It is the first year that the popular show hasn't aired semi-finals every weeknight at the end of May, as scheduling changes were changed to weekly slots by ITV bosses earlier this year.
The iconic golden buzzer now also appears during the live shows, with one act being sent straight to the final each week.
Previously, the golden buzzer had only featured during audition rounds since it was launched back in series eight.

Harry and Meghan's 'fate sealed' by Queen's crunch Trooping the Colour decision

In the months after Prince Harry and Meghan quit their royal duties for a new life in California, the late Queen made a major decision over the Trooping the Colour guest list, which is still impacting the annual event With Trooping the Colour right around the corner, all the senior working royals are expected to step out on Saturday to celebrate the King's birthday, and revel in the magnificent procession to Buckingham Palace. And while most of the notable royal family members will make an appearance on the day, there will be a select few faces that will be missing. This is largely due to a rule instituted by the late Queen Elizabeth, following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle 's exodus from the Firm. Before the Sussexes took a step back from royal life to relocate to California in 2020, the couple attended two Trooping the Colour events: the first in 2018, shortly after their wedding at Windsor Castle, and again in 2019, just one month after the birth of their son Archie. ‌ ‌ The annual event came to a standstill in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid pandemic. The celebration still went ahead, but as a very scaled back version in Windsor as opposed to London. In years past, the late Queen Elizabeth would often invite the royal family at large to join her on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the RAF flypast, but that all changed for the return of the grand Trooping the Colour event in 2022, which coincided with the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. For the first time, the Queen decided to only invite working members of the royal family to the balcony, meaning both Harry and Meghan, along with Prince Andrew, were omitted from the royal line up. At the time, Buckingham Palace said the monarch's decision to only include royals carrying out official public duties was taken "after careful consideration". The symbolic gesture meant Harry and Meghan, who had left royal life behind, and Prince Andrew, were not able to attend the event in an official capacity. While Harry and Meghan were in attendance at the 2022 event, they kept a very low profile. They watched the parade from a window and were also not part of the carriage procession. ‌ The royals who were lucky enough to receive an invitation from the Queen to join her on the balcony for Trooping was the then-Prince Charles and Camilla, William and Kate, Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex, Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent, Princess Alexandra, and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence. The monarch made an exception for Anne's husband Sir Tim, who is not a working royal, her two youngest grandchildren Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn, and her great-grandchildren George, Charlotte and Louis. ‌ Deciding to stick to the precedent set by his late mother, King Charles also opted for a striped-back balcony appearance in 2023 and 2024. The balcony appearance in 2023 was one of the smallest groupings in recent royal history, with the King being joined by his wife Queen Camilla, the Wales family, Princess Anne, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, while the Duke of Kent and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester stood off to the side. In 2024, there were only 15 royals on the balcony, as the King was joined by Queen Camilla, the Prince and Princess of Wales, their three children, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their daughter Lady Louise, Princess Anne, her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent. While the guest list for the 2025 Trooping the Colour has yet to be confirmed, it is likely that another sparse royal balcony is expected.

Just One Dish — Yannick Alléno

'I grew up in the kitchen,' says Yannick Alléno from his first UK restaurant, Pavyllon, at Four Seasons, Park Lane, in London. From a very young age, Alléno spent much of his childhood helping out at the various bistros his parents ran in the Parisian suburbs. By the time he reached the wise age of eight, he'd set his sights on running his own establishment. Good thing too, as he is now one of the most decorated chefs in the world — holding 17 Michelin stars across his 19 restaurants. Born in Puteaux, on the border of Paris, the culinary champ's first lessons came from his grandmother, who would teach Alléno and his cousins the craft of cooking during their summer holidays at her countryside house. Official training started at age 15 when he enrolled in the catering and hospitality school — Lycée Santos-Dumont in Saint-Cloud. Various apprenticeships with top chefs followed. Even now, despite being at the height of his game, he is insistent that the learning never stops. 'We learn every day. That's the beauty of the job,' he says. Alléno won his first Michelin star in 1999 for Scribe in Paris. The following stars came in quick succession. He now has something of an empire with his multitude of restaurants, a boutique chocolate shop in Paris as well as a food magazine called YAM — Yannick Alléno Magazine. Despite all this grandeur, one of Alléno's favourite dishes is the humble eggs benedict. 'Breakfast is the most important meal of the day,' he insists. And it is all about the sauce. 'For me, 80 per cent of the success of the plate is the sauce.' Watch the video to learn how to make Michelin-starred eggs benedict — from the king of sauces himself. IngredientsFor the reduction • 10g finely chopped shallot• 10g white wine vinegar• 10g water• 2g crushed white peppercorns For the sabayon and finish • 50g egg yolks• 10g finished vinegar reduction• 150g cold unsalted butter, diced• 10g fresh lemon juice• 2g fine salt• White pepper or espelette pepper 1. Make the reduction — combine the shallot, vinegar, water and crushed peppercorns in a small saucepan.2. Reduce slowly over low heat until nearly dry, leaving around 10g of concentrated liquid.3. Strain through a fine sieve and reserve the reduction.4. Prepare the sabayon — in a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and 10g of the reserved reduction.5. Place the bowl over a gentle bain-marie.6. Whisk continuously until the mixture thickens, becomes airy, and reaches a temperature of 60-65C.7. Incorporate the butter.8. Remove the bowl from the heat or reduce the heat under the bain-marie.9. Add the cold diced butter gradually, whisking constantly to create a smooth and glossy emulsion.10. Continue until all the butter is fully incorporated and the sauce has a light, creamy consistency.11. Finish and season.12. Add the lemon juice, salt, and a touch of white pepper or espelette pepper.13. Taste and adjust the seasoning.14. Hold warm at 45-55C until serving. Direction: Mona TehraniDOP: Steve Turvey

