The Gunners agreed a £63.5million deal with Sporting Lisbon to finally sign the prolific striker to bolster Mikel Arteta's frontline.
But Arsenal are not expected to cease their transfer dealings this summer for the former Coventry City and Brighton forward.
The Independent have claimed that the Crystal Palace star is favouring a move to North London this summer.
It is suggested that there is a confidence that he will make the move across London.

And Arsenal are keen to sign the attacking midfielder for less than his £68m release clause, which the Eagles are demanding be met.
The report states that the Gunners will offer £60m but on "amenable" terms for Palace.
It is also claimed that there is a good relationship between the clubs and they would both be "flexible".
Palace have previously signed the likes of Eddie Nketiah, Rob Holding and Marouane Chamakh.

Arsenal has been hoping to split the deal into £20m instalments, and they could also include Reiss Nelson in negotiations.
Eze, 27, has established himself as one of the most exciting players in the Premier League since his arrival at Selhurst Park.

Last season, he scored 14 goals and assisted 11 in 43 appearances in all competitions.
He also scored Palace's FA Cup-winning goal against Manchester City back in May.
During the Eagles' run to the final, Eze scored in all but one game as he netted against Stockport, Fulham and Aston Villa.
Eze has also established himself as a regular member of the England squad and has earned 11 caps.
He joined Palace back in 2020 in a £17m switch from Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers.
Meanwhile, Arteta has already added Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera to his squad this summer.

William Saliba drops telling two-word update on Arsenal contract talks

Arsenal defender William Saliba was asked about progress on a new contract after the Gunners beat Newcastle 3-2 in Singapore as their preparations for the new season continue William Saliba says he will sign a contract extension with Arsenal"hopefully soon" following speculation that the club want to tie him down to a new deal soon. ‌ The Gunners have been busy in the transfer market ahead of the new Premier League season after finishing second for a third successive campaign. Deals for Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera were all wrapped up last week as Mikel Arteta 's men headed off for their pre-season tour. ‌ And Arsenal followed their strong early business up by finalising a deal for Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon over the weekend. ‌ Contract talks have also been on the club's agenda this summer and there has been noise over potential talks with Saliba, who has been heavily linked with Real Madrid in recent months. The France international, 24, was asked when he was signing a new Gunners contract after Sunday's 3-2 win over Newcastle in Singapore by AFTV - and he replied positively. "Hopefully soon," Saliba said before crossing his fingers and pointing to the sky, adding: "God is great." ‌ Saliba committing his future to the club long-term would be a major boost for Arsenal. The former Saint-Etienne man has struck up a formidable partnership with Gabriel at the heart of Arsenal's defence and his current terms expire in 2027. His imperious performances for Arsenal over the past few years has seen him emerge as a target for Real Madrid, who are thought to be keen on signing Saliba next year when the Frenchman will have just 12 months left on his deal. Arsenal, though, remain determined to keep hold of one of their top stars for the foreseeable future. ‌ Speaking earlier this year, Saliba declared he was "really happy" at Arsenal in the wake of transfer speculation. "I've been here for two years and a half as well. There is nothing. I'm happy here and I want to continue here," he said. "I want to win big things with Arsenal. If you leave this club without winning anything the fans will forget about you. I want to win big things here. "I want to be one day the best defender in the world. I know I have to work a lot and to win trophies as well – but that's my dream." Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. Man Utd transfer news: Red Devils on ‘alert' for major hijack as bombshell move made

