In the unpredictable world of Bollywood, fame is always fleeting. While one picture can turn an actor into an overnight star, continuous failures at the box office can also jeopardize careers. But sometimes it's not the star but often the people behind the camera who find themselves at the centre of controversy due to multiple box office failures. One such similar tale is of
Vashu Bhagnani, who has witnessed repeated disappointment with Akshay Kumar at the box office. Even though Akshay has stayed afloat, the producer Vashu Bhagnani has reportedly hit his rock bottom after back-to-back flops made under his banner.
Actor Akshay Kumar and Vashu Bhagnani have witnessed a hard run in the past with several flops to their name. Recently, Akshay Kumar's latest film, Housefull 5, did decently well, but the film had a massive star cast to share the credit for the success. Before that, Kesari Chapter 2, did moderately well, as did the action movie Sky Force. But neither of them was a hit. Before this, several of his films made under Vashu Bhagnani's Pooja Entertainment failed at the box office, like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (BMCM), Mission Raniganj, and Bell Bottom. Vashu Bhagnani at the centre of controversy
Pooja Entertainment hasn't delivered a major hit in decades. As per the reports, BMCM was made on a whopping budget of Rs. 300 crores; however, it only earned Rs. 100 crores. Many people who worked for BMCM have claimed that they haven't received money for their services yet. Another film, Ganapath, made under the same banner, also turned out to be a big flop, earning less than Rs. 20 crore. Some members claimed they hadn't been paid, and rumours swirled that Bhagnani was facing bankruptcy. Vashu Bhagnani in Real Estate and More
In a recent YouTube interview, Vashu Bhagnani spoke about backlash and revealed the truth about his business ventures. 'I went to London in 2018, and I wondered what to do. So, I bought a building in Mayfair. Then, I made five or six movies there… I'm a developer. I don't believe in making money by investing your own money in projects. I make buildings like I make films… I'm the only person from Bollywood who has set up a studio in London. We have two floors with 60-foot high ceilings. It's a two-acre property, I have a VFX set-up there, I have vanity vans there.'
He further added, 'I can't even speak English properly. When I was going to London, my daughter told me, 'What will you do there? You can't even speak English properly, and you won't understand what they're saying. I said, 'Let me try'. As soon as I landed, I set up a studio there. I made two buildings, and I made six films in five years. I used to make one building and one film, one building and one film. I've made 45 buildings in Mumbai so far, and they've all been sold. But I never sold the IP of my films. I still own my movies…'
Addressing bankruptcy rumours, he said, 'I was very upset by those stories. Imagine that I was actually bankrupt and I'd sold off my building. If I had actually sold it off, it would've been to pay people back, right? What's wrong with that? I'm not a corporate employee, I'm doing business. If I suffer a loss, I will have to make up for it. But people spun this into a negative story. They said I've run away, that I don't have money for food, that I couldn't even afford flight tickets.'
Despite the setbacks in film, Bhagnani is active in his business and his film IPs. His story is a reminder that in Bollywood, the truth is always more than what meets the eye.

After Jagga Jasoos' disastrous box office log, Ranbir Kapoor cuts down fees for Anurag Basu's Rs 130 crore budget film

Ranbir Kapoor and Anurag Basu share a great bond. The duo have worked on two movies- Barfi and Jagga Jasoos. While their maiden project together was a success and was even sent to the Academy Awards from India, the latter couldn't lure the audience into cinemas and ended up being a box-office failure. Basu, who is currently on a promotional spree for his latest movie, Metro…In Dino has opened up about the failure of Jagga Jasoos. Anurag Basu states that all his movies recover their budget In a recent chat with Galatta Plus, Anurag Basu noted that all his films have been financially successful. That's the first thing he assures the producer whenever starting a new project. Although the movie might not have performed well at the box office, they recovered their production costs from non-theatrical deals and subsidies. Talking about the same, Anurag Basu said, "It (budget) is always covered. None of my producers will complain about that. So, I know this is the budget I should play with. Metro is made on a modest budget because I knew this is an ensemble cast, no big stars. That I am very conscious about. And the industry is very ruthless". Anurag Basu reveals how he and Ranbir Kapoor slashed their fees after Jagga Jasoos' failure Anurag Basu went on to reveal that he and Ranbir Kapoor had slashed their fees so that producers wouldn't bear the loss for the box office failure of Jagga Jasoos. "Jagga didn't make a lot of money, but we were just quite there. Ranbir took less money. He cut down his fees, I cut down my fees—all of us. Because we were passionate about the project, we were not running behind money. But we made sure that we cut down on our fees so that the producer doesn't suffer. Because it was our vision, our project," Basu concluded. For the unversed, Jagga Jasoos was mounted on a big budget of Rs 131 crore. It opened with just Rs 8.21 crore and ended its theatrical run with a net of Rs 52.60 crore at the Indian box office. The Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer was a big box-office disaster. Although it was planned as a trilogy, the plans never continued further, as the first movie itself bombed. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

