Sabah Immigration detains 40 illegal immigrants in Kundasang
The integrated operation, which followed intelligence and public tip-offs, targeted four separate locations in the district. Eighteen officers from the Ranau District Immigration Office were involved.
Sabah Immigration director Datuk SH Sitti Saleha Habib Yussof said 48 individuals were inspected, with 40 detained for various immigration offences.
"Of those detained, 26 were men, six women, seven boys, and one girl, all of whom were either Indonesian or Filipino nationals."
"All those detained did not possess valid travel documents or passes," she said in a press statement.
The case is being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63, as well as Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963.
Sitti Saleha said the department would intensify operations in identified hotspots frequented by undocumented foreigners.
She also said that stern action would be taken against those who abet such activities, including harbouring or employing illegal immigrants.

229 foreigners denied entry at KLIA for immigration violations
PUTRAJAYA: A total of 229 foreign nationals were refused entry into Malaysia after failing to meet immigration requirements during a 24-hour operation at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The operation, conducted by the Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), screened 764 visitors at Terminals 1 and 2 from 7.30 am Tuesday to 7.30 am today. Bangladesh nationals received the highest number of Not-To-Land (NTL) notices, with 204 individuals turned away. Fourteen Indian nationals, three each from Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Indonesia, and two from Cambodia were also denied entry. Among the Bangladeshis, 66 arrived on three early-morning flights from Dhaka. Fake hotel bookings, lack of return tickets and insufficient proof of funds were the main reasons for refusal. 'These individuals are believed to have intended to misuse their visit passes to stay and work illegally in the country,' AKPS said. In a separate case, an Indonesian man in his 50s was caught attempting to re-enter Malaysia just six days after being deported for a similar offence. PUTRAJAYA, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- The Immigration Department (JIM) has dismantled a document forgery syndicate and uncovered illegal massage services in separate operations in Kuala Lumpur, arresting 24 foreign nationals and seizing cash and equipment linked to the illicit activities. In a special raid on Monday night in Taman Maluri, JIM detained 19 men, 16 from Bangladesh and three from Myanmar, all aged between 18 and 43, suspected of producing fake electronic Temporary Employment Visit Pass (e-PLKS) slips. The syndicate allegedly operated behind the cover of phone repair and convenience stores, charging RM100 per falsified slip tailored to passport holders lacking valid passes. Immigration director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban said the forgery ring had likely been active for about a year. Among those arrested, two Bangladeshi men were overstayers, while most detainees had no valid travel documents. Authorities seized RM11,357 in cash, forged e-PLKS slips, passports, laptops, printers, closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras and city hall business licenses during the operation. The suspects have been remanded at the Putrajaya Immigration Depot pending further investigation. In a related crackdown yesterday in Sri Petaling, JIM arrested one Thai national and four Myanmar men for running illegal massage services targeting male customers. The operation seized RM3,101 in suspected proceeds, promotional materials and QR codes for payment. The Thai national held a Social Visit Pass, while the Myanmar men were undocumented. Zakaria said the illicit massage service operated covertly in unlicensed spa centres and charged RM109 per hour, having run for four months. Two local men have been served notices to assist with the investigations.
