Snow Peak & Merrell's Minimalist MTL Long Sky 2 Matryx SP Packs a Technical Punch
Snow PeakandMerrellhave teamed up for a second collaboration, this time reinterpreting the 2022-born MTL LONG SKY 2 trail runner. Sharing a passion for the outdoors, the Japanese brand and the American performance label present the MTL Long Sky 2 Matryx SP, an ultra-durable variant in a minimal all-black colorway.
Departing from the super chunky silhouette of their jointMoab Speed 2 GORE-TEXreleased in the Spring, the MTL Long Sky 2 Matryx SP is a much slimmer model with a pared-back upper. However, the minimal trail running sneaker packs a punch with its technical details.
The upper features a MATRYX® upper with +TPU reinforcement, a tough multifilament blend of Kevlar fiber and high-strength polyamide. This enhancement adds strong abrasion resistance and minimizes stretching, allowing for a simplistic upper with reduced overlays and a breathable feel.
Unlike the previous gray pair from the collaborators, Snow Peak recasts this model with black-on-black details, evoking the charcoal of an outdoor campfire. In addition to a tonal Merrell wordmark stretching across the lateral panel, the Snow Peak logo is shown on the heel and insole.
In recent seasons, Merrell has hiked its contemporary collaborations, unveiling an avant-garde moc withcôte&cielin late June and a suede mule with London-based brandYMCin March.
Set for release on August 8 at Snow Peak's physical locations andwebstore.

My Go-to Comfy Merrell Hiking Shoes Are on Mega Sale at Amazon
My twin brother and I spent years growing up trying to highlight our differences and personalities. That meant avoiding twin stereotypes, including wearing matching outfits. We've carried this shared dedication to individuality into adulthood, and we still don't typically gravitate toward similar styles. That is, until one of us discovers a new travel brand we love enough to share with the other. Just take Merrell, for example: This outdoor footwear brand has been my go-to for comfortable hiking shoes for quite some time. While I've run through a few different Merrell hiking shoes over the years, the Women's Moab 3 style, which is currently on sale at Amazon, remains in high rotation in my current travel wardrobe. I always reach for them when I know I'm about to be a little harder on my feet than usual, or need an outdoorsy shoe that can stand up to dirt. In fact, I'm such a big fan of Merrell that I raved about the brand to my twin brother when he needed hiking shoes five years ago, and now, he shares my love for the brand. Jason picked out the Moab Flight—an older style that's similar to the men's Moab 3 shoes—and has been wearing them ever since. Fast-forward to this year, we visited the Galapagos together, which meant plenty of discussions on what we should pack. As we debated the best sun protection creams and bug sprays to bring on our cruise with Ecoventura, we both agreed on one thing: We'd definitely be packing our Merrell hiking shoes. These Merrell hiking shoes are designed to tackle trails with heavy debris, making them perfect for the Galapagos' varying landscape. During the trip, we hiked on rocky terrains, but perhaps our most challenging trek was on dried lava. If you've never encountered this surface before, it tends to be jagged and a bit unpredictable. I pride myself on my balance and endurance, and still almost tripped a few times. Our Moab shoes kept us comfortable and stable during the hike due to their ankle support, which helped with stability and protected us from obstacles. The sturdy outsoles, with strong traction, kept us afoot on uneven and slippery terrain. My brother and I both found ourselves reaching for our hiking shoes throughout the trip, and no matter what our trek entailed, these Merrell Moab 3 hiking shoes kept our feet pain-free. 'They were good for hiking, beach walks, walking on lava, and through mud,' my brother agreed, adding that his feet stayed dry and comfortable the entire trip thanks to the built-in cushioning and shock absorption. Plus, they're waterproof, making them perfect for destinations with unpredictable weather. When I got hit by a rogue wave during what was supposed to be a dry landing, I feared I'd be walking on squishy, wet shoes the entire day—instead, these shoes shielded my hiking socks from water and dried quickly in the Ecuadorian heat. If you, like me, can't help but judge a hiking shoe by its cover, I'm happy to report that these shoes are as cute as they are comfortable. I have the white/soft coral style, which looks more like a light pink in person. They added just the right amount of color and femininity to my otherwise earthy, neutral hiking outfits. The women's Moab 3 comes in 12 