Lucy Spraggan has to go through close pal Simon Cowell's partner to speak to him
X Factor star Lucy Spraggan, who has enjoyed a successful career since appearing on the talent show in 2012, has kept a close friendship with music mogul Simon Cowell
Lucy Spraggan has said that she has to "go through" Lauren to speak to Simon Cowell, despite him walking her down the aisle. Simon and Lucy have been close ever since she competed on The X Factor back in 2012, but she still doesn't have direct contact with him.
Lucy has said that Simon never gets in touch first and when she wants to speak to him, she has to go through his partner Lauren. However, this is due to the fact that Simon doesn't have his own personal mobile phone.
Simon is only contactable through his fiancée Lauren Silverman due to this. Despite not having regular contact over the phone, Lucy said that she and her wife Emilia Smith often stay with Simon and Lauren at their homes in LA and the Cotswolds as well as going on holiday to Barbados.
Lucy told The Sun: "I speak to Lauren all the time. But Simon hasn't got a phone so I speak to him when she's on the phone!"
Simon played a big role at Lucy's wedding last year. He walked the singer down the aisle as well as reading a poem at the ceremony.
It was during a holiday when Simon was asked by Lucy to do the honour. Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, the singer-songwriter said: "It's as nice to have a close bond with anyone. He's just a really remarkable guy, really individual person.
"I speak about this a lot, there's a lot of people that have a lot of things to say about him, there's a bit of a mass perception that a lot of people can have and I can only go off the person that I've interacted with and I'll judge someone on their merit and how they've been with me.
"I've had nothing but great times with Simon and had a lot of really important conversations, I think he's a great guy."
Lucy was previously married to Georgina Gordon before they went their separate ways in 2019. The two of them talked about wanting to start a family together and they fostered 12 children during their six year marriage.
However, Lucy has said now that she doesn't see children being in her future. She said: "I don't want kids. All of my friends that had kids are like, 'Luce - don't do it. I love them, but don't!'
"Em has some health issues herself. And, like, I do music and I do my job so that I can experience peace in between. I feel like I couldn't give what I need to give to my career if I had a child, and I wouldn't have any f*****g peace If I had a child. It's dogs, dogs for me."

'Molly-Mae's closest friends and members of her family think this is a terrible idea and that it is all going to end in tears again,' the source said. The reconciliation has also infuriated Molly's older sister, Zoe, who has been vocal about her fears for Molly's future and how she believes Tommy's issues with alcohol could cause problems again. And that in turn has allegedly rubbed Tommy's family, including boxer brother Tyson and his wife Paris, up the wrong way. However, the couple have firmly put that rumour of her feud with her mother to sleep - following their day out with Debbie. Mother and daughter were both dressed in stylish black outfits paired off with sunglasses. While Tommy wore a CrossFit T-shirt, grey shorts and sliders. It comes days after Molly-Mae posted an emotional tribute to baby-daddy Tommy gushing he was "made to be a dad" following the pair's reunion. Following the launch of her latest Maebe fashion collection, the mum of one took to her Stories to upload a snap showing Tommy's celebratory cake emblazoned with the phrase: "Love you daddy." It sat perched on a table filled with images of him and Bambi, as well as a piece of painting art created by the tot. Watch moment Molly Mae admits she 'feels sick' watching back her Love Island audition with Tommy Fury The influencer then shared a black and white snapshot showing daddy and daughter cuddling in bed, with Molly-Mae posting a sweet message alongside it which read: "You are the most patient, calm, kind and loving daddy ever. "Watching the way you love our little girl is one of my favourite things in the world ... it's completely unconditional. "You were truly made to be a dad. Happy Father's Day." The Filter tan brand founder - who split briefly with Tommy last year - then posted a candid snap showing the trio in bed. Bambi was seen snuggling up to her dad, who was fast asleep. Recently the little family also enjoyed a getaway to a stunning Cotswolds retreat. The family stayed at the luxury Estelle Manor, where rooms start from £700-a-night. Molly-Mae's images at the time showed off the venue's amazing pool area and some of the views. The couple split up last summer but shared a New Year's Eve kiss and then headed off on a loved-up trip for Valentine's Day last month. After months of keeping fans guessing, last month Molly gave her followers an update on her and Tommy. The couple then revealed they have rekindled their romance and make things official during the recent part of Molly-Mae's Amazon docuseries later last month. During episode six, Molly revealed that she and Tommy were back on. In January, Tommy revealed his battle with booze was behind their break-up. 9 Molly-Mae looked stylish in her tonal outfit Credit: mancpicss66 9 Tommy was wearing a CrossFit Glasshouse shirt and shorts Credit: mancpicss66 9 Molly Mae, Tommy and Debbie attending to Bambi Credit: mancpicss66 9 Zoe has been vocal about her fears for her sister's future Credit: instagram/@zoerae/ 9 Molly-Mae's dad Stephen is also alleged to have concerns about the pair's reunion Credit: Instagram

