Bedard Piya: India's First Gen AI Animated Drama Is Streaming On This Platform
Pratilipi and Teevra Studios recently launched India's first-ever generative AI animated series, called Bedard Piya, on YouTube.
Generative AI, or gen AI, is a new technology that can create stories, pictures, videos, music and even conversations all by itself. Following this new trend, Pratilipi, a popular storytelling platform, has teamed up with Teevra Studios, a company that uses artificial intelligence to create content. Together, they have launched India's first-ever gen AI animated series, called Bedard Piya, on YouTube. Since its premiere on July 19, six episodes have already been released, and the first season is planned to have a total of 20 episodes.
As per Media Infoline, Rajeev Tamhankar, Pratilipi Comics Head, said, 'At Pratilipi, we're reimagining how great stories evolve. Our goal has always been to extend the life of our most-loved IPs across mediums. From micro-dramas to TV shows, and now, with the rise of Gen AI, into animated series and films. With Teevra's cutting-edge execution and our IP strength, we're setting the stage for a storytelling revolution."
Co-Founder and CEO of Teevra Studios, Manasva Bhargava, adds, 'Our mission is to blend creative emotion with AI speed. Bedard Piya felt like the perfect launchpad. It's a story with deep emotional resonance and massive fan following, and we wanted to bring it to life with cinematic detail, powered by the latest Gen AI pipelines we are building at Teevra Studios."
The show's official synopsis reads, 'She didn't know the man she was marrying. He didn't believe in love. One marriage. Many secrets. Two broken hearts. Watch the story of Khushi and Rajat. a journey of pain, truth, and unexpected love. Based on a popular Pratilipi story by Priya Yadav."
As per a 2023 Goldman Sachs report, generative AI might help the global economy grow by around 7 per cent over the next ten years, which could add nearly $7 trillion to the total value of goods and services. Even though there's still some doubt about how big its impact will be, Goldman Sachs economists Joseph Briggs and Devesh Kodnani mentioned that the technology's impact could be profound. Generative AI can create things like text, images and videos that look and sound just like they were made by humans. Because of this, the technology could lead to major changes in the global economy.

One Piece Heroines anime sparks debate, here's why fans are unhappy
Netflix recently released the first look of the much-awaited Season 2 of the One Piece live-action series. While several fans are excited for the same, some are not fully convinced about the idea and wish for a different story treatment to it, Dexerto reported. The streaming service's series comes at a time when another adaptation is already under development: a One Piece Heroines anime, which will be focused around the female-fronted manga spin-off. Oda continues to come up with stories that focus on the adventures of Monkey D Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates. In the past few decades, One Piece has witnessed a major evolution. Its anime version came out two years after the manga, featuring more than 1,100 episodes. Talking about One Piece novel Heroines getting made into an anime show, several fans have taken to social media platforms to express their views over the matter, while some shared spinoffs which they hoped could get the adaptation treatment instead. 'They should animate the Ace manga/novel. That would be so good with a proper studio behind it. And Boichi's style translates well into shonen," read a post on Reddit. Another one said that they could think about the 'Law novel too.' A third user added, 'They'll adapt anything other than Shokugeki no Sanji.' One person hoped that more of the novels get adapted in future. "Surprised it's taken them this long really. You just know fans would eat up an adaptation of the Ace novel/manga," they wrote. An individual said people really "can't wait for when they adapt Ace's, Law's, and Zoro's novels.' As of now, not many details are available about the upcoming project. But it is expected to follow the manga, focusing on stories from the women in the One Piece world, as per Dexerto. The project was made official during the One Piece Day 2025 as part of the Egghead Saga Voice Actors Special Stage Event. The spin-off manga, which has been penned by Jun Esaka and illustrated by Sayaka Suwa, narrates short stories that originally came out in the One Piece Magazine and were later added to two novels.
