CAIRO - 29 April 2025: U.S. Ambassador to Egypt, Herro Mustafa Garg, emphasized the importance of the continued economic partnership between the United States and Egypt.
She said on Tuesday, "Cooperation between the United States and Egypt is essential not only to enhance economic opportunities, but also to drive shared prosperity. We value our partnership and look forward to greater participation from American companies in this vital sector."
The U.S. Ambassador joined Kamel El-Wazir, Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Transport and Industry, and Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, for a virtual briefing with U.S. companies to showcase the growing trade and investment opportunities in Egypt's ports and logistics sector. Ambassador Garg, Deputy Prime Minister Kamel El-Wazir, and Minister Hassan El-Khatib highlighted Egypt's strategic location as a crossroads between Africa and the Middle East and its development into a global logistics hub.
The event saw interest from a wide range of American companies, reflecting the strong trade ties between the United States and Egypt and their shared commitment to promoting sustainable economic growth and mutual prosperity.
Minister Hassan El-Khatib provided insights into the Egyptian government's strategy to improve the business climate and attract foreign investment, while Deputy Prime Minister Kamel El-Wazir reviewed ways in which American companies can effectively contribute to developing and modernizing Egypt's transportation and logistics network.