colorways, and the men's version comes in 14 colorways (I'm thinking my brother should get the Adobe Rose colorway next so our footwear can truly twin). The Merrell Moab 3 also comes in a mid-height variation with extra ankle coverage, and is available in wide widths; however, it's worth noting that there are fewer color options available in this style. I'm generally between a size 6 and 6.5 in shoes, and found that the 6.5 fit me perfectly. If you've shopped Merrell shoes before, I'd say that this shoe runs consistent with the rest of the brand's sizing. I also appreciate that they were designed to be durable and eco-friendly, and are constructed with recycled materials and leather. Unsurprisingly, my brother and I aren't the only fans of these hiking shoes. Both the women's and men's versions of the Merrell Moab 3 have thousands of five-star reviews. On the Merrell website, one shopper shared that they hiked for 30 miles while these shoes were 'brand new out of the box' and ended up with zero blisters. Another reviewer agreed, writing that they were comfortable 'right out of the box' with 'no break-in required.' Another traveler even wore them to climb to the summit of Mount Le Conte in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, reporting that the 'shoes were very comfortable and I didn't slide on the slippery, wet rocks at all.' A third reviewer who wears them to walk three miles daily with her Siberian Husky wrote, 'I particularly like the roomy toe box and the deep lugs on the soles.' Whether you're looking for extra support for your daily walks or need a sturdy sneaker to hit the trails in, you can't go wrong with the Merrell Moab 3 Hiking Shoes. And while the shoes are on sale at Amazon, it's the perfect time to grab a pair for your fellow hiking buddy, too. Looking for more options? Read on for five similarly popular hiking shoes that will help you tackle any type of terrain, starting at $45. Love a great deal? 24 Summer Products To Help Beat Sweat
A waist clip fan that'll blow cold air right under your shirt like a personal AC unit. Its long-lasting battery will keep you cool for up to 24 hours, so you can tend to your garden 'til you drop. A cooling towel designed to help keep you from having a heatstroke during your summer hikes. Just wet, shake, and sling it around your neck for instant cooling that'll stave off your sweat. Don't let the heat keep you from reaching the top! Or a neck cooling tube that's basically an ice pack you can wear, minus the freezer burn or soaking wet T-shirt you end up with after it melts. It's designed to be sweat-proof, flexible, and lightweight to keep you comfortable *and* cool over two hours! A pack of SweatBlock wipes so you can wear that light-colored shirt again without fear of it changing colors. These are made with pure aluminum chloride to block your sweat for over a WEEK! You can say goodbye to sweat stains and hello to dry pits. A hands-free, rechargeable neck fan for your summer vacation because no one told you Europe has no AC! It has three adjustable speeds with a multi-stage air duct that keeps the fan super quiet, meaning you can hit all the tourist spots without attracting too much attention (though you might catch a few envious stares from people wishing they had their own fan). A mini handheld fan that triples as a flashlight *and* a power bank so you're ultra prepared for your next desert music festival. Nothing is worse than overheating or sweating off your glitter makeup as you stand in a crowd waiting for your favorite artist. With up to 19 hours of battery life on a single charge, it'll keep you cool until the sun goes down! A pair of cooling arm sleeves designed with moisture-wicking fabric that also blocks 98% of the sun's UV rays. If your summer goals involve a marathon or just riding your bike more often, these sleeves will help keep you protected and cool as a cucumber. You can't use "it's too hot out" as an excuse anymore; get out there! A handheld misting fan that'll be your savior this baseball season. As you lounge watching your kiddo practice their pitch, you can have AC right in your hand or hanging from your umbrella. You'll be the cool parent who's *not* drenched in sweat, chugging their kids' water. A Megababe Thigh Rescue stick for your poor thighs that can't last through a whole day of sightseeing. There's no reason you should be walking around this summer in jeans (an overheating, sweaty nightmare)! Swipe this on *before* your next long adventure so your skin can glide with no friction or irritation. BTW, this also works for that annoying bra strap that rubs your skin to the bone, or those shoes that have not stopped giving you blisters. A double-sided cooling blanket in case your partner