Drake angers fans after cancelling Manchester gig last minute
The Hotline Bling hitmaker, 38, was set to play his third show at the venue tomorrow as part of his $OME $PECIAL $HOWS 4 U tour.
However, the Canadian rapper will no longer perform the gig due to 'unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics' per a statement shared by the venue.
The message, shared on the Co-Op Live website, reads: 'Due to unforeseen ferry schedules and travel logistics, tomorrow's performance in Manchester on July 28 has been rescheduled,' reports the Manchester Evening News.
'The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5, and it's set to be an unforgettable night. All tickets remain valid for the new date – we can't wait to see you there!'
Per the Ticketmaster website, those who cannot make the rescheduled date will be able to get their ticket refunded in full, which can be requested via their Ticketmaster account. https://www.instagram.com/p/DMjCEEFqJZe/?hl=en
Following his Manchester dates, the One Dance hitmaker will head over to Amsterdam for a string of shows at the Ziggo Dome.
Fans have been quick to air their frustration over the cancellation online, with X user JoshDL796 asking if the whole thing was 'a joke.'
CharlieeB_x asked: 'How is Drake using 'logistics' as an excuse to reschedule tomorrow nights show in Manchester when he's already here?'
Josh Lax said they would 'never listen to him again' while Georgina Kritik dubbed the artist 'lame' for using travel issues as an excuse.
'Extended my unpaid leave in Dubai to stay in Manchester so I could see Drake on 28th July just for him to cancel last minute and say he's got travel problems my brother you are in the city wtfym!' Hassan said.
The tour kicked off in Birmingham following Drake's performance at Wireless Festival.
It comes as the musician's feud with Kendrick Lamar rumbles on, announcing legal action against the latter earlier this year.
It has been reported that Drake, real name Aubrey Drake Graham, is suing UMG for spreading the a 'false and malicious narrative'. More Trending
It stems from Kendrick's hit song Not Like Us which contains lyrics that read: 'Say, Drake, I hear you like 'em young,' and 'Just make sure you hide your lil' sister from him.'
The artwork released with the single is an aerial shot of Drake's mansion with sex offender targets overlaid.
TMZ reported that the suit claims the song's lyrics are filled with 'inflammatory and shocking allegations' and claims that UMG had an ulterior motive when it came to promoting Kendrick's tune.
Drake's announcement that he was set to perform at Wireless was his first major news since Kendrick's Super Bowl half-time performance, in which he played Not Like Us live.

MailOnline has contacted Drake's representatives for a comment. His unexpected news comes after the Headlines rapper took to the stage of the legendary Wireless festival in London earlier this month. He reportedly threw a star-studded party on Saturday night following his second day performing leaving him 'looking tired' for his final set on Sunday. Drake disappointed fans after only appearing on stage for 40 minutes during his final performance at the festival. Eventually The Sun claimed that Drake 'probably needed some extra sleep' after partying until 6am at Mr Porter in Mayfair. There were loads of celebs in attendance, including Casey Affleck, Sacha Baron Cohen, and OnlyFans star Lily Phillips. A source told the publication: 'After his back-to-back shows on Friday and Saturday, Drake had a party. 'He hired out Mr Porter in Mayfair and was seen arriving around midnight. 'The party went on all through the early hours of Sunday morning, with Drake finally heading home not long before 6am. 'Drake looked a bit tired when he came out with some of his entourage.' It comes after his three-day Wireless Festival residency ended in complete chaos as thousands of fans blasted the festival as 'dangerous' when they were forced to queue for hours and in huge crowds of people. As the rapper appeared on stage 10 minutes early, thousands of British festival goers were left 'disappointed' as they failed to enter London's Finsbury Park for the show. In videos shared on TikTok , festival goers were stood shoulder-to-shoulder pleading with security to let them in because they had tickets for the day. However, it wasn't just general admission that was facing large queues, as VIP guests told MailOnline that they had been forced to wait up to 'three hours' by security before coming to the conclusion they were not going to be let in and headed home. One guest attempting to get in said: 'We arrived at the guest/VIP entrance to the festival at 5:30pm and the queue was massive, but we joined and hoped it would go down quick. We ended up waiting for over two hours and we still weren't in the festival. 'When I asked security what was going on and if we would even get in for Drake coming on stage they said they couldn't give us a time, but said it would be at least another half an hour. 'Everyone was starting to get angry, and people were just pushing past the security. It felt dangerous and so we decided it was better to leave, meaning we didn't even get to see inside the festival. 'It was so disappointing that the festival had invited all these people down and then treated us like that. No staff members were willing to come out and speak to us to help the situation.'

"I made a big sacrifice just to make this concert, but I knew it would be the highlight of my trip," she said. "Yesterday morning I received an email from Ticketmaster notifying me that the tour has been postponed, which was shocking, as I had just arrived at the airport in Amsterdam to head to Manchester."Having been on holiday in Europe since mid-July, Nina is due to fly back to the US on Tuesday, and won't be able to attend the new paid nearly £340 for her General Admission floor ticket at Co-op Live and is awaiting a refund. "I came to Manchester simply for the performance, and I'm now leaving with disappointment. "I'm truly upset, but trying to enjoy the last day of my holiday here in Europe."There are many other loyal fans, like myself, who travelled thousands of miles for this performance - who worked extremely hard to be able to afford this trip, only to be left without any public apology from Drake or his team".And this isn't the first time Nina has missed out on seeing the Canadian star. Two years ago, she travelled to Nashville, Tennessee from Orlando - only for the concert once again to be cancelled the day before. 'I spent £500 on a new fit' Carlos, 18, made the journey from Brentford, in London, on Saturday, in order to see the rapper for the first time at the concert on Monday night. "I woke up to the email that it had been cancelled on Sunday morning," said Carlos."This was meant to be the first time seeing him, and it would probably be the last - because he doesn't come to the UK a lot [and] if he does, he'll be old and it won't be the same."I spent about £500 on a new [out]fit just for the night. But it's not the clothes, I paid to see Drake."All tickets remain valid for the rescheduled date, but Co-op Live have offered fans chance to apply for a refund if they cannot make the concert on 5 August. "I'm busy that day," said Carlos, adding he has sold back his £175 says he feels fortunate because his sister lives in Manchester, so he didn't have to spend money on a hotel ahead of the concert, but feels sorry for those who've travelled a long way and spent additional money to get to the venue. "Some have actually travelled continents to see this guy!"