Image credits: Pinterest If there's one fictional character that has made every man and woman want to become a cooking queen or maybe just get a chance to gorge on some delicious recipes, it's definitely Monica Geller from Friends. The perfectionist who many related to, the one who wanted to fall in love, the mother of the group and definitely the feeder of the group too- Monica was one character that we along with Chandler Bing couldn't help but fall in love with. If you have been on a rewatching spree or want to recreate some of those unique recipes she made in the show, below are five easy recipes from Monica Geller's kitchen that you can follow. Candy from 'The One With All the Candy' Image credits: Pinterest Many describe Monica's famous candies as a perfect combination of caramel and chocolate and an easy recipe to make. Combine 60 g of water, 155 g of light corn syrup and 400 g of granulated sugar in a cooking pan and cook till it reaches 320 degrees Fahrenheit. Now, shut off the heat and start streaming in the mixture with 230 g of butter mixed with 230 g of cream. Cook the mixture again up to 240-245 degrees Fahrenheit. Let it cool down for at least six hours in a shaped pan covered with parchment paper and then cut the caramel into candy shapes. Now, temper some chocolate and dip the caramel candies in it. Don't forget to top off the candies with little flakes of salt. Mac and Cheese from 'The One with Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E.' Image credits: Pinterest You need 1/4 cup of butter, 2 cups of cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup of bread crumbs, 1/2 cup of parmesan cheese, 3 oz of elbow macaroni, 3 cups of milk, some paprika and 2 1/2 tbsp flour. In a pan, add the butter, flour and milk and stir. Then add the cheddar and parmesan cheese and cook until it thickens into a sauce. In a baking pan add the macaroni and pour the sauce over it and top it all off with a sprinkling of bread crumbs and paprika. Bake at 35o degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes and enjoy! Break-up Jam from 'The One With The Jam' Image credits: Pinterest Who knew the best way to get over a break-up was to make some delicious jam? Monica! Take 2lbs of strawberries, 4 cups of white sugar, and 1/4 cup of lemon juice. Mash the strawberries and cook them in a pan with white sugar and lemon juice and stir and boil until 220 degrees Fahrenheit. Let the mixture cool, transfer it into jars and refrigerate. Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies from 'The One with the Cooking Class' Image credits: YouTube/Friends Chop 140g salted butter and heat it in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Once it turns brown and smells nutty, transfer it into a bowl and let it cool for 20-30 minutes. Add 215g of all-purpose flour to a bowl, add 1/2 tbsp of baking soda, mix and set aside. Add 145g brown sugar and 65g caster sugar to the cooled-down brown butter and mix till combined. Add 1 large egg and 1 tbsp milk to the mix. Now add the flour and mix. Add some chopped chocolate to the cookie dough and refrigerate for 1.5 hours. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes. Lasagna from 'The One with the Dozen Lasagnas' Image credits: Pinterest Of course, we saved the best for last. If you had told Monica to make vegetarian lasagnas then she would have made them, but for now, you need to try this not-so-vegetarian recipe. Take 1lb of ground beef, add 4 cups of marinara sauce and mix. In another bowl take 4 cups whole milk ricotta cheese, 2 cups of parmesan cheese, 1 tbsp of parsley, 1/4th cup basil, 1 tsp of kosher salt,1/2 tbsp black pepper, 2 tbsp olive oil, and mix. Take a lasagne baking pan and add some beef sauce into it and layer with cooked lasagne noodles, layer this with the cheese mix and some shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Repeat this until both the bowls are finished and then bake the lasagne at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 25-30 minutes. Next, broil it for 1-2 minutes and serve.

What happened when Katrina Kaif met her ‘look-alike' at the Race movie premiere? Actress Zareen Khan shares a video

Long before Zareen Khan made her Bollywood debut alongside Salman Khan in Veer in 2010, she was just another fan in the crowd—one with a dream and a striking resemblance to a certain A-list star. In a resurfaced video from 2008, a starstruck Zareen is seen meeting Katrina Kaif at the premiere of Race, eagerly collecting her autograph with a wide, disbelieving grin. Now, years later, Zareen has shared that moment on Instagram, pulling fans into a time capsule of fangirl energy, quiet tension, and what now feels like cinematic foreshadowing. Zareen captioned the clip with fondness, calling it a 'memory that's still so fresh.' She recalled how a friend got her passes to the premiere, where she got to witness Bollywood up close for the first time. Back then, she never imagined she'd one day enter the same industry—or be constantly compared to the very woman signing her autograph that night. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Zareen Khan 🦄🌈✨👼🏻 (@zareenkhan) But it's not just Zareen's excitement that caught attention—fans have zeroed in on Katrina Kaif's body language in the clip. While Zareen radiates joy, Katrina appears distant, barely acknowledging the fan in front of her. Viewers have since speculated whether Katrina sensed something more than just a familiar face in the crowd. Was it a coincidence—or did she already know about the newcomer rumoured to be Salman Khan's next launch, a woman often dubbed her doppelganger? Though no direct interaction beyond the autograph occurred, that night became symbolic in hindsight. Two years later, Zareen entered the industry, often referred to in headlines as Katrina's lookalike. Her performances in Housefull 2, Hate Story 3, and 1921 helped her carve her own path, while her stint in Punjabi cinema added another layer to her identity beyond the comparisons.
