Ragini said that being referred to as only Govinda's niece increased her struggle as a newcomer and added, 'I don't understand this, because he is in the acting realm and has done a lot of work, so it's easier for people to remember him. The audience has become very convenient — they don't want to remember a person's name, only the relationship. If that fetches viewership for producers, that's what everyone encourages. But I feel it actually increases your struggle as a newcomer. You're burdened with such a heavy image and responsibility.'
She added, 'All my cousins get the title of Govinda's nephews. I feel it's unfair to him. There are many cousins who have done substantial work now and don't deserve to be referred to only through that connection. He's never said anything to us — he's very sweet that way — but I think it's unfair. After so much work, people should remember the talent, or not interview us at all. It discredits the person's talent and hard work. If, after everything I've done, people still remember me only for my relationship with my uncle, then I wonder — where is my work in the picture? How long will one keep using someone's name? I don't like using his name because he is legendary to me.'

Several filmmakers and producers have slammed actors for unnecessarily having too many people around them. Now, Komal Nahta has weighed in on the debate. He recalled how a big actor's costume designer once charged Rs 20,000 just to fix his collar. Speaking to Faridoon Shahryar on his YouTube channel, Komal Nahta said, 'Entourage doesn't interfere in the script of the film or its making. The negative points of entourage are the cost to the producer and the irritation value. They irritate the smooth functioning. The entourage doesn't have the power to turn a good film into a bad one, but it is definitely a waste of money." Recalling an incident when a star had a massive entourage, he said, 'Even for an appearance, an actor will come with 8 to 9 people. The big star came with the costume designer, social media manager, photographer, two bouncers, despite us providing security, makeup man, and hairdresser. He literally came wearing a suit, got down from the flight and reached the venue." Komal recalled, 'And the costume designer, just to justify her payment…" Komal adjusted his collar and said, 'That is all she did (fixed his collar), and the organiser had to pay her Rs 20,000." Previously, the likes of Anurag Kashyap, Shoojit Sircar and Rajeev Masand have criticised the rising costs of Bollywood entourages. Rajeev Masand, the COO of the Dharma Cornerstone Agency, told The Hollywood Reporter India, 'I do think that costs have spiralled irrationally. If hair and makeup are getting paid more than the editor of a film or the writer of a film, there's a problem. Actors need to take a stand, but really, the ball is finally in the court of the producers. They need to unite and say we're not going to encourage this." Actors like Kriti Sanon, John Abraham and Jackie Shroff have openly discussed the matter. Kriti Sanon told Bollywood Bubble, 'When we talk about hair, makeup, and costume, they make the character to a large extent. Having said that, there are a lot of unnecessary entourage, which sometimes certain actors might get. We have to be mindful of it." John Abraham told The Hollywood Reporter India, 'We can't load a film with entourage costs as well. It's ridiculous. Are Aanand L Rai and Dhanush considering legal action against AI-altered 'Raanjhanaa'?
Amidst the frenzy and backlash surrounding the AI-altered version of the film 'Raanjhanaa', filmmaker Aanand L Rai has hinted at possibly taking the legal route to protect his creative interest. The director came down heavily against the 'unauthorised' altered re-release of his film and issued a strong statement condemning the new, 'happy' ending. The modified version was released on August 1 under its Tamil title 'Ambikapathy' by Eros International, allegedly, without the consent of the original creative team, including lead actor Dhanush . Taking The Legal Route According to Bollywood Bubble, Rai confirmed that both he and Dhanush are seriously considering legal action over what they describe as a blatant violation of creative integrity. "This sets a very dangerous precedent," Rai said in an official statement. "I am very worried about my other films. So is Dhanush. We are actively looking at judicial remedies to restore and preserve our creative content." Dhanush and Anand L Rai's Statements Rai had previously taken to Instagram to express his shock saying, "The past three weeks have been surreal and deeply upsetting… Raanjhanaa was altered, repackaged, and re-released without my knowledge or consent. It's devastating." Dhanush also slammed the AI-altered ending of the film. In a statement on his official handles, he wrote, "The alternate ending has stripped the film of its very soul, and the concerned parties went ahead with it despite my clear objection. This is not the film I committed to 12 years ago." Meanwhile, the company's group CEO Pradeep Dwivedi reacted to the backlash saying, "This is a creative reimagining, not a replacement, and is consistent with global industry practices, including anniversary editions, alternate cuts, and modernised remasters." The incident has reignited debate in the entertainment industry about the ethical and legal implications of AI in filmmaking. While generative tools are increasingly being used for restoration, dubbing, and VFX, the unauthorised modification of film plots and stories has raised concerns.
