Mohamed Mandour
The Muslim Council of Elders' pavilion at the Erbil International Book Fair hosted a seminar titled "The Call of the People of Qiblah and Prospects for Civil Peace in Muslim Societies", presented by Dr. Samir Boudinar, Director of the Al-Hokama Center for Peace Research. The seminar was part of the Council's efforts to promote intra-Islamic dialogue to unify the Muslim Ummah and foster its solidarity.
At the start of the seminar, Dr. Samir Boudinar explained that the "Call of the People of Qiblah" is the outcome of the Intra-Islamic Dialogue Conference held in the Kingdom of Bahrain in February 2024, chaired by His Eminence Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders.
The conference brought together prominent scholars from various Islamic denominations and schools of thought to formulate a shared vision for enhancing Islamic brotherhood and countering sectarian division.
The Director of the Al-Hokama Center for Peace Research clarified that the Call of the People of Qiblah is a charter containing key principles for preserving the unity of the Ummah.
These include promoting scholarly and doctrinal understanding among scholars and academic institutions, confronting schemes of discord, mitigating risks that threaten the fabric of Muslim society, acknowledging the legitimacy of doctrinal differences, and prioritizing Islamic unity.

Hamas Appeals to UN and Security Council to End Gaza Siege
H-Tayea The Palestinian movement Hamas has called for an independent international investigation into what it described as Israel's systematic crimes, urging the prosecution of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders. In an official statement, Hamas emphasized the need for the United Nations and its affiliated agencies to remain the sole legitimate and neutral parties responsible for the delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza. The movement further appealed for an urgent intervention by the UN Security Council and the international community to halt what it termed as 'acts of genocide' and to lift the siege on the people of Gaza. Meanwhile, in a separate development, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared in court on Monday for what is known as a 'cross-examination session' as part of his ongoing corruption trial. According to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, Netanyahu's attorney, Amit Hadad, requested the session be cut short due to an "important diplomatic call." However, he did not disclose the nature of the call and noted that current legal restrictions prohibit him from direct communication with the Prime Minister during the cross-examination proceedings. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

Spain Summons Israeli Diplomat Over Seizure of Gaza-Bound Ship 'Madelene'
Nada Mustafa Spain has summoned the chargé d'affaires of the Israeli embassy in Madrid to express its protest over the Israeli interception of the aid vessel Madelene. Israeli occupation forces detained the crew of the Madelene and towed the vessel to Ashdod Port. Prior to the boarding, Israeli drones reportedly dropped an unidentified white substance near the ship, followed by the approach of high-speed boats suspected to have carried Israeli forces who stormed the vessel and arrested the activists on board. Activists on the Madelene had reportedly prepared for such a confrontation. In a live broadcast from the ship, they were seen wearing life vests and holding their passports and identification documents in anticipation of arrest. The Madelene is the 36th ship in the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, a campaign aimed at breaking the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip since 2007. The vessel was carrying 12 activists from various nationalities, along with humanitarian aid including food, medicine, and medical equipment. Spain's diplomatic move signals growing international concern over Israel's continued enforcement of the Gaza blockade, particularly in the wake of increasing efforts by global civil society to deliver aid by sea. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt News Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly Inaugurates Two Indian Companies Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

Trump Stumbles While Boarding Air Force One, Echoing Past Biden Incidents
Nada Mustafa U.S. President Donald Trump stumbled while climbing the steps to his presidential aircraft, Air Force One, in New Jersey, shortly after speaking with reporters, a moment that drew comparisons to past incidents involving his predecessor, Joe Biden. Trump Nearly Falls, But Quickly Recovers Footage captured the exact moment Trump lost his footing while ascending the staircase to Air Force One. He nearly fell, but managed to regain his balance and continued climbing. Upon reaching the top, Trump turned to the journalists below and raised his fist in a symbolic gesture, signaling that he was fine. Echoes of Biden's Stumbles The incident instantly evoked memories of several occasions during Biden's presidency when he tripped on the stairs of Air Force One, most notably in 2021, when he stumbled three times in quick succession. Those moments had sparked widespread speculation about Biden's health and physical fitness for office. Trump's Past Remarks Resurface During his time in office and afterward, Trump repeatedly mocked Biden's stumbles, especially the viral 2021 incident. His remarks became a frequent talking point in campaign rallies and media appearances. Now, with Trump experiencing a similar misstep, social media has been quick to draw parallels between the two leaders, turning the incident into a new point of discussion in the ongoing political narrative surrounding age, health, and leadership fitness.
