Drake angers fans after cancelling Manchester gig last minute
The Hotline Bling hitmaker, 38, was set to play his third show at the venue tomorrow as part of his $OME $PECIAL $HOWS 4 U tour.
However, the Canadian rapper will no longer perform the gig due to 'unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics' per a statement shared by the venue.
The message, shared on the Co-Op Live website, reads: 'Due to unforeseen ferry schedules and travel logistics, tomorrow's performance in Manchester on July 28 has been rescheduled,' reports the Manchester Evening News.
'The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5, and it's set to be an unforgettable night. All tickets remain valid for the new date – we can't wait to see you there!'
Per the Ticketmaster website, those who cannot make the rescheduled date will be able to get their ticket refunded in full, which can be requested via their Ticketmaster account. https://www.instagram.com/p/DMjCEEFqJZe/?hl=en
Following his Manchester dates, the One Dance hitmaker will head over to Amsterdam for a string of shows at the Ziggo Dome.
Fans have been quick to air their frustration over the cancellation online, with X user JoshDL796 asking if the whole thing was 'a joke.'
CharlieeB_x asked: 'How is Drake using 'logistics' as an excuse to reschedule tomorrow nights show in Manchester when he's already here?'
Josh Lax said they would 'never listen to him again' while Georgina Kritik dubbed the artist 'lame' for using travel issues as an excuse.
'Extended my unpaid leave in Dubai to stay in Manchester so I could see Drake on 28th July just for him to cancel last minute and say he's got travel problems my brother you are in the city wtfym!' Hassan said.
The tour kicked off in Birmingham following Drake's performance at Wireless Festival.
It comes as the musician's feud with Kendrick Lamar rumbles on, announcing legal action against the latter earlier this year.
It has been reported that Drake, real name Aubrey Drake Graham, is suing UMG for spreading the a 'false and malicious narrative'. More Trending
It stems from Kendrick's hit song Not Like Us which contains lyrics that read: 'Say, Drake, I hear you like 'em young,' and 'Just make sure you hide your lil' sister from him.'
The artwork released with the single is an aerial shot of Drake's mansion with sex offender targets overlaid.
TMZ reported that the suit claims the song's lyrics are filled with 'inflammatory and shocking allegations' and claims that UMG had an ulterior motive when it came to promoting Kendrick's tune.
Drake's announcement that he was set to perform at Wireless was his first major news since Kendrick's Super Bowl half-time performance, in which he played Not Like Us live.

Drake cancels his concert at Manchester's Co-op Live arena due to 'travel logistics' after disappointing fans at Wireless festival
Drake has cancelled his live gig at Manchester's Co-op Live arena due to 'travel logistics and unforeseen ferry schedule'. The Canadian singer, 38, was set to perform at the iconic venue on Monday amid his Some Special Shows 4 U tour. The Ten Bands hitmaker's performance has now been rescheduled for August 5, with organisers ensuring 'all tickets remain valid for the new date'. A statement on the arena's website read: 'Due to unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics, tomorrow's performance in Manchester on July 28th has been rescheduled.' It added: 'The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5th, and it's set to be an unforgettable night.' The RnB star had already played two shows in the city on Friday and Saturday, while he will be soon back on stage for another gig at the arena on August 4. MailOnline has contacted Drake's representatives for a comment. His unexpected news comes after the Headlines rapper took to the stage of the legendary Wireless festival in London earlier this month. He reportedly threw a star-studded party on Saturday night following his second day performing leaving him 'looking tired' for his final set on Sunday. Drake disappointed fans after only appearing on stage for 40 minutes during his final performance at the festival. Eventually The Sun claimed that Drake 'probably needed some extra sleep' after partying until 6am at Mr Porter in Mayfair. There were loads of celebs in attendance, including Casey Affleck, Sacha Baron Cohen, and OnlyFans star Lily Phillips. A source told the publication: 'After his back-to-back shows on Friday and Saturday, Drake had a party. 'He hired out Mr Porter in Mayfair and was seen arriving around midnight. 'The party went on all through the early hours of Sunday morning, with Drake finally heading home not long before 6am. 'Drake looked a bit tired when he came out with some of his entourage.' It comes after his three-day Wireless Festival residency ended in complete chaos as thousands of fans blasted the festival as 'dangerous' when they were forced to queue for hours and in huge crowds of people. As the rapper appeared on stage 10 minutes early, thousands of British festival goers were left 'disappointed' as they failed to enter London's Finsbury Park for the show. In videos shared on TikTok , festival goers were stood shoulder-to-shoulder pleading with security to let them in because they had tickets for the day. However, it wasn't just general admission that was facing large queues, as VIP guests told MailOnline that they had been forced to wait up to 'three hours' by security before coming to the conclusion they were not going to be let in and headed home. One guest attempting to get in said: 'We arrived at the guest/VIP entrance to the festival at 5:30pm and the queue was massive, but we joined and hoped it would go down quick. We ended up waiting for over two hours and we still weren't in the festival. 'When I asked security what was going on and if we would even get in for Drake coming on stage they said they couldn't give us a time, but said it would be at least another half an hour. 'Everyone was starting to get angry, and people were just pushing past the security. It felt dangerous and so we decided it was better to leave, meaning we didn't even get to see inside the festival. 'It was so disappointing that the festival had invited all these people down and then treated us like that. No staff members were willing to come out and speak to us to help the situation.'

