‘Thunderbolts' Is The Best-Reviewed MCU Movie Since 2021

Early reactions were extremely positive on social media, and now that Thunderbolts has over a hundred reviews in from critics, it has turned out to be the best-reviewed MCU movie in nearly half a decade.
It's been a severely up and down era in the post-Endgame era, but with an 88% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics, that means Thunderbolts is the best-reviewed MCU movie since 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home at a 93%, where that multiverse crossover is one of the highest-scored MCU movies period.
What else does that list include? Here's every MCU movie's score since Avengers: Endgame
This is an era that includes the only three 'rotten' scored MCU movies in the form of Eternals, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and most recently Captain America: Brave New Word. The last of which is an issue considering it fully introduced the new Cap who's supposed to lead whoever the new Avengers end up being from here, a much more major character than we saw in Eternals of Quantumania.

Generally speaking, critics have been giving the MCU far less leeway in the post-Endgame era. I have to believe if movies like Captain Marvel came out now, it would score less than its 79%, and The Marvel, I would say objectively a far better movie, is at a 62%. But yes this era also features just…not very good movies.
Thunderbolts appears to in fact be a very good movie. That does not necessarily mean it will do amazingly at the box office, but with amazing trailers, fan-favorite characters like Bucky and Yelena and now these great reviews, hopefully it will indeed perform well. It feels like a different sort of film than the endlessly green-screened slate of MCU features, as a recent promo having Florence Pugh herself base jump off a skyscraper would indicate.
Thunderbolts is out May 2, and we'll see how it does from there. Supposedly it also will feature the 'best post-credits scene in Marvel history' according to early viewers, and to keep that a surprise I've muted every term possible online. You might want to as well.

Andrew Barth Feldman's Muppet*Vision 3D tribute is absolutely wonderful Since nothing lasts forever and the cruel specter of time claims all things sacred, Disney's Hollywood Studio will shut the doors to Muppet*Vision 3D after Saturday. After more than 30 years of "state-of-the-art" 3D effects and saluting all nations (but mostly America), Muppets maestro Jim Henson's last true masterwork will eventually be replaced with a Monsters, Inc. section of the park and plays its last show this weekend. While the attraction never got the consistent attention of, say, a roller coaster or a landmark dark ride, it's still one of the best experiences Disney Parks ever crafted. It's a testament to Henson's genius that it never lost its zeal in the decades since its opening, and there really wasn't ever anything quite like it to watch in a theater. Last year, I wrote that Muppet*Vision 3D is "a timeless piece of Disney history that should stand for as long as the theme park surrounding it stands, and closing it would feel completely antithetical to the way Disney treats its other classic attractions, with deep reverence and keen understanding of how awful it would be to snuff out that corner of irreplaceable Disney magic forever." Well, Disney Parks clearly didn't read that or, y'know, care, because the attraction is headed to the big theme park in the sky after Saturday's final shows. To help all of us cope with such a colossal loss, actor Andrew Barth Feldman crafted an absolutely brilliant tribute to the Muppets attraction that we know Kermit and the gang would be proud to watch. Seriously, this is just wonderful. Feldman teaming up with Defunctland's Kevin Perjurer to send off Muppet*Vision 3D with a hysterical bang is just the best way any of this could go We're going to miss Henson's great attraction like all get out, but we will fire this up whenever we need a smile... and the YouTube bootleg footage of the attraction itself, which you can watch below as many times as you'd like. RIP Muppet*Vision 3D. We will miss you, your cannon fire, your cranky old men in the balcony, your penguin symphony and your floating cream pies. Sweetums forever.

The theatrical merch game has hit new heights with a massive Galactus popcorn bucket for The Fantastic Four: First Steps that's 20 inches wide and 17.5 inches tall. It's glorious. Whether you're there for the movie or just to flex your snack setup, this thing is going to turn heads in your theater lobby like a celestial being demanding tribute in buttery kernels. The collection also includes a H.E.R.B.I.E. popcorn-and-drink combo container, there's even a Fantasticar-shaped popcorn holder because apparently, it's not enough to just eat your popcorn.
