Expert makes bombshell Diana claim about Prince Harry and William's ongoing feud
A royal biographer has suggested that Princess Diana would have played the role of a "peacemaker" amidst the ongoing feud between Prince William and Prince Harry.
Andrew Morton, renowned for his documentation of the late Princess of Wales' life, claims that the continuing tension between Diana's sons is a "great loss for the monarchy", as he states that she would have 'put an end to the cold war' between the princes.
Despite their lack of communication following years of public criticism from the Sussexes, both William and Harry continue to honour their late mother's legacy through various charitable endeavours, as they gear up to commemorate the 28th anniversary of Diana's death.
This follows Prince Harry's recent admission that he still considers himself part of the Royal Family.
When Princess Diana tragically passed away on August 31, 1997, William and Harry, then aged 15 and 12 respectively, were united in their sorrow.
Fast forward to the present day, and the brothers couldn't be more distant, but Royal biographer Andrew Morton believes that Diana would have been instrumental in building bridges, reports the Mirror.
Speaking to People, he said: "Diana always used to say she had two boys for a reason - the younger would be there to support the older in the lonely task as future King. There is no doubt Diana would have tried to act as a peacemaker between them. If she had been around, they would have worked things out in a different way."
He added: "We all remember the days when Harry and William were joshing with one another, and it all seemed set for their relationship and the future - that Harry, as Diana always used to say, would be William's wingman. It's a great loss for the monarchy."
Relations between William and Harry deteriorated in 2020 when Harry and wife Meghan Markle stepped back from royal duties and moved to California. The divide only widened following the Sussexes' 2021 sit-down with Oprah Winfrey and Harry's 2023 tell-all book Spare, both of which took aim at senior members of 'the Firm'.
According to Andrew Morton: "Things were said that sparked the initial rift, and it's never healed."
Harry himself reflected this view during a BBC interview in May, stating: "Some members of my family will never forgive me."
Harry has been vocal about his desire for reconciliation with his relatives. Speculation about a potential peace deal emerged last month when senior advisers to both Harry and King Charles were seen at a London meeting, though William's team were reportedly excluded from the gathering.
Insiders have suggested that Harry's phone calls and texts to William have been ignored, with Robert Lacey, author of Battle of Brothers, explaining: "They both deeply believe that they're fighting for profound points of principle."
Whilst a royal reunion remains elusive, countless supporters continue to wish for the brothers to make amends, with many believing it would honour Diana's memory. A source close to the Royal household expressed: "This is the sadness of it - they aren't supporting each other like they should be. That's what any mother would want - that they are there for each other."

Prince William William began his studies at the esteemed Eton College in 1995 and when he collected his A-level results five years later in 2000, his grades were a slight mixed bag. He achieved an A in geography, a B in art and a C in biology. These grades secured him a place to study History of Art at St Andrews University in Scotland, but he later switched courses to Geography. His time at university proved to be significant in more than just academics as this is when he met his future wife Kate and their romance blossomed. He graduated from St Andrews with a 2:1 degree. Kate Middleton William and Kate have long been known for their competitive nature - and Kate outperformed William in their A-levels, earning better grades than him on results day. She attended Marlborough College in Wiltshire for her A-levels and her diligence resulted in As in Maths and Art, and a B in English. Her impressive grades secured her a place at St Andrew's University in Scotland - where she would meet her future husband. Like William, Kate took a gap year before starting university and the pair undertook a very similar trip, although their dates didn't overlap. Kate graduated from St Andrews in 2005 with a 2:1 in History of Art. Prince Harry It's fair to say that Prince Harry wasn't as academically inclined as his older brother William during his time at Eton. He left the prestigious school with slightly lower grades - a B in Art and D in Geography at A-level. However, during his school years, Harry was House Captain of Games, represented the school in rugby, cricket and polo, and was a member of the Combined Cadet Force. After completing his A-levels in 2003, Harry took a gap year, travelling to Australia, Africa and Argentina. He opted not to attend university, instead joining the Army where he embarked on a successful military career. King Charles King Charles had a unique education compared to his sons, as his father, the late Prince Philip, was adamant about sending him to Gordonstoun, a private school in Scotland that blends academics with outdoor activities. He left with five O-levels (GCSEs) and two A-levels - a B in History and a C in French. He then proceeded to Cambridge University where he earned a 2:2 degree in History. It's rumoured that his bodyguard, who attended all lectures with the young prince, also sat the exams and achieved a First. Meghan Markle Meghan Markle, having been educated in America, did not follow the same exam system as the rest of the Royal Family. Meghan, who began her secondary education at Immaculate Heart High School in 1992, was known as a diligent and focused student. The US doesn't use GCSEs or A-levels for student assessment, and while Meghan's SAT scores (the test used for university entry) haven't been disclosed, it's known that she achieved the grades necessary for university admission. She went on to earn a double major in Theatre and International Relations from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in 2003. During her university years, she undertook an internship at the US Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she picked up Spanish. She also studied French for six years. Queen Camilla Camilla first attended Dumbrells School in Sussex, before moving on to Queen's Gate School in South Kensington. However, she only managed to secure one O-level and didn't achieve any A-levels. Following this, she attended Mon Fertile, a finishing school in Switzerland, and also studied at the Institut Britannique in Paris. Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice Princess Eugenie is likely the most academically accomplished Royal in terms of grades. Her two As in Art and English Literature and B in History of Art, surpassed her older sister Princess Beatrice, who received an A in Drama and Bs in History and Film Studies. N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos opens up on suicide attempts and sex tape leak
The X-Factor and I'm A Celebrity star has opened up about her struggles with addiction and two attempts to take her own life in her new book. One of the most harrowing chapters in Tulisa Contostavlos's life unfolded in June 2013. It was a Friday evening when she discovered she was being charged with suspected involvement in supplying Class A drugs. The N-Dubz sensation had been ensnared by a sting operation orchestrated by undercover journalist Mazher Mahmood - known as the Fake Sheikh - concerning cocaine supply allegations. The drugs case ultimately crumbled when the reporter was exposed for lying in his testimony - yet the trauma of the experience left Tulisa shattered, reports the Mirror. According to Tulisa, it became her "year from hell" and drove her to two suicide attempts. Her heartfelt new memoir, Judgement: Love, Trials, and Tribulations, begins with Tulisa intoxicated on her bathroom floor after learning at 11pm on a Friday that she faced charges for being concerned in supplying Class A drugs. She's clutching a fistful of tablets, she's unsure what they are; she attempts to Google them but has no mobile signal. Regardless, she prays they will end her life. She consumes them in pairs. She writes: "I can't do this anymore, I thought, not another six months of this. I just about got through the first six, but I'm not built for this. "Why is this happening to me? What's the point in being alive just to be miserable? How am I ever going to find happiness after this? "Even if I'm found innocent, I'll be empty inside by the time I get to the end of it, and my life will be ruined." It was her former best mate and PA, Gareth Varey, who discovered her unconscious on the floor, surrounded by empty packets of sleeping pills. Paramedics arrived and insisted they needed to take her to hospital for a check-up, but Tulisa refused. Instead, the medical team stayed until they deemed it safe to leave, instructing her loved ones to keep a close eye on her. But that night in June wasn't the only time Tulisa made heartbreaking attempts to end her life. A second incident occurred shortly after, between her trial - which ultimately fell apart - and Mahmood's trial for tampering with her evidence. This attempt, she says, was 'more definitive'. "I felt empty inside as if all the joy had been sucked out of me and would never return. So I took a cocktail of sleeping tablets in a bid to never wake up." Fortunately, she had sent a series of odd messages to friends, and best friend Cat immediately sensed something was amiss and managed to get her to unlock the front door, just before she lost consciousness. "She later said when she found me that she thought I was already dead as I was seemingly blue from head to toe – she could see veins running up my neck and through my face – so she rang for an ambulance. "Cat told me a few years later when I finally asked, and how the ambulance crew were desperately trying to keep me alive and how Cat thought I was going to die. I was in hospital for three days and when I finally came around the first thing I said was, 'Why the f**k am I still here? !' That moment I did remember." In other parts of the book, Tulisa candidly discusses her chaotic upbringing in a home plagued by her mother's schizoaffective disorder and domestic violence. Throughout the memoir - which chronicles the ordeal of her drugs charges and the trial's collapse - she frequently retreats to the bathroom, poignantly describing it as her sole sanctuary. She