'My Egyptian toyboy husband put me off sex - but I still will not divorce him'
Iris Jones, 86, spilled the beans on This Morning about her steamy antics with 40-year-old Mohamed Ibrahim. An OAP who boasted on TV about romps with her Egyptian toyboy says she has sworn off sex for good after their acrimonious split. Iris Jones, 86, spilled the beans on This Morning about her steamy antics with 40-year-old Mohamed Ibrahim and was open about their use of K-Y Jelly - saying their nights of passion left her feeling 'saddle-sore'. As reported by the Mirror, she married Mohamed - who is 46 years her junior - in 2020 in Cairo after meeting him on social media the year before. Her new husband moved to the UK in 2021 - but they split in 2023, and now she says: 'The idea of sex now makes my stomach turn. I'm not interested in men at all, not in companionship with them and certainly not sex with them. 'My experience with Mohamed has put me off relationships for life. I wish I'd never met him.' Iris, a former legal secretary, wed Mohamed on her third visit to Cairo in a civil ceremony, with only his dad in attendance as a witness. Iris, who has two sons, Stephen, 59, and Darren, 58, says before she got married Stephen begged her not to do anything rash. Even the wedding reception being a meal in McDonald's did not put her off, she says, adding: 'I didn't care. I thought I was madly in love, so I would have married him anywhere.' Her desire turned to disdain, however, and she kicked Mohamed out following 'non-stop arguing'. She says: 'I finally realised I had enough. I was so tired from all the housework and cleaning up after him that the physical side dwindled to nothing. 'Mohamed was only with me for my money. I can see that now, and I look back and think, 'How could I have been so stupid?' The Mohamed I met in Egypt was Prince Charming, but living in my bungalow he was like the Prince of Darkness.' Bank statements show Iris transferred Mohamed thousands over the course of a year, which she claims were loans he has not repaid – which Mohamed disputes. The last time she had any contact with her husband, she says, was when she emailed him last year asking for his address so she could speak to the Home Office about his stay in the UK. She says: 'All I got back was him telling me his solicitor's details. I did see him in my local Tesco a few months after I chucked him out. 'When he saw me he tried to run away and hide. I have asked for the money back but I've now made peace with the fact I will never see it again. I don't want to see him again either, but I don't hate him. 'He hasn't ruined my life. I have two lovely sons, two lovely daughters-in-law – a great family life. 'But I feel so much regret for the pain I caused them. They begged me not to marry him. But I didn't listen.' Despite the acrimony, divorce is not on the cards, Iris – who has been divorced before – reveals. She insists: 'I'm not paying out for a divorce. I'm not spending any more money on him. It would cost me more to divorce him than to stay married and I don't want to lose any more money.' Iris says that, since her split, women who tell her they have been conned by romantic partners have contacted her asking for advice. She says: 'I feel like an agony aunt to them. It's very sad that what's happened to me is so common. Some age gap relationships can work. But I would urge women to be careful of relationships with much younger men. They can be genuine but mine wasn't.' These days Iris, who lives in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, has replaced her passion for sex with a new hobby. She reveals: 'I like drawing caricatures. I find it really therapeutic. I do it every day and post my pictures on social media. 'I do draw Mohamed all the time – one drawing shows him as a wolf in sheep's clothing.' When the couple appeared on This Morning, Mohamed told hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby: 'I love Iris to the point of madness.' He is still in the UK, and says: 'I have been employed legally in England as a welder in construction and as a security guard. 'I have worked hard I have paid tax and have never claimed any benefits since being here in this country. I have been accused of taking [thousands], where is the evidence? I never asked [Iris] for money. I was no scammer. I paid her housekeeping every month.'

King Charles knew Queen had died after hearing two devastating words
It was a bittersweet moment for Charles as he stepped into the role he'd been waiting for his whole life for. The Royal Family has been through a few twists and turns but it was the end of a long stable chapter for the UK when Queen Elizabeth died in 2022. The monarch served an incredible 70 years on the throne, making her Britain's longest-reigning, and she was one of the most popular public figures across the globe. With the end of an era marked by the Queen's death, it also heralded a new beginning as King Charles stepped into the role he'd been waiting to do his whole life. At the age of 73, Charles became King, a bittersweet move as he was forced to navigate his new position whilst also grieving for his mum, as writes the Mirror. The Queen was at Balmoral and had been at the Scottish estate for the weeks leading up to her death at the age of 96. On the morning she passed, September 8, 2022, the then Prince Charles was called and told that it would not be long before his mother died. He was joined by his sister Anne, and the pair spent the final few hour's of the monarch's life taking turns to sit beside her, it's revealed in a new documentary. Channel 5's Birkhall: The King's Secret Sanctuary, sees experts discuss the moment Charles became the new King as they delve into the fact that he was 'summoned to Balmoral" from his own home on the Aberdeenshire estate, Birkhall, which is described as one of his favourite residences. Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said in the documentary: 'He was told that it would probably be a few hours before she passed away." Royal expert and journalist Emily Andrews added: "Charles and Anne had been taking it in turns to sit with the Queen and then, I think, as she slipped into a coma, Charles needed a bit of fresh air and some nature. "So he went to the grounds of Birkhall, and it was there that he took the call." Viewers will discover that ahead of Charles being given the official news of the Queen's death, he already knew thanks to two words that were said to him upon answering the call. Jennie said: "He knew what had happened. "Because he was addressed by the person who rang him, the courtier, as 'Your Majesty' and then he knew, 'Well, my mother has died' and obviously he raced back to Balmoral to be at her side." It's also claimed in the documentary that members of the family felt relief after their huge loss because the Queen had been able to spend her last days at her beloved Balmoral, where she'd spent some of her happiest times. Emily Andrews added: "I think everybody in the Royal Family, actually, was really glad it happened in Scotland and for Charles as well to be at Birkhall, where it's such a kind of safe space for him, he feels very calm and relaxed, I think was very important'. After the news circulated within the wider family, Prince William, Edward and Andrew soon travelled to Balmoral, followed a short time later by Prince Harry. Harry has since revealed that he found out about his grandmother's death from a breaking news alert on his phone after his flight to Scotland was delayed. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Following the monarch's passing, her coffin was taken to Edinburgh where it laid in rest and Scots were able to say goodbye and pay their respects. The coffin was then flown to RAF Northolt and taken back to London to lie in state at Westminster Hall. Princess Anne accompanied her mother on every leg of the journey, calling it an 'honour and a privilege'. Birkhall: The King's Secret Sanctuary , airs Saturday 21 June at 7.30pm on Channel 5.
