Sanya Malhotra was seen with Tamil heartthrob Simbu in the video of the Jinguchaa song from Mani Ratnam's Thug Life. and this created a great deal of buzz among fans. In an interview with Vikatan, a Tamil magazine, the Roja filmmaker revealed that Sanya has a 'friendly appearance' in the film and not a full-fledged role.
He further stated that she was chosen for the part as Thug Life is partly set in Delhi.
'They also wanted a North Indian face as the Thug Life story partly happens in Delhi. So they need a North Indian face for North Indian flavour as I wanted to keep the regional authenticity. We wanted that Delhi flavour. That's why we went with her,' he added.
Mani Ratnam also said that Sanya is a 'cool person' to work with.

Thug Life is a gangster drama that features Kamal Haasan in the lead role. The story centres on a powerful who is forced to fight against the very empire/dynasty he once built. Thug Life is KH's second film with Mani Ratnam after Nayakan. It also features Trisha, Simbu, and Ali Fazal in key roles.
Thug Life will hit the screens on June 5.

Cycling 70 Km a Day with Dreams in His Pocket The actor also reminisced about his early training days at Shri Ram Centre in Delhi, where he began studying acting at age 18. Unaware of how to get a subsidized student bus pass, Rajkummar cycled 70 km daily to attend classes. To stay motivated, he would listen to inspirational songs like Lakshya Ko Har Haal Mein Pana Hai and Papa Kehte Hain on his walkman. 'It sounds filmy now,' he said, 'but it used to be a lot of fun.' First Salary at Age 13 In another candid moment, Rajkummar recalled how he earned ₹300 tutoring a young girl when he was in the 8th standard, his first salary, which he used to buy groceries for his family.