Prince William and Kate 'eyeing up move' to huge castle with dark past
As an insider claims that the Waleses are looking to upgrade from Adelaide Cottage to a grand castle, the strange history of their possible new home has been revealed Rumours are swirling that Prince William and Princess Kate might be looking to move out of their family home Adelaide Cottage after three years. And the colourful history of their portential new royal residence has now been revealed. Adelaide Cottage is a fraction of the size of the Wales family's former full-time - a palatial apartment in Kensington Palace and it has been reported they want a bigger place for kids Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. And an insider has claimed that the royals could be looking to relocate to Fort Belvedere, a stunning gothic revival mansion in Windsor Great Park. Built in the 18th century, Fort Belvedere became the favourite royal residence of Edward VIII, who lived there before he became monarch and after he abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson. The grand castle was where the former monarch signed the papers which sealed his infamous abdication in 1936. The sprawling, grade II-listed property is set across 59 acres of grounds and has an outdoor swimming pool and tennis court, which sources say is particularly appealing for Kate and Charlotte, who both share a passion for sport. Commonly referred to as The Fort, the country house also boasts a rose garden, walled garden, separate kitchen garden, large greenhouse, stables, two lakes, paddocks and three cottages for staff. The home has a long path running to the entrance, and even has a moat surrounding it. The stately home used to be home to several cannons used in the Jacobite rising of 1745, which were long positioned along the home's battlements. Edward VIII rescued the building, which was used as a summer tea house by Queen Victoria, from falling into decay and installed the luxurious facilities. In the two decades after he left, the property remained largely empty until 1956, when Queen Elizabeth's cousin Gerald Lascelles moved in. Originally a mansion with 30 to 40 rooms, he is believed to have reduced it to an eight-bedroom house. It was then leased to Canadian retail billionaire Galen Weston and his wife Hilary in the early 1980s. The Westons built a polo stud in the grounds and hosted Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and Princess Caroline of Monaco for Hilary's 60th birthday party in a huge marquee next the house. Mr Weston, who was said to be worth £5.2 billion, died at 80 in 2021, but his family continued to live at the property, which is owned by the Crown Estate. One well-connected source told the Mail on Sunday: '[The Waleses] feel they have outgrown Adelaide Cottage and need somewhere more substantial. This is the perfect new home for them. It has a swimming pool and tennis court, and Charlotte loves playing tennis.' William and Kate are understood to have considered the vacant Fort Belvedere previously before deciding on Adelaide Cottage. At that point they are believed to have thought Adelaide Cottage was more suitable as it was closer to Queen Elizabeth and they also wanted to give their children a more down to earth start.

Drake fans disappointed over cancelled Manchester gig
Disappointed fans have spoken to the BBC following Canadian rapper Drake's cancellation of his concert in Manchester on Monday due to "travel logistics".Monday's concert was called off due to "unforeseen ferry and travel logistics" and has been rescheduled for next week, according to a statement issued by the Co-op Live arena."The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5th, and it's set to be an unforgettable night," the statement Drake had already performed at the Manchester venue on Friday and Saturday - suggesting he was in the local area - leaving fans unimpressed by the short-notice cancellation of Monday's event. 'Leaving with disappointment' Nina, 24, bought tickets for Monday night's show in June, from her home in Orlando, Florida, and decided to plan a European road trip around the concert date, culminating in seeing her "favourite artist" in Manchester on 28 July. "I made a big sacrifice just to make this concert, but I knew it would be the highlight of my trip," she said. "Yesterday morning I received an email from Ticketmaster notifying me that the tour has been postponed, which was shocking, as I had just arrived at the airport in Amsterdam to head to Manchester."Having been on holiday in Europe since mid-July, Nina is due to fly back to the US on Tuesday, and won't be able to attend the new paid nearly £340 for her General Admission floor ticket at Co-op Live and is awaiting a refund. "I came to Manchester simply for the performance, and I'm now leaving with disappointment. "I'm truly upset, but trying to enjoy the last day of my holiday here in Europe."There are many other loyal fans, like myself, who travelled thousands of miles for this performance - who worked extremely hard to be able to afford this trip, only to be left without any public apology from Drake or his team".And this isn't the first time Nina has missed out on seeing the Canadian star. Two years ago, she travelled to Nashville, Tennessee from Orlando - only for the concert once again to be cancelled the day before. 'I spent £500 on a new fit' Carlos, 18, made the journey from Brentford, in London, on Saturday, in order to see the rapper for the first time at the concert on Monday night. "I woke up to the email that it had been cancelled on Sunday morning," said Carlos."This was meant to be the first time seeing him, and it would probably be the last - because he doesn't come to the UK a lot [and] if he does, he'll be old and it won't be the same."I spent about £500 on a new [out]fit just for the night. But it's not the clothes, I paid to see Drake."All tickets remain valid for the rescheduled date, but Co-op Live have offered fans chance to apply for a refund if they cannot make the concert on 5 August. "I'm busy that day," said Carlos, adding he has sold back his £175 says he feels fortunate because his sister lives in Manchester, so he didn't have to spend money on a hotel ahead of the concert, but feels sorry for those who've travelled a long way and spent additional money to get to the venue. "Some have actually travelled continents to see this guy!" One of the most-streamed artists in the world, Drake released his new single 'Which One' with UK rapper Central Cee last Thursday during an episode of his Iceman stream, which was filmed around the city, including at Manchester Piccadilly railway station and Victoria has been performing across the UK this summer as part of his first tour in Europe in six years.
