Justin Tucker isn't fighting his suspension—but don't mistake that for surrender. In a calculated move that's caught
NFL
insiders' attention, the veteran kicker is accepting a 10-game ban without appeal, even as he denies serious misconduct allegations.
With his NFL future uncertain and no team currently under contract, Tucker is playing the long game.
This decision isn't just about damage control—it's a strategic pivot aimed at salvaging his career.
Serving time without a team: Tucker's tactical choice
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport broke down why Tucker isn't challenging the suspension despite maintaining his innocence. 'So, no appeal for Justin Tucker because he is not employed by a team,' Rapoport said, emphasizing the unique context.
'He can work out, can theoretically practice with a team… but cannot play in an actual game until after the ten weeks are over.' This allows Tucker to quietly serve the suspension now and return eligible—ready for a midseason team in need.
A quiet deal between Tucker, NFLPA, and league
The NFL chose not to hold a formal disciplinary hearing, instead resolving the matter through a confidential agreement. Tucker's legal team confirmed his decision not to appeal and issued a statement on his behalf.

'Justin has always strived to carry himself in a way that would make his family and community proud….We have advised Justin to accept this resolution and close this matter.'
Tucker's career took a major hit after the Baltimore Banner published allegations from six massage therapists spanning 2012 to 2016. Following the report, the Ravens moved on from their longtime kicker after 13 seasons, drafting Tyler Loop in April.
Once the NFL's most accurate leg, Tucker's performance slipped last year to a career-low 73.3% conversion rate. His $6M-per-year value now hangs in limbo as he forfeits an estimated $3.52M in missed games.

Tucker's suspension begins August 26 and ends November 11, aligning with the NFL's midseason stretch. He can still participate in training camps, sign with teams, and appear in preseason games during this time. While his image has taken a blow, his resume and past reliability could still draw interest once eligible. If a team overlooks the controversy, Justin Tucker might just kick his way back into the NFL.

Former Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Reddy gets court relief in convoy death case
VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh high court on Friday granted interim protection to former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and others, directing the police not to take coercive steps, including arrest, in relation to the case registered over the death of one Ch Singaiah. The high court asked the Advocate General to explain how the passengers in the vehicle are responsible for an untoward incident that resulted in the death of a person. Guntur police registered a case against Jagan Mohan Reddy, his PA K Naheswara Reddy, former ministers Vidadala Rajini and Perni Venkatramaiah, and former TTD Chairman Y V Subba Reddy, charging them with culpable homicide not amounting to murder under section 105 of BNS, after videos surfaced suggesting Singaiah was mowed down by the vehicle in which they were travelling. Jagan Mohan Reddy and others moved the high court seeking to quash the case registered against them. Arguing on behalf of the petitioners, senior counsels Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy and S Sriram submitted that the police initially declared that another vehicle was responsible for the incident in question and registered a case under section 106 of BNS for rash and negligent driving. However, the case was later altered to section 105, and the former CM and others, who were passengers in the vehicle, were included as accused. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Hotel con entradas incluidas PortAventura World Compra ahora Undo They submitted that the case is politically motivated, and the sections included in the FIR against the petitioners do not stand for judicial scrutiny. Considering the submissions of the petitioners, Justice K Srinivas Reddy asked Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas to explain how the passengers in the vehicle involved in an accident could be made accused. Responding to the query from the bench, Srinivas said that the incident in question cannot be seen as any other incident of rash and negligent driving. The Advocate General said that there was sufficient material to suggest that the petitioners, despite having knowledge of the incident, did not inform the police or take remedial measures to rescue the victim. Instead, they tried to cover up by giving the impression that some other vehicle was involved in the incident. Srinivas further said that the authorities had given limited permission for three vehicles and 100 persons to visit Rentapalla, but hundreds of vehicles and thousands of people gathered and conducted a rally in utter disregard of the law enforcement agencies. Even after the incident took place, the petitioners did not bother to call for an ambulance or inform the police but continued with the rally, he said. Srinivas said that all these things are to be seen together, not in isolation. If it had been a politically motivated case, as alleged by the petitioners, the police would have registered cases into three other deaths that occurred on that day due to the rally. The reason for the registration of the case in question was based on available material, he said, adding that the investigation is still at a nascent stage and sought time till Tuesday so that he can submit all details pertaining to the case. Considering the submissions on both sides, Justice Srinivas Reddy posted the matter for further hearing on July 1 and directed the police not to take coercive steps till then.

