As part of the shake-up, the discounter will roll out £1, £2, £3 grocery pricing across all stores.
The new pricing will roll out to all Poundland's UK stores in phases
between now and September.
Eventually, the number of grocery items sold at £1 will increase to 60%.
Some 20% of goods will be sold at £2 and another 20% will be sold at £3.
Health and beauty, household, confectionery will also be smacked with a bargain price tag.
Poundland's popular clothing business will not be included in the offer.
However, The Sun has been told that a similar strategy is set to be rolled out within this department come 2026.
Branches in Manchester, Liverpool, Hanley, Brixton and Wandsworth are now live with the new offer.
The news follows a five-month trial within 17 Poundland stores across the Midlands.
In pilot stores, prices were reduced and ranges re-focused on what customers favoured.
Barry Williams, managing director, said: "Customers have told us loud and clear during these trials that they will back a simpler, more focused Poundland that keeps its promise of amazing value."
Poundland to be sold for JUST £1 as frontrunner for shock takeover is revealed after wave of store closures
"We've heard them, and the clear success of our pilot is why I'm confident that a Poundland that's focused on the simple value our customers expect, can have a bright future.'
Today's announcement comes five years after the business ditched its £1 price limit.
Back in 2019, Poundland stores began selling items for £10, after rolling out items for £2 to £5 a few years prior.
The chain is currently waiting for high court approval for a dramatic restructuring plan which includes the closure of 68 stores.
The chain was bought by the Gordon Brothers last month as part of a deal that included major restructuring and an £80million cash injection.
All change at Poundland
The bargain retail chain will make a number of changes following its sale.
Come September 16, shoppers will no longer be able to buy products off its website and its loyalty scheme, Poundland Perks will be axed.
Loyalty scheme customers signed up to the Poundland Perks app have until January 15, 2026, to use their rewards vouchers.
Poundland's new owners have said they also want to:
Close its frozen and digital distribution centre in Darton, South Yorkshire, later this year
Ditch frozen products from stores
Reduce the number of chilled food items sold
Close its national distribution centre in Bilston, West Midlands, in early 2026
Provide more womenswear and seasonal ranges
As it stands, Poundland operates 800 stores nationwide, but the company hopes to significantly reduce this number to between 650 and 700.
This includes the 68 stores closing by mid-October, as well as additional stores shutting when leases expire and are not renewed.

Travel industry applauds Sun investigation into celeb ‘get rich' scheme pushed by Strictly star… while agents protest