reveals she spent five nights sleeping on the bathroom floor after her intimate video with former partner Justin Edwards was made public in 2012. "When I was a child, the bathroom was the only room in my house with a lock. I had always locked myself in there in times of distress, whether it was because my parents were going at it like two bulls in a china shop again, or my mentally ill mother was going off the rails. "It had always been my place of safety. And twenty years later, here I was: back lying on the bathroom floor. Deeprooted issues, I suppose. When the sex tape had come out, I had slept on the bathroom floor for five days." Tulisa also reveals her struggle with mental health issues and her reliance on sleep medication and benzodiazepines, which she finally overcame in 2024 after she 'found her peace and faith'. She speaks openly in the book about her intimate life and romantic relationships, including her connections with former footballer Danny Simpson, an ex called Adam, Jack O'Connell, and with an older gentleman named Jacob, who she has had an "almost ten-year journey with that still in a way continues to this day". Describing him as 'no angel', and their romance as 'rocky', she says their 'drama' has prevented them from settling down together. Discussing her three and-a-half-year period of celibacy following her break up from Miles, she clarifies that rather than being extreme, she consistently preferred to wait until a relationship was exclusive to become intimate. Fast-forward to today, and Tulisa reveals she is pushing herself to date once more in pursuit of a fresh beginning. However, it's not a process she relishes, confessing she is frightened to settle down. Taylor Swift had a laugh at the expense of her boyfriend Travis Kelce 's brother Jason during her blockbuster appearance on their podcast New Heights on Wednesday. Nearly an hour into the podcast, the 35-year-old pop superstar spoke about how Travis made his on-stage debut with her for her Eras Tour shows at London's iconic Wembley Stadium. 'Wasn't this the week that I got to watch Jason meet the Royal Family?' Taylor recalled, before she and Travis, 35, proceeded to poke fun at Jason, 37, for his neurotic concerns about his demeanor before meeting them. The hitmaker ended up immortalizing the performances with selfies featuring Prince William — who was celebrating his birthday at the concerts — and his son Prince George and daughter Princess Charlotte. 'I knew you were serious when I was like, "Jason, do you want to go meet [them]?"' she continued, and Travis chimed in to narrate his older brother's reaction. 'He was like, "What do I do with my beer?"' the Kansas City Chiefs tight end said. Taylor played off her boyfriend, adding: 'I watched him have this moment with his beer where he's just like, "But I want to take it. But I know that I probably should not take it." 'I watched this happen and it was kind of the most amazing [thing],' she said with a laugh. Jason confirmed that Taylor was 'exactly' right about his tortured mental process at the time. But Jason clarified that the two had been given a 'warning' about how to properly greet Prince William and his children. 'But they said that because we weren't at, like, an official royal event, we didn't need to bow or curtsy,' he clarified. 'If it would have been like an official meeting of royalty event, then it would have been that. 'But I did still address him as Your Royal Highness,' Jason added. Later, the conversation took a somber turn as Taylor shared a health update on her father Scott. The singer–songwriter told Travis and Jason that her father had an 'interesting summer' after undergoing an 'intense' quintuple bypass surgery. Later in the podcast, she also shared that her mother Andrea — who was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and was later revealed in 2020 to have developed a brain tumor — had gotten her knee replaced recently. Taylor said it was a shock that her father needed such a major procedure, as she said he had had a 'perfect EKG' and 'healthy physicals' each year leading up to the surgery in July. The podcast aired live on Wednesday, shortly before Taylor delighted her fans by unveiling the artwork for her new album The Life Of A Showgirl, which she announced after midnight on Tuesday in an advance clip from the podcast. Scott's health was revealed to be far more dire than he or his family realized when he had a resting stress test this year, which revealed 'five hard blockages in his heart.' Taylor said that now her father tells all his friends to get the same resting stress test, 'because that's what's actually preventative.' Taylor added that people who learn that they're suffering from blockages earlier may be able to have less invasive stents put in. By contrast, bypass surgery usually takes the form of open-heart surgery, an extremely invasive procedure in which the breast bone can be cut in order to spread the ribs apart to access the heart, according to the Mayo Clinic. The surgery is used to repair damage from coronary artery disease, in which the arteries in the heart become partially or completely blocked by plaques, which deprives the heart of oxygen and can lead to heart attacks. Medications are used to stop the heart temporarily while a machine helps blood and oxygen