Balancing academics, sports, and music with rare discipline, Surmayee has already carved a distinct identity in the world of music. A Class 9 student, she is the daughter of photographer-singer-guitarist and tennis player Subodh Sathe, and interior designer Arundhati Sathe. Growing up in a creatively rich and athletically active household, she developed an early fascination for music, exploring instruments such as piano, drums, guitar, and harmonica before shaping her unique style of singing.
Her music training has been guided by eminent mentors, including singer Aniruddha Joshi, Shreya Kharabe-Tankasale, Dr Manjiri Vaidya-Iyer, Srikant Naidu (western piano), and Tanushree Tamaskar (Hindustani classical vocal). A pivotal moment in her journey came when she met legendary composer Ehsaan Noorani, whose encouragement inspired her to compose music. This led to the creation of six original tracks now featured in her debut album, arranged by young composer Aryan Phadke.

Mouni Roy opens up about being typecast; says 'When I did Kyunki, people said the girl next door can't play a glam part'
From television's favourite bahu to a Bollywood star, Mouni Roy has carved a space for herself in the entertainment industry through versatility. Beginning her career with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Mouni quickly became a household name.
