Kerala Minister slams VCs for endorsing 'anti-knowledge' agenda
In a sharply worded statement, Minister Bindu accused the Sangh Parivar of being fundamentally opposed to modern, inclusive higher education and warned that its efforts to exert ideological control over universities must be firmly resisted.
Her statement came a day after the Vice Chancellors of four universities in Kerala -- reportedly including one appointed by the Left government -- attended the national education conference 'Gyan Sabha', organised by the Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas and inaugurated by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in Kochi on Sunday.
"A modern higher education system that aligns with the needs of today's world is intolerable to the Sangh Parivar," Bindu alleged. "The so-called 'Gyan Sabha' is part of a larger, deeply regressive effort to turn Kerala's knowledge-driven society back towards Brahminical domination. To ignore this agenda is to deny history itself," she said.
The Minister singled out certain Vice Chancellors, saying their involvement lent legitimacy to what she described as a "crude, anti-knowledge campaign" aimed at eroding academic freedom and silencing independent thought.
"It may be a matter of pride for the RSS that the minds of some Vice Chancellors--who are supposed to lead knowledge creation--have been turned into stables of anti-intellectualism.
But for Kerala, it is a matter of deep shame," she added. Minister Bindu warned that attempts to transform inclusive educational institutions into ideological training grounds for a Hindu Rashtra would not be tolerated.
For having colluded in chaining academic freedom and independent thought to the saffron stable, these Vice Chancellors will have to hang their heads in shame before the academic community for a long time to come, she said.
"The youth and the academic community will expose the Sangh Parivar's dangerous delusion that a crude army of ignorance can be built in Kerala. Enlightened by the true knowledge imparted by genuine teachers, the people of Kerala will cast into the dustbin the Sangh Parivar's schemes that treat the darkness of ignorance as something to be celebrated," Bindu said.

Kerala CM Pinarayi says nuns' arrest reveals Sangh Parivar's true anti-Christian character
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the arrest of two Keralite nuns on 'trumped-up' charges of human trafficking and forced conversion has let slip the Sangh Parivar's true anti-minority character. In a statement here, Mr. Vijayan said the local Bajrang Dal activists were responsible for the wrongful detention and subsequent incarceration of the sisters. He said the supporters of the perpetrators of the atrocities against Christians had no compunction in calling on Bishops' palaces in Kerala with cakes and smiles. Mr. Vijayan said he had written to Prime Minister Modi seeking justice for the nuns immediately after their arrests. Mr. Vijayan said the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, had defended the arrests and endorsed the charges of human trafficking and coerced conversion. Mr. Vijayan urged civil society to close ranks against the Sangh Parivar, which has obstinately sought to undermine secularism and negate the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

Kerala CM Pinarayi slams alleged arrest of Malayali nuns in Chhattisgarh, calls it Sangh Parivar's 'true face'
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan strongly condemned the arrest of Malayali nuns in Chhattisgarh, terming it a blatant example of the Sangh Parivar's aggressive stance against minorities. He alleged that the arrests were made based on a false complaint filed by Bajrang Dal activists and described the incident as a clear display of the Sangh Parivar's true character. In a statement, the Chief Minister said the incident marked yet another instance of the Sangh Parivar targeting the Christian community. 'Those who enter Christian homes and convents with cakes and smiles are the same people who now accuse nuns of religious conversion and human trafficking,' he said. Pinarayi alleged that the Sangh Parivar feared the pluralistic and harmonious traditions of India, which, he said, was why attacks against minority communities continued unabated. 'Upon learning about the arrest of nuns from Kerala, I had immediately written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking urgent intervention to ensure justice. However, the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and other authorities had attempted to justify the arrests instead,' he said. The Chief Minister further stated that the Sangh Parivar was relentlessly working to undermine the secular foundations of the country by promoting hate and divisive politics. He urged people to stand firm against violations of minority rights and the fundamental freedoms enshrined in the Constitution. 'Such encroachments must not only be opposed but decisively defeated,' he said.
