The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Ring of Honor is a distinguished place where only the best former Bucs have their name displayed at Raymond James Stadium.

It's a list full of Buccaneers legends and a virtual "who's who" of former Bucs players and personnel.
Looking closely, you'll notice numerous players from the franchises' first Super Bowl in 2002, including Ronde Barber, Mike Alstott, John Lynch, Simeon Rice, coach Jon Gruden, defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin, Warren Sapp and Derrick Brooks.
On his show, The Ronde Barber Show, Barber thinks there's at least one player from that era missing from the Ring of Honor, and thinks he should be the next inducted.
"I've got a list. I could tell you, like, five names... The No. 1 on my list, without a doubt, the next person that goes into the Bucs Ring of Honor needs to be Hardy Nickerson," Barber said.

"When I got here in 1997, there was like a Darth Vader presence walking around the locker room and on the football field that just commanded respect. The way of doing your job was one person — 56. It's an intangible... he came here in '93, and the culture changed when Tony [Dungy] got here, but Tony needed a guy to be the mouthpiece... it all started with Hardy. [Nickerson] was the guy who changed the culture here in Tampa.
"The way we went about doing our jobs, the manner of which we played the game, the physicality."
Nickerson was gone from Tampa Bay by the time the team made the 2002 Super Bowl, but, as Barber points out, he was an integral part of the team that was built into a championship contender.

Denzel rips Jerry Jones, 'He ain't thinking about us, he's thinking about his pockets!

Despite being the most valuable and recognizable sports franchise in the world, the Dallas Cowboys aren't without their problems. At the heart of those issues is the organizations leadership under owner Jerry Jones. As a business owner, Jones is as successful as anyone in the sports world. His team prints money, but it's not what fans care about. That point was made abundantly clear when noted Cowboys fan Denzel Washington joined ESPN's First Take to be the latest person in line to hammer Jones on how he runs his team. Washington, on set with producer Spike Lee to promote his upcoming movie release Highest to Lowest, professed his love for the team. He speaks about being a Cowboys' fan since the 1960s. His frustration over the team's inability to win over the last three decades falls squarely on the shoulders of Jones. Washington's biggest line that "you (Jones) haven't been to the show, so you wouldn't know what it is to win" resonates extremely loudly for Cowboys fans. To most football observers, Jones is the foremost reason for the franchises failures since the turn of the century, something the Oscar winning actor appears to agree with. The contention that Jones chooses money over winning is something that gets closer to being reality every year. This is what 30 years without winning anything of note gets Jones and his Cowboys; being mocked and ridiculed by one of the world's most famous people. At some point the embarrassment has to set in. Which, in turn, will lead to changes in how the organization does business, right? Don't bet on it. If this offseason has taught us anything, its that Jones does not care about what people think, he's not changing, and he believes every time the Cowboys are brought up it brings attention and more importantly, dollars. While that might be Jones' agenda, it's a far cry from what the fans, including famous ones like Washington, are clamoring for. The money is nice for the Jones family, but its success on the field that matters to most to everyone else. For Dallas Cowboys fans big and small, winning a Super Bowl is what means something, not the money. Follow Cowboys Wire on Facebook to join in on the conversation with fellow fans!

Minnesota Vikings end up with a familiar name in PFF's 2020 NFL re-draft

The NFL Draft remains the second-biggest event in the NFL calendar behind the Super Bowl. Like it or not, it also remains one of the biggest things that fans and media enjoy going back and analyzing to see "what could have been." Pro Football Focus has done a good job this offseason by starting a re-draft series that we have been tracking here on Vikings Wire. In their latest draft, they looked back on it, and it just so happens to be one of the more impactful ones in recent memory for the Minnesota Vikings franchise: The 2020 NFL Draft. While the team missed out on Justin Jefferson in this reality created by PFF, they do land another familiar name in Jonathan Greenard. Trevor Sikkema gives them the Pro Bowl edge rusher and writes, "Greenard developed as a part-time pass rusher in Houston before breaking out as a starter in Minnesota last season. He has recorded at least a 76.7 PFF overall grade in three of the past four seasons. His 84 total pressures last season, playoffs included, were the second most among edge defenders, behind Rams rookie sensation Jared Verse." Greenard was recently listed in the top half of the NFL's Top 100 Players for the 2025 season. Greenard was a massive value for the Texans in 2020, getting him in the third round, but he has since proved that he deserved to go much earlier, and he does here.
