The arrest was made during a search operation in the forest area between Rasarayi–Burralapanuku–Chintaguppa villages of Killamkota panchayat in G Madugula mandal. Chaitho, a native of Bhaliaput village in Koraput district of Odisha, was drawn into the outfit in 2011 at the age of 15 through revolutionary songs.

He worked with the technical wing of the Andhra–Odisha border special zonal committee (AOBSZC) from 2013 to 2016 and was promoted to divisional committee member in 2025.

Tensions flare in Indore after temple statues vandalised & thrown into Kanh river

Indore: Tensions prevailed near Sanjay Bridge in Indore after statues from a temple on the banks of the Kanh river were found uprooted and thrown into the water. The incident came to light on Saturday morning when locals arrived at the temple and found the statues missing. Upon learning of the incident, Bajrang Dal activists and locals began a search in the river, where they managed to retrieve some of the vandalised statues. The recovered statues were washed and cleaned by the community members. Following the discovery, the activists proceeded to Kotwali police station to demand that an FIR be registered. The protesters' anger was fuelled by the fact that this was not the first time the temple was targeted. Just a day earlier, on Friday, a similar incident occurred at a Lord Shiva temple on the banks of the river, where cattle remains were allegedly found. Kotwali station house officer Ravindra Parashar assured the protesters that the culprits would be apprehended within a week. The police have taken an application regarding the statues being thrown into the river and have launched an investigation. The repeated incidents of vandalism at the temple have left the local community deeply angered, demanding immediate action from the authorities. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo "We have registered a case under section 299 (which deals with deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings) and 331 (1) of BNS (lurking house-trespass or house-breaking). Ludhiana police civil department clerk conned in NRI marriage cyber scam.

Ludhiana: A Punjab Police civil department employee lost nearly ₹79 lakh after being tricked by a cyber fraudster who posed as an NRI suitor and proposed marriage, authorities said. Amarjit Kaur, a clerk posted at the DIG Ludhiana range office and resident of Pamal village, filed a complaint after realising she had been defrauded. She had advertised for marriage when a man claiming to be from England contacted her over WhatsApp, police said. According to her statement, the man introduced her to a woman posing as his mother and another as his sister to gain her trust. He later told her he was sending an expensive "shagun" gift that had been stopped at customs, demanding repeated payments to secure its release. Investigators said Kaur deposited funds five times, totalling ₹79 lakh, through accounts provided by the accused. When the man's phone was later switched off and no gift arrived, she reported the fraud to SSP Ludhiana Rural Ankur Gupta. The cyber crime police station has registered a case against unknown persons. ASI Jagroop Singh, the investigating officer, said efforts are underway to trace the bank accounts used in the scam. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Could This NEW Collagen Blend Finally Reduce Your Cellulite? 'Crowd here not to listen, but to see how I look after losing', said Vajpayee after 1984 poll loss

Nagpur: Recalling former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee 's trademark wit, BJP city president and ex-mayor Dayashankar Tiwari on Sunday narrated how the veteran leader turned even electoral defeat into humour during his 61st birthday celebration in Nagpur. Speaking at the launch of 'Retirement', a book by city cardiologist Dr Kirti Tanna, Tiwari said that after Vajpayee lost the 1985 Lok Sabha election from Gwalior in the aftermath of Indira Gandhi's assassination, he was invited to Nagpur for his 61st birthday. Addressing the gathering then, Vajpayee had quipped that for the first time, people had not come to hear him speak, but to see how he looked after defeat. "Delivered with his trademark wit, the line drew laughter and admiration, showcasing his ability to turn setbacks into moments of connection and humour," Tiwari said. During the same event, Vajpayee was presented with a gift bag of ₹11 lakh arranged by the then party treasurer Vitthaldas Loya. In his inimitable style, Vajpayee joked that Loya was "a smart man who knows every penny," and a true Maheshwari, once again displaying his sharpness and ease of engagement. Explaining why his 61st birthday was special, Vajpayee had said that while in Maharashtra the 61st birthday is traditionally celebrated, in Uttar Pradesh it is believed a man becomes a true pundit only after 60. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Tiwari noted that Vajpayee's reflections on age were a testament to how one should live beyond 60 — with grace, humour and wisdom — qualities also echoed in Tanna's book. Dr Tanna said the launch of 'Retirement' was the fulfilment of a long-cherished dream shared with his wife. Having completed seven decades of life and over 40 years in medical practice, he described the book as his contribution to society. "Retirement is often seen as negative, a full stop. But today it is a comma — an opportunity to explore new choices," he said. Earlier, retirement meant pilgrimage and devotion, but now it can also mean travel, friendships, hobbies, and self-discovery. Stressing more on the psychological than the financial aspect, Tanna urged people to embrace this stage with enthusiasm, step out, spend time with friends and maintain balance. "There is no commercial motive, only the intent to change perceptions," he added. Former MP Girish Vyas, recalling his bond with Tanna's father, said the book is a must-read for anyone nearing retirement. He praised its clarity, use of data on global retirees' happiness, and ability to evoke reflections similar to films like Baghban. RSS city chief Rajesh Loya described retirement as "remodelling oneself." Lauding Tanna beyond his role as a skilled doctor and social worker, he said the book revealed an inspiring personal side rooted in strong values.
