Emmerdale star reveals ‘long and painful road' amid health battle
Adam, who played Adam Barton in the ITV soap, revealed his diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis last August, but actually received the news in 2023, while he was taking part in Strictly Come Dancing.
He has since been sharing updates with fans on social media after suffering months of pain, and even being left unable to walk at points.
The star took to Instagram recently to share a message to his followers in a similar position to him. The picture sees Adam taking medication for the condition, which he says has 'changed' his life.
'I lost hope…I never thought I'd get my old life back… I was wrong! To anyone struggling with arthritis and is lost and can't seem to find hope… stay strong! It's along and painful road but I promise you…you will!', he wrote in the caption.
'These meds have changed my life … I'm pretty sure this post will get taken down again but before it does… I get so many questions asking what meds I'm on and I've been on several but the only one that has worked for me are biologic injections. I have an injection once every two weeks, no side effects no brain fog no throwing up, nothing! Nothing but pain free!!!
'I know this isn't going to heal the disease but it's given me a life I never thought I'd have again! Still putting in the work and focusing on diet and recovery as I'd like to think this disease can be cured naturally and one day I'd like to not have to take any meds but until then.'
Adam added: 'I want to bring hope to those who are suffering and also awareness to this disease as I feel like it's not talked about enough! I see you, I feel you and I know how hard it can be, but don't lose hope don't lose yourself to this disease. More Trending

The NHS describes rheumatoid arthritis as a 'long-term condition that causes pain, swelling and stiffness in the joints' with the main affected areas being the hands, feet and wrists.'
There is no cure, but early diagnosis and treatment can prevent 'flare-ups' from being a common occurrence.

We didn't have a photographer so Tom decided to do a little photoshoot of me in the waiting room on his iPhone. Very glam. Very high fashion. Then our Moms signed the papers as witnesses and it was all very lovely. Davina McCall makes emotional relationship confession as she 'looks forward'
Two years after her marriage with Matthew Robertson ended, former Big Brother host Davina McCall has been in a relationship with her former hair stylist, Michael Douglas Long Lost Family star Davina McCall has shared an emotional relationship confession, saying that she "looks forward" to one thing. Having first met her boyfriend, Michael Douglas, when he was working as her hairstylist while she was hosting Big Brother in the early 2000s, it wasn't until nearly two decades later that their friendship became romantic, when they started dating in 2019. Since then, their relationship has gone from strength to strength, with constant speculation surrounding whether the pair will eventually tie the knot. The couple even co-host their own podcast together, Making the Cut with Davina McCall and Michael Douglas. In a recent episode of the podcast, the pair shared that they had recently met up with Joel Dommett and his wife, Hannah Cooper While explaining that they had known the couple for a few years, Davina said they were all eager to find out a little bit more about each other. In doing so, they played a game devised by Michael, where they picked a song and explained how it related to a specific memory from their earlier years. Reflecting on the heart-warming moments with the Masked Singer presenter and his wife, Davina made an emotional confession to Michael, saying that she looks forward to hearing even more tales about his earlier life: "Because we're going to be together for the rest of our lives. I'm really looking forward to hearing all of the stories to all the songs." Later in the podcast, Davina revealed that Michael had even made her a playlist of songs to help her as she recently went into hospital to undergo brain surgery. This came after a scan of the presenter's brain last year revealed a tumour. After further tests confirmed that it was a benign colloid cyst, she underwent an operation to have it removed. Before settling down with Michael, Davina had already established herself as one of the most recognisable faces in broadcasting, having hosted Big Brother during its heyday in the early 2000s. Her career has continued to flourish since, including her long-standing role as co-host of ITV 's Long Lost Family alongside Nicky Campbell, where the pair help reunite relatives after years apart. In more recent years, she has also added an array of podcasts to her impressive CV, including Begin Again, a show that aims to "embrace midlife as their most transformative era yet." She can also be heard co-hosting Making the Cut weekly with her boyfriend, Michael.

Dame Prue Leith sets record on Great British Bake Off exit after quitting celebrity specials
The Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith has been a show judge since it moved to Channel 4 from the BBC in 2017 and has given an update after she quit the celebrity version Dame Prue Leith has addressed the rumours that she is going to quit The Great British Bake Off. The renowned TV chef, replaced Dame Mary Berry as a judge on the TV favourite when it moved to Channel 4 in 2017, and has been seen alongside Paul Hollywood ever since. She has also gone on to host Prue Leith's Cotswolds Kitchen for ITV and last year appeared on The Masked Singer. But, earlier this year, she did not appear on the celebrity edition of Bake Off so fans are always asking her if she has quit for good. But that is not the case, and during an appearance on ITV's Lorraine, she told viewers that she only stopped appearing the celebrity version because she needed a break, explaining: "I keep being asked if I'm leaving. This is because I left the celebrity [version]. I stopped doing that last year because I just hadn't had a holiday in the summer for eight years. I've only given up Celebrity [Bake Off]." The TV favourite is currently busy filming the American version of the baking show, and confirmed that she is still very much a part of the original programme. She said: "I still do The Great American Bake Off, which we are filming at the moment, and I still do The Great British Bake Off, which I love, and is the mother of them all." Prue, who was replaced by Caroline Waldegrave as a judge on the latest series of the Stand Up 2 Cancer specials, has no intention of leaving the regular version of the programme, adding: "It's the best job in telly. It's absolutely the best job in telly, I don't have to learn lines, I don't have to have script. I just walk on and eat cake." The star was also quick to heap praise on the addition of Alison Hammond as presenter, who replaced Matt Lucas in 2023 and now carries out hosting duties with Noel Fielding. Noting that the Big Brother legend has had a big impact on the team, she said: "I think Alison has made a huge difference to the team, she gets on so well with Noel with all of us. She's so loving and the bakers adore her, she's like Big Mama!" It was reported earlier this year that Prue had chosen to step back from her duties on the show to relish some well-deserved rest. And at the time, she disclosed: "It's mainly because these things are filmed back to back." She went on to say: "The whole way through the summer, so you start in April and you end at the end of August. Honestly, you get no time off. And, I'm getting a bit old and there's places I want to go." But her replacement is no newbie to the small screen, as Caroline has graced programmes like Chef School, Masterchef, and Tricks of the Trade, and she has also penned several cookbooks. As The Great Celebrity Bake Off gears up for its latest season this weekend, Lady Waldegrave shared her thoughts on succeeding Dame Prue Leith as a judge. She confessed: "I was completely terrified."
