Colts schedule leaks, rumors tracker: 2025 NFL schedule release updates

The Colts have known for months that they will be the designated home team for the first NFL game ever played in Berlin, Germany.
The rest of the details are available now.
Indianapolis will take on the Atlanta Falcons at 9:30 a.m. ET on Nov. 9 at Berlin's Olympic Stadium, the stadium that was initially built for the 1936 Olympics, an Olympis forever etched into history by legendary American sprinter Jesse Owens winning four gold medals.
The Falcons are a team in transition. Atlanta finished 8-9 in 2024, a season that opened with Kirk Cousins at starting quarterback but ended with former Indiana quarterback Michael Penix Jr. in the starter's role. Penix is the starter this offseason, and Cousins remains on the roster.
Indianapolis is likely going to play a lot of games in Germany as the NFL continues to expand its international slate to eight games per year, the number that commissioner Roger Goodell has targeted for the future. Indianapolis holds marketing rights in the country, along with a handful of other NFL teams, and the Colts have a number of connections to the country, most notably Bjorn Werner, the former Indianapolis first-round pick who has become the face of American football in Germany.

As part of the NFL's rotating schedule formula, the Colts will play AFC West and NFC West opponents, as well as second-place finishers from the AFC East (Miami), AFC North (Pittsburgh) and NFC South (Atlanta).
AFC teams have nine home games in 2025, though the Colts will play one of those in Berlin, Germany.

Cam Jordan Draws Inspiration From House of the Dragon

Cam Jordan Draws Inspiration From House of the Dragon originally appeared on Athlon Sports. In the 2011 NFL Draft, the New Orleans drafted Cam Jordan out of Cal with the 24th pick. It was a brilliant move for the franchise. The future Hall of Fame defensive end, who turns 36 year old in July, is now entering year 15 in the Big Easy. Advertisement As we have seen before on numerous occasions for mini-camp and training camp arrivals, Cam is no stranger to a new hairstyle. This year, Jordan showed up with bleached blonde braids. He cited the HBO show 'House of the Dragon' which will start its third season in 2026 as his inspiration. The Game of Thrones spin-off first aired in 2022. "I wanted to be a Velaryon…and I was like you know what, this guy. This guy's got something going on. Now granted, I thought I'd do the beard, too, but I didn't like the way the fumes was rising. So I kept it exactly how I wanted to. I think this is me. I'll see how long it lasts." Jordan then told the assembled media, 'Honestly, I thought I was gonna cut it off but then I was like, let's have some fun with it. So, this is my version of fun. Advertisement According to the Westeros wiki, 'House Velaryon is an ancient and proud family, with the blood of old Valyria in in their veins. The Velaryons were the oldest and closest allies of the Targaryens for centuries.' The Saints will continue mini-camp tomorrow and Thursday. All practices take place at Ochsner Sports Performance Center in Metairie. Wednesday's practice begins at 11:50 a.m. CT and is sold out. Arizona Cardinals ST coordinator Jeff Rodgers expects huge increase in kick returns

Arizona Cardinals ST coordinator Jeff Rodgers expects huge increase in kick returns "I would be shocked if the return rate is not 70-plus percent," Jeff Rodgers told reporters Tuesday. After the NFL significantly changed how kickoffs were handled in 2024, a few small changes were made. Most notably, a touchback for kicking the ball out of the end zone will give the ball to the receiving team at the 35-yard line instead of the 30 like last season. Arizona Cardinals special teams coordinator and assistant head coach Jeff Rodgers believes it will make a massive difference. "I would be shocked if the return rate is not 70-plus percent," he told reporters before the Cardinals' first minicamp practice on Tuesday. Last year, with the initial change, the kickoff return rate "only spiked from 20 to 30%" but it accomplished the goals the league wanted, a reduction of head injuries and in soft-tissue injuries. Kickoffs had a few other changes, but those are more subtle, such as player placement and alignment before the kick. Rodgers is pleased with the changes, as it will lead to more exciting football. For a while, it looked like the kickoff would be completely phased out. That is no longer the case. "They want to play back in the game, and that's good for all of us," Rodgers said. "It's good for the players. It's going to make things more you're talking about double the amount of competitive plays in my opinion, 100 more competitive plays per team per season. That's a lot like 50 more kickoffs are covering 50 more kickoff returns you're going to return. It'll change the game pretty good and we better get good at that stuff in a hurry." Cardinals kick return specialist DeeJay Dallas averaged 30.6 yards on 15 kick returns and scored a touchdown. His touchdown was the first of the new kickoff style and one of only seven in the league. We will see how much more this new change impacts the Cardinals in 2025.
