Jordan and Arab, Islamic States Condemn Knesset's Approval of West Bank Annexation - Jordan News

Jordan News3 days ago
Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Indonesia, Nigeria, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation have all strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset's approval of a declaration calling for the imposition of so-called 'Israeli sovereignty' over the occupied West Bank. اضافة اعلان These states and organizations described the declaration as a blatant and unacceptable violation of international law and a direct breach of relevant UN Security Council resolutions—particularly Resolutions 242 (1967), 338 (1973), and 2334 (2016)—which affirm the illegality of all measures and decisions aimed at legitimizing the occupation, including settlement activities in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967. They reaffirmed that Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories, emphasizing that this unilateral Israeli move carries no legal weight and cannot alter the legal status of the occupied Palestinian land, especially East Jerusalem, which remains an integral part of that territory. They stressed that such Israeli actions would only fuel growing regional tensions, already heightened by Israel's assault on the Gaza Strip and the resulting humanitarian catastrophe. The parties called on the international community—including the UN Security Council and all concerned stakeholders—to assume their legal and moral responsibilities and take urgent action to stop Israel's illegal policies aimed at forcibly imposing a new reality and undermining prospects for a just and lasting peace, as well as the viability of the two-state solution.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to the two-state solution based on international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative, including the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

'Israel' extends military presence in Tulkarm camps, West Bank, through Oct

The Israeli Occupation has issued a decision to extend the presence of its forces in the Tulkarm refugee camps in the West Bank until October 31, 2025, contradicting earlier reports that suggested a potential withdrawal at the start of next month. The decision includes the renewed occupation of both Nur Shams and Tulkarm camps, as well as a new ban on Palestinian presence in the Nur Shams woodlands, an area outside the camp boundaries. As a result, nearly 30,000 displaced residents of the two camps will continue to suffer from harsh and deteriorating conditions for at least three more months. The move signals the continuation of the "Israeli" military's offensive on the area, despite growing humanitarian concerns and repeated calls for de-escalation.

We sent $60 million in food aid to Gaza, but no one thanked us, says Trump

US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that his administration had allocated USD 60 million in aid to send food into Gaza two weeks ago, but added that 'no one thanked us.' In remarks made during a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Trump said: 'We delivered USD 60 million worth of food into Gaza. It got in. No one thanked us. Not Hamas, not anyone.' Trump also downplayed the severity of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, saying: 'I don't think there's a famine in Gaza". He went on to describe the situation on the ground as chaotic and mismanaged: 'People are stealing the food, they're stealing the money, they're stealing the money for the food, they're stealing weapons, they're stealing everything. It's a mess. That whole place is a mess.' The president also reiterated his stance on "Israeli" captives held by Hamas: 'Hamas must release the hostages and detainees. We've already brought most of them back.' 'It's up to Israel now. Israel has to make a decision about Gaza.'

Calls to boycott sports platform DAZN grow over ties to 'Israeli' leadership

A growing online campaign is calling for the boycott of DAZN, a global sports streaming service, over claims of the platform's connections to 'Israeli' political and military figures, as well as its perceived stance on the ongoing war in Gaza. Organizers of the campaign cite several reasons behind their calls, primarily centered around the company's ownership, executive leadership, and public statements by affiliated figures. Ownership and leadership concerns DAZN is owned by Access Industries, founded by British-American businessman Len Blavatnik. Critics point to Blavatnik's past financial support for 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Likud party. Attention has also been drawn to Access Industries' president Danny Cohen, who has written opinion pieces criticizing media outlets for what he calls anti-'Israel' bias. Cohen previously signed a letter urging the BBC not to air a documentary focusing on Gaza's humanitarian crisis. Military background and political views Shay Segev, DAZN's CEO, is an 'Israeli' national who served in the 'Israeli' military for four years. Campaigners have raised concerns about his background and its potential influence on the platform's neutrality. In addition, DAZN reporter Emily Austin has faced criticism for expressing strong support for the 'Israeli' military and denying the severity of Gaza's humanitarian crisis in public statements.
