Geri Halliwell's fresh blow after husband Christian Horner gets the sack
Geri Halliwell-Horner is facing more than the fall-out from her other-half's Formula 1 sacking – the Spice Girl's book company is in debt to the tune of £1million. The star, 51, found herself at the centre of a storm this week when husband Christian Horner was suddenly fired by Red Bull Racing, where he was team principal.
Sources close to Geri said she 'wasn't happy about the attention'. And it has emerged she is facing her own work troubles, as new accounts for her business reveal it is in the red. Recently filed documents show the firm, Falcon Queen Productions, had sunk a further £750,000 in the year ending August 2024, compared to a £276,000 deficit the previous year.
It had assets of £72,000, but with creditors of more than £1.1m, is now running at a loss of just over £1m. Geri set up the firm in 2021 and, two years later, launched her debut novel, Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen. In April this year she released a second title, Rose Frost: Ice On Fire.
She has no immediate financial worries as her main company, Won-derful Productions, earned £2.16m in the 12 months to August last year. And she and Christian are worth a combined £70m.
The former F1 boss, also 51, was dismissed 17 months after he was accused of sexual harassment and coercive, controlling behaviour by a female employee at Red Bull. He was later cleared of the allegations which he always denied.
Geri has previously said she's taking inspiration for tech mogul Steve Jobs as she reinvents herself after her Spice Girls heyday. Ginger Spice says is looking to bigwigs like the Apple founder and Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg when it comes to her outfits.
Vowing to only wear white now, it's a marked difference from her colourful pop persona. 'I went through a period when I was in my 20s wearing black all the time,' Geri mused. 'But I've gone through different theories. I looked at a lot of guys, and they always wear the same thing. Whether it's Steve Jobs, Facebook guy, you know, they all wear the same thing, like a uniform. I thought, well, actually, how much time do you use getting ready? That was one thing, and everything matches. It keeps things simple.'
The singer had undergone a transformation since her pop days, now positioning herself in high society as the wife of former Red Bull CEO Christian. She's no longer party girl, more lady of the manor. Recalling her rise to stardom, it wasn't all champagne and caviar, says Geri, as she reminds us of her working class roots.
'Stopping off at service stations and having sausage rolls,' she remembered about her early girlband days in the 90s on the Table Manner podcast. 'I really remember having chips and scraps, which are from up north, the little, you know, the bottom ends, which I really do love chips. I have to say, that is my other favourite food.'

Teen girl suffers horror head injury after 'freak accident' on fairground ride
Police confirmed they are liaising with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) following the incident on Saturday night. A teenage girl has been left with potentially life-changing head injuries after her hair became trapped on a ride at a popular fair. The 18-year-old was rushed to hospital following the incident at the Netley Marsh Steam and Craft Show around 10.50pm on Saturday, reports the Mirror. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed they are liaising with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as part of the investigation. A woman who was at the scene said she helped give first aid to the stricken teen as panic broke out. She said: 'One of the girl's friends came down and said how serious it was and some of us offered assistance. It's very shocking it could happen on a fairground ride that young children go on. This must never happen again." Fair owner Charles Cole said he 'sympathises' with the girl and her family and revealed her hair became trapped on the Fun House walk-on attraction. The ride has been shut down while police and safety inspectors investigate.

A POPULAR Christmas chocolate has been spotted at a major supermarket, despite the big day being five months away. Eagle-eyed shoppers have spotted pouches of Quality Street chocolates on the shelves in Asda. 1 Shoppers have raced to get their hands on Quality Street Favourites pouches The pouches of Quality Street Favourites cost £3.50 for a 334g bag. Every pouch contains just a few flavours of Quality Street chocolate, helping to avoid leaving unwanted sweets at the bottom of your tin. Among the flavours on offer are Mixed Cremes and a Golden Selection. Shoppers have taken to social media to voice their excitement at spotting the popular treats. One person took to Facebook to share the news and said: 'Things are getting festive at Asda.' A second person commented and said: 'I love christmas so it's perfect, just waiting for the Christmas decorations in The Range.' While a third added: 'Might try and get some of these for our pick n mix table xx.' But not everyone was excited about spotting Christmas treats in stores so early in the year. One disgruntled person said: 'In July??' While another added: 'Oh crikey.' It's not the only Quality Street treat on offer in Asda. The milk and white chocolate bar contains Christmas tree-shaped pieces and is described as 'perfect for a stocking filler or a little treat at Christmas time' by Cadbury. It costs £1.64 for a 100g bar. The supermarket is also selling Terry's Chocolate Orange Segsations, which contain five delicious flavours. The bags weigh 360g and cost £3.50. More chocolate news The Quality Street bar isn't the only popular treat to return to supermarkets. Mars recently brought back its White Chocolate Maltesers after 11 years off shelves. Plus more chocolates are launching in supermarkets. Cadbury has released a new Dairy Milk Iced Latte flavour in the UK. The bar combines classic Dairy Milk chocolate with a creamy coffee filling and crunchy biscuit pieces.