flow to the rest of the body during the operation. Healthy, unblocked blood vessels, usually taken from inside the chest or the lower leg, are then grafted to allow blood to bypass the blocked portions of arteries. Recovery from the procedure can take anywhere from 6 to 12 weeks. The Reputation singer said doctors impressed the seriousness of the procedure on her father, telling him, 'we've got to do this, like, tomorrow.' According to Taylor, her dad's doctors were surprised that he was even able to walk in without showing any obvious distress considering the degree to which the arteries in his heart were blocked. As he prepared for the surgery on short notice, Scott told Taylor and her brother Austin that they didn't need to rush to be with him because they were busy with their own lives, even though she planned to drop everything to support him. 'He was being the brave dad, the strong dad, you know,' Travis added. Taylor recalled finding it ridiculous how much her father tried to downplay the seriousness of his condition. 'He said something about, like, "When a cat is injured it curls up around a tree and heals itself." 'I was like, "Dad, cats don't have quintuple bypass surgery. That's wild. You're just saying stuff now. That doesn't mean anything to me."' Taylor said she promised her father she wouldn't make a fuss and fly to be with him, but it was all a fib, and he woke up surrounded by her, her brother, their mother Andrea and his best friend. She recounted how Scott was loopy in his first 15 minutes awake and turned into a comedian, which impressed her, as she thought he was usually pretty funny even when he wasn't drugged up from anesthesia. The Eras Tour singer recalled how her family told him in shock that he had had a quintuple bypass, as they didn't know how many arteries were blocked before he went into surgery. Taylor did her best impression of her dad's groggy post-surgery response with a croaking voice: 'Well, you see, I come from a very competitive family.' Scott was apparently so out of it that he tried to give the doctors and nurses around him some of Taylor's guitar picks just after he woke up from surgery — a standard treat that he carries with him for fans — except that he wasn't wearing pants and didn't have any pockets in his surgical gown to hold the picks. In the early days of his recovery, she realized that the parent–child dynamic had flipped, and now she was one of her father's caregivers. She smiled as she recalled how her parents used to scold her for staying up late to talk to her friend Abigail on the phone when she should have been sleeping, but now her brother was begging her to take her father's phone because he had been FaceTiming his friends all night from his hospital bed instead of getting some much-needed sleep and rest 'That's, like, one of the main things you need,' Travis reiterated. Andrea was diagnosed with cancer in 2015. It went into remission, but Taylor revealed it had returned in 2019. In 2020, she said doctors had discovered her mother had a brain tumor. She also revealed that Scott was at one time diagnosed with cancer; seen in 2013 in Las Vegas Taylor recounted a comical scene in which she, Austin and their mother all refused to be the one to take his phone and possibly earn his ire. The Folklore singer added that it was 'surreal' that her father used to build her cribs and play sets, but now it was her turn to build 'his shower chair and his walker' and his adjustable bed. Because Scott couldn't initially walk on his own, Taylor said she essentially moved in with her father for the summer and had to get him a harness to 'walk' him. Travis then jumped in to say her father was 'full of life' and 'appreciative that he caught it.' Later in the podcast, Taylor revealed that her father wasn't the only one with major health news, as her mother 'just got a new knee.' 'She's doing great. She's scampering around,' she said, before correcting herself. 'We're not quite at scampering yet, but she's doing great.' Travis added, 'She's up and moving around.' Taylor notably didn't share any updates on her mother's previous cancer diagnosis. It was reported in 2015 that Andrea had been diagnosed with an unspecified cancer, though it later went into remission. But Taylor revealed in a 2019 essay for Elle that her mother's cancer had returned, and in 2020 she said doctors had since discovered that Andrea had developed a brain tumor. Since then, the superstar singer has kept her mother's cancer battle behind the scenes. Although there haven't been additional updates, fans took it to be a positive sign that Andrea was such a regular presence on her daughter's whirlwind Eras Tour. Later in the podcast, Taylor went on to dub the last few months 'the summer of my parental upgrades.' 'We're just upgrading the parents, making sure they live to be at least 186 years old, because they're two of my best friends and I just adore them,' she said. The songstress started to sound emotional again as she gushed about how much she appreciated spending so much time with her parents this summer. She said she came to appreciate the 'long talks' that they would have after living together again for an extended period, which wasn't something she was used to happening when she would only see her parents for short, concentrated periods.