Vicky's Vaycays has hundreds of women in the 'team' but our investigation shows that signing up is a risky business for most CHECK OUT Travel industry applauds Sun investigation into celeb 'get rich' scheme pushed by Strictly star… while agents protest Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) INDEPENDENT travel agency, InteleTravel, is answering questions about their business practices after The Sun's investigation shined a light on the true cost of joining their organisation to sell travel. With glamorous celebrities like Strictly's Vicky Pattison and TOWIE's Jess Wright promoting the scheme on their huge social platforms, it was revealed they could be earning over £200,000 as fans sign up to the scheme. 5 InteleTravel is answering questions about their business practices after The Sun's investigation Credit: Instagram 5 Real Housewives of Cheshire's Tanya Bardsley also promotes the holiday company Credit: Instagram However, our report showed that almost 90 per cent of people don't make a single penny working as an Independent Travel Agent (ITA) - with many ending up out of pocket. Those selling travel through the Vicky's Vacay team will almost certainly have signed up with recruitment firm, PlaNet Marketing, who are a separate company to InteleTravel. Even though they are different companies, The Sun could find no way of joining InteleTravel without signing up to PlaNet Marketing and paying an initial fee of £140 and then £30 per month thereafter. Industry experts TTG, have reported that since The Sun called for clarity on how many Brits are affected negatively by joining the scheme, InteleTravel is now reviewing its partnership with the US-headquartered company that recruits agents on its behalf. Read more on travel DOUBLE AGENTS How travel firm flogged by stars like Vicky Pattison leaves mums losing £100s In our report, we looked at how likely it is for everyday women and fans of these glamourous celebrities to earn money selling holidays to their friends and family for a small commission. Social media messaging flaunting a jet-set lifestyle and ability to 'be your own boss' is rife on platforms like Instagram. And it's not just the celebrities who are at it. Many ITAs who say they make 'big money' from selling travel are, in fact, doing so with an elaborate recreruitment downline. This means anyone they sign up to their 'team' must pay them a commission, as well as the commission to InteleTravel - an ABTA-approved travel agency - on anything they go on to sell. InteleTravel came under criticism as recruiters for the network, appear to approach people, most-often women and mums, on social media. Avoid being ripped off by car hire companies with these four top tips Subtle messaging, which some women who spoke to The Sun allege they are trained for, is used to lure new agents in by telling them a glamorous lifestyle can be achieved while on their family holiday. It's heavily implied that a huge salary can be achieved while being a full-time mum or working in another job. A recruiter told our reporter that she earned £27,000 alongside her full time job in a different sector. Tricia Handley-Hughes, InteleTravel's UK and Ireland managing director, insisted the agency's partnership with PlanNet Marketing had 'not run its course' but added: "discussions need to take place". 5 Jess Wright is another celeb who has become the face of InteleTravel Credit: Instagram 5 Jess Wright showed off her team on an Instagram post aimed at encouraging more women to sign up Credit: Instagram Senior industry agents also reacted to the story, calling it 'deeply concerning'. In a article published by trade publication, Travel Weekly, they raised concerns about InteleTravel's recruitment methods and about the impact of the story on the professional reputation of other agents in the sector. Advantage Travel Partnership chief executive Julia Lo Bue-Said said: 'It's important to remember the vast majority of travel agents across the UK are highly professional and trustworthy". 'Being a travel agent is not a hobby. It should never be treated as a casual side hustle to make some extra money". While marketing consultant Steve Dunne, chief executive of Digital Drums, said such stories 'could push back the reputation of the travel agents a generation'. A number of InteleTravel agents have reacted to our report in defence of InteleTravel. They were keen to tell their followers that agents can 'just sell holidays' and do not have to sign up to be part of the business responsible for the recruitment of other agents. James Pirie-Warsop said: 'I've been with Intele for about two or three years and I'm glad I did [join them]. Yes, there's a multi-level marketing side, but you don't have to do it". Whilst no-one is forced to recruit a 'dream team of travel agents' like Vicky and Jess, official data from the Direct Selling Association reveals that 63 per cent of agents in the sector do go on to build a 'team'. InteleTravel's own figures may differ from the UK wide average, but when asked directlt by The Sun, they declined to comment on the amount their agents earn. Read our full InteleTravel report here. Man who won £220 on lottery instantly buys another ticket and 'starts shaking'

The lucky lottery player detailed his reaction to the shock win and revealed the modest plans he has for his and his family's new fortune A Michigan man's decision to try his luck on the lottery has paid off with a life-changing windfall. The 39-year-old's luck began when he bought a Jumbo Jackpot Slots Fast Cash ticket for $30 (£22.30) and won ten times the amount as the prize. ‌ Feeling lucky, the American decided to spend $20 (£14.86) of his winnings on a Super Lucky 7s ticket at the Exit 76 — Meadowbrook on Town Center Court Southeast in Grand Rapids. ‌ Arguably the best decision he's ever made, buying that ticket led to him winning an eye-watering prize fund of $714,891 (£531,335). ‌ Speaking of his surprise, the winner, who has chosen to stay anonymous, said: 'When I cashed that ticket, I used $20 of my winnings to buy a Super Lucky 7s ticket. 'I scanned the ticket on the Michigan Lottery app and started shaking when I saw I'd won $714,891. The first thing I did was walk over and give the cashier a hug!' According to a press release from Michigan Lottery officials, the lucky man doesn't have the typical plans of a lottery winner. Instead of a lavish holiday or a fancy car, he is instead planning on paying some bills, putting some of the amount into his children's college funds, and then saving the remainder. Fast Cash is an instant-win game with 'a progressive jackpot that can be won instantly,' lottery officials state. Tickets range in price from $2 (£1.48) to $30. ‌ According to officials, all of the Fast Cash games feed into one jackpot, which grows with every ticket purchased. The jackpot can be won at any time, and a new jackpot begins after the last one is won. He isn't the first lottery winner with an extraordinary story behind his jackpot. ‌ Back in 2013, retired HGV driver David Long and his wife Kathleen won a staggering £1million on the EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker prize. In a surprising turn of events, the couple beat the odds of 283billion to one and scooped £1m for a second time two years later. ‌ Giving an update 10 years on from their first win, David told The Sun: "We're not extravagant people. 'We still live in a mobile home, believe it or not. We've done it up nice, mind - we've extended it, put in a modern kitchen and added a conservatory.' The couple also used some of their funds to pay for their wedding, after a 12-year engagement. Things were almost very different for the lucky millionaires after buying their first winning ticket however. After David initially misread the numbers, he believed he'd only won £2.70 and threw his ticket in the bin. Deciding to give it a final check at his local shop, he fished it back out and then realised it was "worth a heck of a lot more".