can't sleep with the AC on, but you can't sleep without it — this is an easy compromise. One side is made with a Japanese cooling fabric that absorbs your body's natural heat to keep you sweat-free, while the other side is made of lightweight cotton so you can still feel cozy, but *not* like you're wrapped in a hot, fresh tortilla. A cooling pillow that'll have you waking up dry instead of in a pillow puddle. It has a distinct cooling side so you don't have to flip your pillow back and forth all night and with adjustable filling so you can have the perfect amount of plush. You can say hello to a dry, full night's sleep! A tower fan for when AC is just not in the budget this month. No need to have your house become a personal sauna, because this powerhouse of a fan blows cool air at up to 25 feet per second! It has four speeds, from a gentle breeze to a storm of wind. An outdoor misting system that'll transform your backyard into a tropical rainforest. It releases a light mist that absorbs the surrounding heat, keeping your area to a comfortable 73 degrees Fahrenheit without leaving you drenched in water. A pack of deodorant wipes for when your antiperspirant decides to clock out by noon. There's no need to panic when you get a quick whiff of your B.O. — these wipes remove sweat, odor, and bacteria so you can go back to work feeling like you took a quick shower. A can of thermal spring water to give you instant cooling after a long, sweaty gym sesh. Sure, it's ~technically~ water in a can, but reviewers swear its soothing mineral formula has helped calm their skin's redness, and the mist is so light that it won't overly wet your already sweat-drenched face. A Brumate Era 40-ounce water bottle that'll be your emotional support as you battle the summer heat. It's *actually* leakproof, allowing you to lock your straw so you can simply toss it in any bag instead of having to hold it all day. The inner part of the straw is stainless steel, keeping plastic out of your drink, and the insulation keeps your water cool for over 24 hours so you can have that *ahhh* ice-cold sip every time. No more hot car water to quench your thirst during a long road trip. A bottle of sweat-absorbing hand lotion for those moments you want to make the first move but don't want to be humbled by your clammy hands. This lotion helps manage symptoms of excessive hand sweat without adding another layer of slippery grease. Just apply a pea-size amount and enjoy a long, romantic walk in the park without feeling the need to wipe your hands every five seconds. A sweat-absorbing headband to catch all your forehead sweat before it blinds you during your bike ride. It's made with lightweight, sweat-wicking fabric that'll keep you dry — and *without* feeling like a soaking wet towel is just plopped on your head. A set of cooling bed sheets for when your bed feels like a human oven that's cooking you for dinner. Waking up feeling like a rotisserie chicken? *Not* how you should start your day. These sheets have a silky, breathable bamboo fabric that stays cool all night long and wicks away moisture so you can get a *refreshing* eight hours of sleep and not wake up in a puddle. A pack of cooling patches you can stick to your neck, back, or right on your head for an instant cool-down that lasts up to eight hours! They cover a lot of surface area but can also be cut to fit comfortably on any part of your body (or for small kids). You can even hide them under your clothes, so when you're walking around the amusement park, everyone will be questioning how you're not drenched in sweat. OneSize On 'Til Dawn setting spray that'll keep your full beat on your face instead of melting away the second you walk outside. Its weightless, waterproof formula gives you an airbrush finish that won't make you want to crawl out of your skin from layers of product. Makeup and sweat don't mix, so lock it in! A bladeless fan to keep you from sweating through your businesswear in your office that has yet to get working AC. It's small enough to place right on your desk, and it's quiet, so your cubicle neighbor won't file a complaint (they'll be asking to borrow it instead). Supergoop (Re)setting Powder with SPF 35 for when your poolside makeup look is starting to sweat away — now you can mattify your shine and get an extra dose of UV protection at the same time. Just toss it in your beach bag for quick touch-ups all day. A pair of moisture control socks since you can't just rub deodorant all over your feet. (I guess you can, but pls don't put it back in your armpit.) These socks are made with a soft, breathable fabric that wicks away sweat and enhances airflow so that during a long day of work, you're *not* walking around with puddles in your shoes.