Gangs of Punjab: Who is gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria? Accused in Sidhu Moose Wala murder; friend-turned foe of Lawrence Bishnoi
Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, a notorious gangster, is currently in jail. His mother was recently killed, allegedly by the Bambiha gang. Bhagwanpuria has a long criminal history, including drug trafficking and murder cases. He also has connections to international criminal networks. Police are investigating the recent killing and the claims made by the Bambiha gang. NEW DELHI: From operating drug syndicates from jail to being named in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case, gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, whose mother was shot dead by the 'rival Bambiha gang' on Thursday night, has emerged as one of Punjab's most notorious criminals in recent years. Who is Jaggu Bhagwanpuria? Born Jagdeep Singh, the gangster takes his alias from his native village, Bhagwanpur, in Gurdaspur. He is currently lodged in Assam's Silchar Central Jail after being detained under the stringent PIT-NDPS Act. Since 2012, Bhagwanpuria has been booked in 128 cases, including high-profile murders, extortion, Arms Act violations and 13 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Despite his incarceration, authorities said he continued to operate drug and extortion networks through smuggled mobile phones and encrypted communication, with links traced to operatives in Pakistan, Canada and the United States. Rift with Lawrence Bishnoi Once considered an ally of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, also named in the Moose Wala murder case, the two are believed to have turned rivals after a violent gang clash in Tarn Taran jail in February 2023. Following the fallout, Bishnoi was shifted to a jail in Gujarat in August 2023. In March 2025, following multiple alerts from the Narcotics Control Bureau, the Centre's PIT-NDPS wing directed Bhagwanpuria's transfer to Silchar jail in Assam to sever his influence within Punjab jails. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like This 2025 RAV4 Might Be Toyota's Best Yet TheFactualist Undo The move mirrored similar detentions of three other alleged drug lords — Akshay Chhabra, Jaspal Singh alias Goldy, and Balwinder Singh alias Billa Havelian — who were also moved to Assam as part of efforts to dismantle in-prison smuggling networks. Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav earlier announced the arrest of five members of the Bhagwanpuria and Amritpal Batth gangs. Police claimed to have foiled a planned target killing and seized multiple weapons — including a US-made Glock 9mm pistol and .32 bore firearms — allegedly supplied through Bhagwanpuria's channels. The accused were said to be involved in several previous gang-related cases. Mother, aide gunned down in Batala According to Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala, Suhail Qasim Mir, Harjit Kaur and Karanvir were returning home from Tarn Taran on Thursday night after attending a court hearing when they were attacked near their residence. Unidentified assailants on a motorcycle fired indiscriminately at their vehicle. Karanvir, son of an Assistant Sub-Inspector, died on the spot. Harjit Kaur sustained multiple bullet injuries and was declared brought dead at the hospital. Police have since launched a search operation. No arrests had been made till Friday evening, with the investigation being handled at a high level. Bambiha gang claims responsibility Soon after the attack, a social media post went viral in which Haryana-based gangsters Prabhu Dasuwal and Kaushal Chaudhary — believed to be linked to the Bambiha gang, claimed responsibility. The post stated that Karanvir was the intended target as he allegedly handled operations for Jaggu, including managing fugitives, weapons, and funds. The post reads: 'We — Doni Bal Billa Manga, Prabhu Dasuwal, and Kaushal Chaudhary — take responsibility for Karan's murder in Batala. He used to handle all of Jaggu's operations... Today, by killing him, we have avenged our brother Gore Baryar... From now on, if any of our brothers are wrongfully killed, be ready to pay the price. Anyone else who speaks against us should also be prepared.' Police have not yet verified the authenticity of the claim or confirmed the involvement of the Bambiha gang.