Manchester United have already spent heavily this summer but the Red Devils' work in the transfer market looks far from finished with deals for Gianluigi Donnarumma and Idrissa Gueye Manchester United have spent heavily this summer as Ruben Amorim attempts to get the side back on track. Matheus Cunha became the Red Devils' first summer signing a few months ago. ‌ And he was very quickly followed by another big-name arrival as United chiefs finally got a £71m deal for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo over the line. But Amorim's side might not be totally finished there. ‌ A striker and a new goalkeeper are among the players that they could move for in the remainder of the window. But with three weeks to go until their Premier League opener against Arsenal, they need to get a move on. ‌ Away from incomings, a few more exits might also be on the agenda. Marcus Rashford has already completed a loan move to Barcelona, while Antony, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho could all still leave. With all of that being said, take a look at all of the latest transfer news and rumours from Old Trafford. United on 'alert' for Donnarumma Manchester United are keeping a close eye on developments surrounding Gianluigi Donnarumma's future at PSG. Talks over a new contract for the Italian goalkeeper have come to a standstill over recent weeks, and it appears that the French giants are ready to move on. ‌ According to L'Equipe, they are in talks with Ligue 1 rivals Lille regarding a deal for Lucas Chevalier, who is seen as a replacement for Donnarumma. And that has seen a couple of Premier League sides sit up and take notice. Manchester United have a long-term interest in the former AC Milan man, while Manchester City are also eyeing him as a possible replacement for Ederson should he decide to leave the Etihad. Red Devils plot Brentford hijack Manchester United could be set to frustrate Brentford more after their protracted move for Bryan Mbeumo. According to The Sun, they are going head-to-head with the Bees for the signing of Metz teenager Idrissa Gueye. ‌ The youngster caught the eye in Ligue 2 last season, scoring five goals in 17 appearances. United see him as one for the future, while Brentford would offer him first-team football straight away. Man United have already been left annoyed by Brentford's actions this summer during their talks regarding forward Bryan Mbeumo. ‌ Amorim confirms Mbeumo plan Speaking of United's recent signing, boss Ruben Amorim has confirmed that Mbeumo is not quite ready to make his debut for the Red Devils yet. He said: 'Bryan is starting slowly. "He is not going to play in the next one. We hope to have Bryan in the last game [in the United States]. He's training now, so we'll see." Mbeumo's £71m move to Old Trafford was finally confirmed last week. Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. Sarina Wiegman to keep on dancing after ‘chaotic and ridiculous' Euro 2025 win

Substitute Chloe Kelly, whose extra-time winner at Wembley secured the Lionesses their first major trophy three summers ago, was once again the hero, coolly converting in the shootout with the World Cup holders following a 1-1 extra-time stalemate. Wiegman has now led teams – first the Netherlands, now England – to the trophy at the last three European Championships, though none, admitted the Dutchwoman, was more 'chaotic' and 'ridiculous' as this. "England are crowned queens of European football again!" 😍 Re-live it all! 👇🍿 — Lionesses (@Lionesses) July 27, 2025 'I'm very happy,' said Wiegman. 'I actually can't believe it myself. It was like, 'how can it happen?' but it happened. I am so incredibly proud of the team and the staff.' Wiegman was spotted busting a move after Kelly once again rose to the highest occasion, and plans to keep letting loose – perhaps to the chagrin of her phone, which twice reminded the England boss during her post-match press conference that she was due a workout. 'I'll do some more dancing,' said Wiegman. 'And I'll have a drink, but I don't think I will drink as much as the players.' Though the Lionesses insisted they had moved on, Sunday's triumph also avenged the 2023 World Cup final, where England were beaten by Spain 1-0 in Sydney in their first global showpiece final. Spain were first-time finalists in this competition but the favourites, and came one step closer to the title when Arsenal's Mariona Caldentey nodded home a 25th-minute opener. But Kelly teed up Russo for a header of her own and 57th-minute equaliser, while two spectacular saves by Hannah Hampton in the shootout opened the door for Kelly to write more history as the Lionesses became the first senior English football team to lift a major trophy on foreign soil. 'I must admit that this is the most chaotic and ridiculous tournament we have played,' Wiegman added. 'Every time we could come back, in the quarter-final and the semi-final and the final, we came from behind. Of course we have players that have talents, and the togetherness of this team is really, really incredible, but also the belief that we can come back. 'The players say we can win by any means, and we just never, ever give up.' England's title defence was hanging by a thread following their 2-1 opening defeat to France, but group stage victories over the Netherlands then Wales kept their title defence alive. Lucy Bronze and Michelle Agyemang scored late in their Sweden quarter-final, ultimately setting up a chaotic, error-strewn shootout, won by Bronze with England's seventh try. It took Kelly's extra-time winner from off the bench in their Italy semi-final to book their place in the Spain showdown – after 19-year-old standout Michelle Agyemang had netted another incredible equaliser. Even before her heroics in Basel, Kelly, at these Euros, had come in with the joint-most chances created (eight) and most successful crosses (10) of any substitute in a single tournament since Opta started analysing major women's tournaments in 2011. And while Wiegman conceded there had been moments in this campaign – and particularly the Sweden and Italy matches – Sunday's comeback was never in doubt. Asked if there was a moment her belief had wavered, Wiegman replied: 'To be honest, tonight, I didn't.'
