Here are hottest jobs in tech, and the roles you should avoid

Tech job postings have plunged 35% since early 2020, with some roles seeing radically lower demand. The decline began post-pandemic and continued after ChatGPT's release in late 2022. AI and machine learning roles are in demand, while junior positions require more experience. Tech hiring has fallen dramatically in recent years, and certain jobs are no longer in demand, while other specific roles have surged. New tech hiring data from Indeed shows overall postings have plunged 35% from early 2020. Roughly half this decline happened during the post-pandemic sell-off, when tech companies realized they'd overhired. The other half happened after ChatGPT came out in late 2022. "While there isn't a smoking gun linking AI to the plunge, automation trends could be a reason the weakness persists," said Brendon Bernard, a senior economist at Indeed. "We're also seeing potential AI effects show up in the types of tech jobs still in demand, and rising experience requirements among the opportunities that remain." Demand for AI and machine learning roles is up, while listings for junior tech positions have dropped significantly. More job postings now require 5+ years of experience. Here's what hot, and what's not, in tech jobs over the past five years or so: I often think that the most boring technology ends up being the most profitable. So it may not be surprising to see an SAP job at the top of the table on the right here. No disrespect to SAP. Shares of the German enterprise software giant have more than tripled since late 2022.

New leak could have spilled all the Pixel 10 Pro Fold specs — here's what to expect

We're not far off the Made By Google event, which means the official reveal of the next generation of Google Pixels is almost here. However, as the event draws closer, we've also seen the rumor mill go into overdrive, including a recent leak showcasing the full technical specifications for Pixel 10 Pro Fold. This leak comes from the German site Winfuture, showcasing nearly everything about the phone. For the most part, the leaked sheet matches a lot of what we've seen in other rumors, as well as the recent trailer for the phone, but there are more than a few differences as well. Pixel 10 Pro Fold (winfuture) Cover Display 6.4" OLED Actua Inner Display 8-inch OLED Super Actua Flex Refresh Rate 1-120Hz Chipset Google Tensor G5 + security chip Titan M2 RAM 16GB Storage 256GB/512GB/1TB Cameras 48MP wide-angle, 10.5MP ultra-wide-angle, 10.8MP 5x telephoto, 10MP selfie x 2 Battery 5,015 mAh Charging 30W (wired) 15W (Qi2) IP Rating IP68 Overall, the specs in Winfuture's sheet appear relatively similar to other leaks we've seen, but there are a couple of differences to note. Firstly, the Winfuture specs appear to confirm that the outer screen will be 6.4 inches, while the inner display will be 8 inches. The report also reiterates that both displays will feature a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits, 10% brighter than the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Interestingly, the report from Winfuture lists the wired charging speed for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold as 30W, rather than the 24W we'd seen in other leaks. However, it again supports the claim that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will feature 15W Qi2 charging, which is expected to connect with the rumored magnetic Pixel Snap accessories. One odd thing in the report is that the spec sheet details the Pixel 10 Pro Fold featuring a 10.8MP 5x telephoto lens, the same as seen on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. In the same piece, Winfuture states that the phone is capable of supporting 10x optical, or lossless zoom. Other than that, the cameras mostly appear to match the ones seen on last year's model, with a 48MP main camera, a 10.5MP ultrawide and a 10MP selfie camera on both screens. For the most part, the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold is looking like a very decent foldable, albeit with some older hardware. While we will have to wait until we can test the phones ourselves, I have little doubt that it will find a place as one of the best foldable phones on release. On that note, the Made By Google event is scheduled the August 20, while the phone itself is tipped for release on October 9. While we haven't seen an official price, a recent leak indicates that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will start at $1,799, the same as the prior generation. The report also indicates that the phone won't be seeing a price increase in Germany, so this seems likely. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.
