller locks. Hair oils also target the scalp, reducing dandruff and improving its health through exfoliation. I recommend using this deeply nourishing treatment a couple of times a week or more depending on the hair's moisture levels. The Hair Syrup Rapunzel Pre-Wash Oil Treatment is a nutrient-rich treatment that revitalises strands to promote a happy scalp and healthy-looking locks. Apply the syrup throughout damp hair before washing; massage from root to tip and allow the formula to penetrate strands before rinsing and styling.

Caitlin Clark reveals major concern for Taylor Swift's New Heights special appearance

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark will be sat in front of her computer like many Americans on Wednesday night, dialed in to watch Taylor Swift 's appearance on 'New Heights'. The podcast appearance for the 14-time Grammy winner alongside boyfriend Travis Kelce, and his older brother Jason Kelce, will see Swift show the album cover for 'The Life of a Showgirl' and likely give a huge glimpse into the relationship of the 'Anti-Hero' singer and Chiefs tight end. The most anticipated episode in 'New Heights' history will stream starting at 7 p.m. Eastern, with Clark clearly interested, but also revealing a concern that the live broadcast may not go as planned. 'Are we sure YouTube isn't going to crash tonight?' Clark said on X. Her question quickly elicited a response from the official New Heights account - 'See you in the live chat!' Clark is friends with both Swift and the Kelce brothers and beat her 'Karma' performer mate to being a guest on New Heights back in January. Her appearance on New Heights came a few weeks before she joined Swift in a luxury suite in Kansas City for the Chiefs playoff game against the Houston Texans. Clark's excitement to see Swift and Kelce interact on his podcast was already evident, as she shared the preview clip for the episode on her Instagram story. The Fever guard also commented on the same video, 'AHHHHHHH!!!!!! LFGGGGGG'. Clark and Kelce attended one night of the 'Eras Tour' together at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, with the Iowa alumnus going to three shows on Swift's stadium tour. The one night Clark did not attend Swift's three-show stay in Indianapolis, she admitted on New Heights to looking to the home of the Colts to try and get a glimpse of the concert from her downtown residence. YouTube has more than 120million daily users, making its website likely ready for the barrage of Swifties and NFL fans eagerly anticipating the episode.
