The story was shared by social media content creator Tanay Tiwari on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast, revealing how Sharma's understanding response helped save his career when he was a 21-year-old intern with the

The incident occurred during an interview setup with the then MI captain Rohit when Tiwari was working as an intern. The cramped interview space with a small table led to the unfortunate accident.

"When I was an intern with Mumbai Indians, I accidentally spilled hot coffee on him. I was interviewing him and it was a really small table, with a camera, and in a rush I spilled the coffee," Tiwari recounted.
The situation initially appeared dire for the young intern, as a member of Sharma's team strongly reprimanded him for the mishap.

"There was someone there from his team with him, and she really scolded me a lot, a lot. And I was 21 in 2017. I was about to cry, I was thinking my career was over even before it began."
However, Rohit Sharma's response to the situation demonstrated his characteristic composure and understanding nature.
"He was like, 'Jaane de yaar, baccha hai (let it go, he's a kid.) You ask your question, it's only coffee that has spilled, don't worry.' He saved my career then."
The incident proved to be a turning point for Tiwari, who has since established himself as a prominent figure as a content creator, amassing nearly 500,000 Instagram followers and securing a position with JioHotstar's coverage of the

and the Indian national team.

"Quite a few times [I've told him]. I met him and couldn't say anything except thank you. I told him Rohit bhai, you probably don't know how much happiness you've given, to how many different people. He was like 'Arrey yaar, aaja yaar (Come here),'" Tiwari shared, indicating Sharma's continued friendly demeanour.
