Boston radio hosts rail against Aaron Rodgers' final season comments: ‘Douche move'
Courtney Cox of WEEI's Greg Hill Show didn't hold back in response to Aaron Rodgers' early days as a Steeler.
The former MVP revealed that the 2025 season would likely be his last earlier this week on 'The Pat McAfee Show.'
Cox lit him up over the airwaves this weekend.

'Give me a break with the 'I just wanted to do this for fun for my final (season) – it's been 20 years, haha, chuckle, chuckle. No, you did it so that you could tell everybody you're retiring and have a farewell tour. That's why you did it. You're an egomaniac, a narcissist,' she said.
Her co-host Greg Hill echoed the sentiment, calling Rodgers' decision to announce his possible retirement 'a douche move.'

Hill added, 'Training camp hasn't even started, and you need to declare that this is, this is the last (year). 'If you want to ask me about it when I come to your city, feel free to ask me about it. Feel free to bother all the other guys also all season long when you ask them about my last season.''

Cox later added that she may have been hypocritical but admitted that Rodgers himself was the driver of her reaction.
Cox said she would do the same thing if she were an athlete in Rodgers' shoes.

'The fact that it's Aaron Rodgers, that's why I hate it,' she said, later adding that she'd love it if Tom Brady did the same.

Executive producer Chris Curtis didn't pull any punches either, labeling the multiple MVP and future Hall of Famer as 'loathesome' and lamenting that the Steelers had chosen to embrace Rodgers.
'It's beneath the Steelers to bring this guy in. It's pathetic. I hate that (head coach Mike Tomlin) is on board with it,' he added. 'He's not good anymore.'

The criticism likely won't be unpopular given how polarizing Rodgers has become throughout his career, especially within the last half-decade or so.
Rodgers, 41, signed a one-year deal with Pittsburgh and will make approximately $13.6 million in 2025.
Last season, Rodgers threw for 3,897 passing yards and 28 touchdowns to 11 interceptions while starting for the New York Jets in what was ultimately a disappointing season.

Insider rejects Steelers' T.J. Watt $40 million deal: 'I hadn't heard that number'
The latest T.J. Watt contract update has been dismissed by insider Ian Rapoport. On Friday's episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Rapoport was asked to speak to the legitimacy of insider James Palmer's report that Watt was expected to earn more than Myles Garrett's $40 million per year — and this was his response: Advertisement "I have not heard that," Rapoport said. "If he gets more than Myles, I would say that is awesome for T.J. These are the guys you pay. He's great. He's a good guy, he is a face of that franchise, and like, these are the kinds of guys who should be paid all the money and should retire as a member of the Steelers. ... I still think it's going to work out, but I hadn't heard that number and I hadn't heard that anything is imminent." Garrett can breathe a sigh of relief, as Rapoport's comments somewhat instill confidence that the Browns superstar will remain the highest-paid defender. It's worth noting that these updates are entirely speculative until Watt puts pen to paper — and hopefully that happens sooner than later, so both parties can put this situation to bed.
