Kid Cudi Details Call With Sean 'Diddy' Combs During Alleged Break-In

As the 'Pursuit of Happiness' rapper (real name Scott Mescudi) took the stand in the rap mogul's federal sex trafficking trial May 22, he alleged that Combs broke into his house when he found out about his and 's brief romance—which began in 2011. And when he called Combs to confront him, he detailed the chilling conversation that followed.
"He said, 'What's up?,'" Mescudi testified, per NBC News, 'and I said, 'Motherf--ker, are you in my house?' He said, 'I am here waiting for you.'"
Adding that Combs—who has pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion and transportation to engage in prostitution—seemed 'calm' when he picked up the phone, the 41-year-old alleged that he called the police while on his way to the house because 'I don't know what his intentions are.'

But upon arrival, Mescudi alleged that only the police were there. However, he said that security cameras on the side of his house had been moved out of the way, his dog was 'locked up in the bathroom,' and 'some gifts were opened up on the counter.'
Combs has not publicly addressed the alleged break-in.
As for why Mescudi was called as a witness in Combs' trial in the first place? While testifying in the trial over four days, Ventura—who dated Combs off and on for 10 years before their 2018 split—previously alleged that she broke up with Mescudi after the Bad Boy Records founder threatened the both of them.
'[There was] too much uncertainty if we continued to see each other,' Ventura said during her May 14 testimony, per NBC News. 'Sean said he was going to hurt the both of us.'
Ventura—who did not disclose the nature of her relationship with Combs at the time—also went on to allege that Combs became 'irate' when he found out about her relationship with Mescudi as well as physically violent.
'I just remember him putting a wine opener between his fingers," she alleged, "and lunging at me."
In addition to his alleged physical violence, Ventura testified that Combs threatened to release videos of her participating in his alleged 'freak off' parties if she continued seeing Mescudi. And beyond that, she alleged that he went as far as telling her that 'Scott's car would be blown up' in early 2012.
Back in 2023, the 'Mr. Rager' artist told The New York Times that his car did blow up in his driveway around that same time.

Harry and his twin Ellen are Smith's younger siblings; they share the same parents, Willard Smith Sr. and Caroline Bright, People reported. According to People, Harry and Will Smith are close, and Harry also has a child from a previous relationship with a different woman. Harry hasn't posted about Lewis's death on his Instagram page. In 2021, Harry Smith shared a photo of his kids on Instagram and wrote, "Love these two!!! Being father to @sydneytaylorsmith and Langston has been the single greatest joy of my life. Sean Combs reading self-help book during trial
Sean 'Diddy' Combs is reading a self-help book during his trial. The 55-year-old disgraced music mogul is in the midst of New York court hearings after he was charged with federal offences including sex trafficking and racketeering, and he has been seen carrying a self-help book titled The Magic of Believing into court. He was spotted with the tome by journalist Emilie Hagen, who is covering Combs' ongoing trial in Brooklyn. Writing on Instagram on Thursday (12,06.25), Emilie said she briefly spoke with Combs as he entered the courtroom and took his place at the defence table. She said: 'He grabs the book and then he shows it to me then shows it to everyone else. 'It was The Magic Of Believing, a book about how to use the power of the mind to tap into reality, to help manifest different thoughts and actions. It's like a self-help book that I would read.' The reporter later posted a follow-up suggesting that Combs may be 'trying to manifest his verdict' by reading the book, whose full title is The Magic Of Believing: The Classic Guide To Unlocking The Power of Your Mind. Combs, the founder of Bad Boy Records, was arrested in September 2024. He has been held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn ever since. His trial formally began in May 2025. Combs faces a number of serious federal charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, stemming from a multi-agency investigation that reportedly involved surveillance, financial records and witness testimony. Prosecutors allege Combs oversaw a criminal enterprise that exploited women and engaged in widespread criminal activity. He has denied all charges and has pleaded not guilty. If convicted, Combs could face a sentence ranging from 15 years to life in prison. Combs' trial on Thursday (12.06.25) heard an account of an orgy with an unnamed 'famous rapper'. His ex-girlfriend and one of his accusers – who goes by the name 'Jane' to protect her anonymity – told jurors about an alleged January 2024 trip to Las Vegas in which she claims to have partied with an unnamed rapper, his girlfriend and a male escort. Describing the rapper's behaviour at the alleged party, she said: 'He said he'd always had a crush on me.' The 44-year-old woman has accused Combs of forcing her into unwanted sexual encounters with male escorts during their relationship. Her testimony is central to the federal sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy case against the music mogul.