McDonald's quietly axes beloved burger and dessert from UK menus leaving customers ‘in tears'

MCDONALD'S has quietly axed two more menu items, leaving customers devastated. The fast food giant confirmed to The Sun that the Chilli Double Cheeseburger and the Triple Chocolate Cookie came off menus in June. 2 The Chilli Double Cheeseburger had been on the McDonald's Saver Menu for just £2.49. It arrived on menus back in November last year to much excitement from fans. The burger had featured two 100% British & Irish beef patties, two slices of cheese, onions, jalapenos, pickles and spicy relish all in a signature soft, toasted bun. Fans say they're gutted the cheap burger option has gone. One person wrote on Reddit: "When they bring out a decent burger they literally discontinue it. "Honestly, I love the chilli cheeseburger. It's one of personal favourites from McDonald's.." Another said: "When it was added to the saver menu, I thought it was permanent. It became my absolute favourite burger, I'm so gutted." Others left comments on TikTok, with one person saying: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE CHILLI DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER." A fourth person added: "NOT THE CHILLI BURGER." The Triple Chocolate Cookie, which had been on menus for £1.99, was also hugely popular with McDonald's fans. McDonald's Spices Up Breakfast: Spicy McMuffin, New Sweets & Summer Meal Deals The chewy cookies had been infused with milk chocolate pieces and smooth white chocolate. One disappointed McDonald's customer wrote: "NOT THE COOKIE PLEASE ITS MY PRIDE AND JOY NO NO NOOOOOO." Another said: "Nothing will beat the triple chocolate cookie." And a different person simply said: "I'm tearing up." A McDonald's spokesperson said: "We're always evolving our menu with our customers in mind to keep things fresh and exciting." It comes after The Sun revealed last week that the Bacon Double Cheeseburger and the Bacon Mayo Chicken had been taken off the menu. Both disappeared alongside the much-loved Triple Cheeseburger in May. But it's not all bad news for customers. McDonald's launched an exciting new menu last month with brand new items and some returning favourites. The brand new items were a Jaffa Cakes McFlurry and Sprite Zero with either Green Apple or Mango and Passionfruit flavourings. Plus, Maccies brought back the Spicy Chicken McNuggets, Chicken Big Mac, Big Tasty and more. Here's the full list of new menu items you can get now: The McDonald's menu changes every six weeks so we can expect a new menu drop again in early September. Plus, the fast food chain is starting up its much-anticipated Monopoly game once again. The annual competition will start on September 10 and will run for around six weeks. It gives customers the chance to win a range of prizes including cash, holidays and free food. McDonald's revealed today what prizes will be available - you can read more on that here. How to save at McDonald's You could end up being charged more for a McDonald's meal based solely on the McDonald's restaurant you choose. Research by The Sun found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30% cheaper at restaurants just two miles apart from each other. You can pick up a Big Mac and fries for just £2.99 at any time by filling in a feedback survey found on McDonald's receipts. The receipt should come with a 12-digit code which you can enter into the Food for Thought website alongside your submitted survey. You'll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the £2.99 offer. There are some deals and offers you can only get if you have the My McDonald's app, so it's worth signing up to get money off your meals. The MyMcDonald's app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android phones and is quick to set up. You can also bag freebies and discounts on your birthday if you're a My McDonald's app user. The chain has recently sent out reminders to app users to fill out their birthday details - otherwise they could miss out on birthday treats.
