Patna hospital murder: New footage shows gunmen celebrating on street after mafia-style ICU hitjob
The new footage, shared widely on social media, shows an empty road in Patna. Moments later, a motorbike appears carrying three men. The person seated in the middle, holding a firearm, raises his hand in what appears to be a celebratory gesture. Twenty-seven seconds later, a second bike with three more men rides past the same spot. The video has added to growing outrage over Bihar's law and order situation, especially in light of the brazen daylight hospital killing.

The criminals breached it completely and went inside,' Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar had said earlier, adding the security arrangements at the facility are now under review.
Police believe the murder was the result of a gang rivalry. 'Chandan Mishra, resident of Buxar, was out on parole for medical treatment. The rival gang shot him. We are identifying members of the Chandan Sheru gang,' said Patna SSP Kartikay Sharma. Six suspects have reportedly been detained from Patna and Buxar.
The Congress shared the video on social media with the caption, 'Bihar's 'Goon Rule'... Watch this video and understand how fearless criminals are in Bihar.' The party claimed 46 murders have occurred in the last 17 days.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav asked, 'Is anyone safe in Bihar? Did such an incident happen before 2005?' He ridiculed Deputy CMs Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha for boasting about cracking down on criminals while 'they roam freely.'
Meanwhile, Independent MP Pappu Yadav, who was stopped from entering the hospital, claimed the shooting was caste-linked and demanded President's Rule. 'Nurses, doctors, no one is safe in Bihar… There is no such thing as administration,' he said.

Saikia: Ulfa-I victims' kin facing intimidation over Baruah's condolence calls
1 2 Guwahati: Family members of Ulfa-I personnel, who had lost their lives in the 'Myanmar drone strike', are experiencing police and Army intimidation for receiving condolence calls from Ulfa-I leader Paresh Baruah or posting their grief on social media, said Assam opposition leader and Congress senior member Debabrata Saikia. Saikia, who was visiting the party's general secretary of Charaideo district Bhoben Likson's residence in Sonari district, said, "Ulfa-I's military chief, Paresh Baruah, might have offered condolences to some of the cadres' relatives in Assam over the phone. Some of these relatives expressed their grief on social media over the loss of their family members in the drone attack. Now, these relatives are reportedly being harassed by Assam Police and the Indian Army for either communicating with Baruah or for their social media posts. They are being falsely accused of having links with Ulfa-I and are imprisoned." Saikia urged CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to request the central govt to "not to harass innocent Assamese families in this manner." He said the CM had previously admitted in a press conference on Jan 1, 2024, that he communicated with Baruah on a quarterly basis. "Despite publicly announcing his contact with Paresh Baruah, has Assam Police conducted any investigation against Himanta Biswa Sarma?" Saikia asked. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Unsold 2021 Cars Now Almost Free - Prices May Surprise You Unsold Cars | Search Ads Learn More Undo "Now, phone calls made to offer condolences to the families of the deceased cadres are being used as evidence to label people as anti-national, leading to their persecution. Small business owners, farmers and others are being falsely accused of maintaining contact with Ulfa-I and are being imprisoned," Saikia said. Earlier, authorities had detained Likson while he was travelling to join a rally near Guwahati, which featured Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and leader Rahul Gandhi. Later, he was arrested for allegedly showing his support for 'anti-national' activities through Ulfa-I associations.

Bizman dies after neck gets stuck in goods lift amid power cut
Meerut: A 63-year-old sports equipment manufacturer died after his neck got trapped in an "illegal" goods lift inside his workshop during a power outage in Meerut's Surajkund area on Saturday evening, police said. Harvinder Singh was using the lift meant for transporting goods from the ground to the second floor when a power cut occurred. Police said Singh leaned out to check the situation, just as the electricity suddenly resumed, causing the lift to move abruptly and trap his neck. CCTV footage captured him stuck in the elevator for nearly 15 minutes. Factory workers managed to pull him out and rush him to a hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. SP (city) Ayush Vikram Singh said, "His body was sent for postmortem examination, and the autopsy reports are awaited. No complaint has been filed in the case. Further action will be taken accordingly." A police official privy to the investigation said, "The preliminary investigation revealed that the lift was illegally installed and the building was constructed in a residential zone, where commercial activity is not permitted. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Ultimate Trick to Finding 5-Star Hotels for $50/Night? Harvinder Singh's family had migrated to Meerut from Sialkot, Pakistan, during Partition. He is survived by two sons. Following his death, the Sports Goods Association observed a day of mourning and kept the Surajkund market shut on Sunday. This is not the first time a lift-related fatality has been reported in Meerut. Last year, a 28-year-old woman died after getting trapped in a hospital elevator minutes after giving birth. The hospital was later sealed for failing to meet basic safety norms.
