They continued working through the night into Sunday morning to quash the blaze. Those who were injured in the incident were taken to nearby hospitals with their conditions currently unknown. The spokesperson noted on X that they are not fire or law enforcement officials. "Two courageous bystanders risked their lives to rescue the driver and passenger from the burning vehicle just moments before it was engulfed in flames," the spokesperson wrote. Residents living on Terra Cruz Lane and Parasol Lane were evacuated after the incident sparked a gas leak which has now been contained. More to follow... Boy, 16, found dead on railway track with another teen is pictured as heartbroken parents pay tribute
THE family of a young boy who was found dead on railway tracks have released a touching tribute to their son. The youth, Joshua Myers, 16, tragically passed away on Thursday, July 3 alongside another 16-year-old. Police were called to reports of a casualty on the tracks near Poynton station, Greater Manchester. Paramedics raced to assist but Joshua was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The other 16-year-old was also tragically pronounced dead at the scene. British Transport Police are are probing the two deaths but are not treating them as suspicious. Services were shut down to allow emergency services to reach the two teens. In a heartbroken statement, Joshua's parents said: 'Our son, Josh is incredibly precious to us and we are so proud to be his Mum and Dad. "He had no idea how loved he was. Our hearts have been broken, and the world seems incomplete without him. He will stay in our hearts forever. 'He was the best big brother ever, who loved his big family. He was also very thoughtful, kind, bright and intelligent. "His warm sense of humour always shone through all of his activities. "He really enjoyed playing computer games, running, including park runs, and playing badminton. "Many of his favourite days were when he was relaxing and playing whilst on holiday with his family - bodyboarding, swimming and looking after his younger siblings. "Josh's close friends also meant a lot to him and he really enjoyed spending time with them. 'Our family would like to thank everyone for all of the wonderfully kind thoughts and messages which we have received. 'Thank you to everyone, too, for respecting our privacy at this very sad time.' 1

Man arrested over Derry stabbing
A 31-year-old man has been arrested following a reported stabbing in Derry on Sunday morning. The Police Service of Northern Ireland said the suspect also assaulted police officers following his arrest. Advertisement The PSNI said it was first alerted to the reported stabbing by the ambulance service after 9.30am. Officers responding to Faustina Terrace located a man aged in his 40s with a serious wound to his arm. He has been taken to hospital for treatment. Chief Inspector Cathal Pearce said: 'The suspect was found shortly afterwards in a nearby residential address and arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm. Advertisement 'While being detained, he became aggressive with our officers and was further arrested on suspicion of two counts of assault on police. 'On arrival at custody, he was additionally arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and theft.' Mr Pearce added: 'I want to reassure the local community that this matter was resolved quickly, and the suspect remains in custody. 'You will continue to see our officers in the area today, carrying out enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
