Japan Records Hottest July in 127 Years
Japan has experienced its hottest July since records began in 1898, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency, as intense heat waves continue to sweep the country amid global climate change concerns.
The agency
reported
that the nationwide average temperature for July 2025 was 2.89°C above normal, breaking the previous record set just a year earlier in July 2024. This marks the third consecutive year that Japan has recorded its hottest July in history.
On Wednesday, a record high of 41.2°C was recorded in the western Hyogo region. This follows another historic high in June, which saw the hottest temperatures ever recorded for that month in Japan.
Meteorologists warn that extreme heat is expected to persist throughout August. The agency also noted significant climate shifts, including the rainy season ending three weeks earlier than usual in western parts of the country.

Rana Atef The General Authority for Meteorology predicts that on Sunday, August 3, temperatures will continue to drop in Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt. Dr. Mahmoud Shahin, the Director of Forecasting and Early Warning at the Meteorological Authority, revealed that the weather today will be hot and humid during the day in most regions, with extremely hot and humid conditions in South Sinai and southern parts of the country. The weather will be mild and humid at night and early in the morning. There will be light fog expected from 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM on many highways from and to Cairo. Moderate winds will blow across most areas, helping to cool the atmosphere at night. The maritime navigation in the Gulf of Suez will be disturbed, with wind speeds ranging from 30-50 km/h and waves reaching heights of 1.5 to 2.5 meters. There are also poor chances of light rain in scattered areas of the northern coasts, as well as Halayeb and Shalateen.
