Michelle Keegan makes explosive ITV return after decade with role alongside Hollywood star
Michelle Keegan is stepping back into the spotlight and back onto ITV – for the first time in nearly a decade – as she prepares to star in the gripping new psychological thriller The Blame.
The series marks a major career moment for the 38-year-old actress, who recently welcomed her first child, daughter Palma Elizabeth Wright, with husband Mark Wright in March. The six-part drama will see Michelle in a commanding lead role as DI Emma Crane, a detective investigating a mysterious and tragic death that unravels into something far more sinister.
According to ITV, the case 'spirals into a tangled web of lies, institutional cover-ups, and moral compromise.' It comes after Michelle's husband Mark, 39, shared a big 'disappointment' after their family holiday with baby daughter Palma.

Michelle's return to ITV is particularly notable as she first rose to national fame on the network's long-running soap Coronation Street, where she played fan-favourite Tina McIntyre from 2008 until 2014.
Her last project for ITV came in 2017, when she portrayed Tina Moore, the wife of football legend Bobby Moore, in the critically acclaimed three-part drama Tina and Bobby.
Now, eight years since she last worked with the broadcaster, Michelle is not only coming back with an epic lead role, but she's doing so opposite none other than Douglas Booth.
The 33-year-old actor is widely known for his roles in Mary Shelley, The Limehouse Golem, and Netflix's fantasy juggernaut The Sandman.
Booth plays DI Tom Radley, working alongside Michelle's character as the two detectives are drawn deeper into a high-stakes investigation that tests both their moral boundaries and professional loyalties.
While fans are thrilled by the casting, husband Mark Wright may have mixed feelings about Michelle teaming up with Booth, often dubbed a Hollywood heartthrob.
Since stepping away from ITV, Michelle has built an impressive portfolio across different networks and genres.
She starred in the hit comedy-drama Brassic on Sky, took on a dramatic lead in Ten Pound Poms for BBC One, and reached a global audience with her most successful project to date, Netflix 's Fool Me Once.
The Harlan Coben thriller smashed records with an astounding 107 million views in its first six months on the platform, firmly cementing Michelle's status as a leading lady in British television.
The Blame is based on the debut novel of the same name by Charlotte Langley and promises to deliver suspense, drama, and emotional depth.
Alongside Michelle and Booth, the cast features heavyweight talent including Harry Potter's Ian Hart and Line of Duty star Nigel Boyle, known for his chilling role as DCS Buckells.

Destination X viewers slam 'unfair' twist as they warn they're going off show
Fans of Destination X on BBC One have been left furious by a 'rubbish' twist. The reality competition has been heating up in recent weeks, as fans are getting closer to winning £100,000. Rob Brydon's new BBC reality show, which has been tipped as Race Across the World meets The Traitors, sees players try and figure out where on earth they are by picking up on the clues dropped through various games, and the look of the area around them. Ultimately, the person to guess the furthest location from where they truly are by the end of the episode is booted out of the coach. However, in a huge twist, Josh was given the chance to sabotage someone and move their X 250km away from the point they chose – and he chose Nick. This led many fans on social media to share their fury over the decision, with @alexanderls3 writing on X: 'WHY do these shows always throw in stupid twists?! 'What do you mean Josh can move someone's pinpoint 250km away….. that's just straight up cheating as he's obviously going to choose the best player (Nick) and how is that fair? #DestinationX' @RebelDiamond_ added: 'If #Nick goes on that ridiculously unfair twist I'm going to be savage #DestinationX' @DrabWilly similarly said: 'Having a competitor move someone's pin 250km away from their guess makes a mockery of the show, just becomes a game of luck and randomness rather than skill (including deception) and intelligence. This comes after fans slammed contestants for missing an 'unforgiveable' clue in last week's episode. More Trending The contestants were driven through beautiful landscapes as they stopped off at a castle to listen to music from artists linked to the final destination. Eventually, they listened to a song from The Sound of Music when Julie Andrews sings 'Do Re Mi'. However, one contestant, London cab driver Daren Parr took a while to come to the conclusion many viewers had already come to, at one pointing calling the noises 'nonsense'.
