18-yr-old boy dies after bike collides with tractor-trolley
The deceased was identified as Abhishek, a student of BKT Inter College and a resident of Dhinohari village, while his cousin Dharmendra, 17, from Chandauli in Sitapur, was seriously injured.
As per reports, the victims were returning after attending the Tiranga Yatra. When they reached near Deori Rukhara village on the Lucknow-Sitapur National Highway, their bike collided head-on with a tractor-trolley.
Initial investigation revealed that both were going to their maternal uncle Chetram's house after attending the Tiranga Yatra in school. The tractor driver fled from the spot.
Passersby informed the police about the incident, and a team of police took both of them to Ramsagar Mishra Hospital, where doctors declared Abhishek dead. Dharmendra was referred to the trauma centre in critical condition. The police sent the body for postmortem after completing the formalities.
The search for tractor driver is on, police said.

Fishermen blame Centre; to go ahead with rail blockade agitation in Ramanathapuram district
Blaming the Union government squarely for the arrests and impounding of trawlers by Sri Lankan Navy, the Tamil Nadu fishermen on Saturday said that they would intensify their agitations. The fishermen have not been venturing into the sea for the last week due to the 'continued' arrests under charges of poaching. On Independence Day, they observed a token fast in Thangachimadam with families and children. On Saturday, the Ramanathapuram district administration had invited the striking fishers for a talk. On top of it, the fishermen were also jailed for six months to two years depending on the charges of repeating the offence. Hence, they announced to go ahead with the rail blockade stir on August 19.

The Rajasthan Police announced the arrest of three persons allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, along with detaining three minors for allegedly planning to carry out terror strikes in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior on Independence Day. 'The team concealed its identity and, without caring for their lives, worked hard to collect intelligence about the wanted and arrested them on August 10,' the ADG told the media. He used to give instructions to them through online applications. He had also instructed them to carry out blasts in Delhi and Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, on Independence Day, August 15,' the ADG said. Mumbai police had said in June that Zeeshan Akhtar had been detained in Canada. However, there has been little clarity on the case or Akhtar's whereabouts since then.

2 Russians among 3 held for drug trafficking in Himachals Kangra
Dharamsala, Aug 16 (PTI) In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Kangra police arrested three people, including two Russians, with 180.30 grams of hashish in two separate cases on Independence Day. Kangra Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Ratan said a team from Panchrukhi police station, acting on a tip-off, intercepted a vehicle and recovered 102 grams of hashish from two Russian nationals, including a woman. Both were taken into custody and booked under the NDPS Act. Their vehicle has also been seized. In another case the same night, a patrol team of Baijnath police station recovered 78.30 grams of hashish from Vishal Kumar, a resident of Padol Road, Baijnath.