Love Island fans say same thing after 'chaotic' teaser as 'drama' hits villa

Love Island 2025 viewers were left excited about Wednesday's episode of the ITV2 series after a tomorrow night teaser revealed things get steamy and no doubt dramatic It looks like Love Island is heating up just days in, as following the first exit of the series there's two new bombshells. Not only that but a tomorrow night teaser hinted at new drama, new romance and plenty of "chaos". Viewers watching the clip narrated by Iain Stirling at the end of Tuesday's episode were thrilled, saying "we're so back". ‌ Viewers are now excited to see Wednesday's visit to the villa, after host Maya Jama returned to the famous compound in the latest episode to send Sophie Lee packing. There's two new boys on the way, and soon a drinking game stirs things up. ‌ There seems to be a game of dares or something similar, and soon enough the Islanders are locking lips with people they are not currently paired up with. There's gasps, unimpressed faces and plenty of carnage judging by a short clip that aired. Viewers couldn't wait to see the scenes in full, taking to X to share their excitement. It seems Megan gets cosy with someone, leaving her partner Tommy not too happy just a day on from them sharing a kiss. Harry also seems bothered about something, while Alima shares a kiss with a bombshell - leaving fans hoping she may get with a new man after things became awkward with Blu. With Blu expressing an interest in Shakira on Tuesday, fans are hoping he'll be ditched very soon. As for the teaser clip for Wednesday, fans said they were ready for the "drama" and "chaos". One viewer posted: "Tomorrow's episode is looking chaotic." Another said: "We are so back," as a third added: "ROLL ON TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!!!!" A fourth fan posted: "Finally some good looking guys and some drama, tomorrow is looking good," while another wrote: "That tomorrow night omds. Yeah this season is going to be a top one." ‌ Another comment read: "TOMORROW NIGHT LOOKING GOOODDDD." It comes after Sophie was axed from the show in the latest episode. Despite not initially being at risk of an early exit, the motivational speaker and author was abruptly booted out of the villa after her man Harry was chosen by newly single Shakira. It was Shakira who had been told by host Maya Jama in the previous episode that she could be leaving within hours. Shakira had just 24 hours to woo another man, after her partner Ben was stolen by American bombshell Toni. As the 22 year old, who works in marketing, got grafting she soon had to choose a man to pair up with. ‌ But there was a catch, and the boys had to agree to couple up with her. As the time came on Tuesday night, host Maya was back in the villa ready for the proceedings. She asked the boys if any of them wanted to ditch their current girl for Shakira, meaning their partners would be at risk of being dumped. Three boys stood up, leaving their current girls rattled. Blu, Conor and Harry all chose to opt for Shakira, knowing full well she'd only be able to pick one of them. It wasn't an easy choice, more so because she knew, as clarified by Maya, that the girl left single would be going home instead of her. ‌ With the three boys standing, Shakira's fate was sealed. It was then Helena, Alima and Sophie who were at risk. It came down to Shakira choosing out of the three boys, with some encouragement from Maya. Maya urged the Islander to remember why she was here, no doubt trying to lessen her panic over sending a girl home but also so she would make the right choice. With that, Shakira named Harry as the man she wanted to steal. Sophie was immediately dumped from the villa as a result, as Maya confirmed she was now single and would be leaving the show.
