The Pokémon Company has announced the next expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket, and it's set to launch next week in the app.
The new expansion is called Extradimensional Crisis, and it's a themed booster pack, meaning it's limited to a single booster pack – rather than two like full expansions – and is likely to add around 100-150 cards to the game. Extradimensional Crisis will add Ultra Beast Pokémon cards to Pokémon TCG Pocket, strange creatures from another dimension that have a special designation in the TCG.

A number of Ultra Beast cards were revealed in a press release accompanying the announcement, including some Pokémon ex cards, regular cards designated as an Ultra Beast card, and even full art variants of the Pokémon. Other related cards, like Type: Null and Pokémon ex versions of Guardian Pokémon like Tapu Koko, were also revealed to be coming to the game.
More Trainer cards are coming in the new set, too, with a Lusamine card revealed in the expansion's trailer. It's likely that these cards will interact and engage with Ultra Beast cards, allowing greater flexibility than Trainer cards that require specific types or even specific Pokémon to be effective. The Lusamine card, for example, allows you to take two random energy from your discard pile and add it to an Ultra Beast card on your field.
The expansion comes after the introduction of Alolan Pokémon in the last full TCG Pocket set, which was titled Celestial Guardians and focused on Pokémon and trainers introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon. Ultra Beasts were also introduced in those games, so it seems as if Extradimensional Crisis acts as further expansion of the Celestial Guardians set.
The Extradimensional Crisis expansion will be released in Pokémon TCG Pocket on May 29, 2025. A number of events themed around the expansion will also be added to the game following its introduction, including solo battle events, Wonder Pick events, and Mass Outbreak events:

Man Takes Bite of Pizza, Horror When He Sees What's Inside: 'Wanted to Gag'

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A man was left "horrified" after noticing that there was something very wrong with the slice of pizza he was eating and took to social media to share his experience. The disgusted diner, who is based in the United Kingdom and requested that we omit his name from the story, told Newsweek: "I'd taken the bite and when I tried to chew it [I] knew something was wrong, spat it out and saw it." When it comes to our favorite foods, few things compare to a good pizza. A 2023 Harris Poll of 2,000 U.S. adults saw pizza named as America's most popular food, with 21 percent of respondents ranking it top, ahead of steak (16 percent) and hamburgers (13 percent). Maybe that's why there was such a vociferous response when a picture showcasing the remnants of this particular pizza slice was posted to Reddit by the diner under the handle u/Pancakeferret. "Bought pizza from Asda and thought the crust was a bit chewy," he wrote, alongside a picture of the pizza, with an unidentified blue material protruding from the crust. "I thought it was gum at first but looks like a hairnet?" The post blew up, earning over 11,000 upvotes and many comments from similarly unimpressed pizza lovers. "Well that's super nasty," one Reddit user wrote while another added: "I probably wouldn't eat there again." According to the Reddit user, who will be referred to by the moniker David for the remainder of this story, this unsettling discovery was made on July 16. He was at home that day and about to tuck in to an oven pizza purchased from the Asda supermarket in Clayton Green, Chorley. "I was initially confused when I couldn't chew through the pizza, then horrified when it felt like chewing gum," David said. "I feared the worst and I just wanted to gag when I saw what it was. It looks like either an unused hairnet, beard snood or a bit of cloth." A slice of pizza with an unwanted surprise. A slice of pizza with an unwanted surprise. Reddit/u/Pancakeferret. David isn't entirely sure how something like this happened. "I assume it fell in the dough when making it and didn't notice," he said. "The original response email referenced a yoghurt so clearly just a copy and paste response." David called Asda out on the error, and it has since been rectified. An Asda spokesperson told Newsweek: "We've apologised the service he has received, which falls short of the standards we expect, and have offered him a gesture of goodwill. While we've not received any similar complaints about this product, we've return it so we can investigate this with our supplier to understand how this happened." Asda in the U.K. was previously a wholly owned subsidiary of Walmart, until it was acquired by the Issa brothers and TDR Capital in 2020. Walmart retains a 10 percent minority stake. Ultimately, David hopes the episode brings about a change and that Asda will learn to "actually take complaints seriously." "In this instance that could have a serious choking hazard," he said.

'Spider-Man 4' Confirms Return of Fan-Favorite MCU Hero and Villain

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors Just days after it was announced that "Spider-Man 4," aka "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," was bringing Jon Bernthal in as the Punisher. The new Tom Holland-led film is officially bringing back a fan-favorite MCU hero and villain. More news: John Krasinski Announces "A Quiet Place 3' Release Date Per a report from The Hollywood Reporter, it is confirmed that the new "Spider-Man" sequel will bring back Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. That isn't the only addition, as Michael Mando will also return to the fold to portray Scorpion. It will be interesting how the plot is set up, considering Spider-Man asked Doctor Strange to make everyone forget that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. This includes MJ, Ned, and presumably the rest of the heroes left in the MCU. Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Sony owns the rights to the Marvel character. Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Marvel More news: Disney Sets Date for Original 'Star Wars' 50th Anniversary Re-Release It would be believed that Spider-Man might have a run-in with Dr. Bruce Banner, and would hopefully not have to fight The Hulk in the process. "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was the last film that Holland appeared in as the Web Slinger and was easily the most brazen. Not only did Doctor Strange make an important appearance and memory wipe, but the comic-loving world got to see the return of Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, but Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprised their roles as Peter Parker as well. Marvel has waited a long time to start putting together the next chapter in the Holland-led universe, and it is believed that this may be the final one. Holland has spoken publicly about his desire to move away from the role entirely. There have been plenty of rumors regarding Marvel potentially moving on to feature Miles Morales in the role of Spider-Man, but recent reports indicated that MCU leader Kevin Feige has instructed everyone to not touch Morales until the "Spider-Verse" movies wrap up. Morales has become a mainstay and fan-favorite fixture in comics as Spider-Man, becoming even more popular due to the Sony video games that feature him in a prominent role, and the previously mentioned "Spider-Verse" animated films. It would be great to see him emerge in live-action, but that is likely not to happen for a few years. Whatever the case may be, Marvel has hit home runs with the current Spider-Man films, and the same should be expected from the fourth entry that features Holland. "Spider-Man 4" is due out on July 31, 2026. For more movie news, head to Newsweek Movies.

Dog Can't Hide Her Suspicion Visiting Stranger's House for the First Time

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The day owners bring home their new pet is filled with nothing but excitement and joy, from everyone involved, but one dog showed how skeptical the animals might be of strangers. Reddit user ChrisCrashOut shared on the subreddit channel r/dogpictures earlier this week how his relationship with his new pup started a bit rocky. From the moment he brought her into the car and began the drive home, she showed her skepticism. In the picture, the tiny dog sat on his lap. She first looked up at him with big, round eyes that seemed hopeful for what this new adventure would bring. However, red flags began to rise; who was this human? Squinting her eyes, she looked into his soul, trying to get a read on what his intentions were with her. Little did she know, his only plan was to bring her into her forever home. The owner didn't seem to mind the dog's reservations. He called it a "fair reaction" in the caption because, well, she didn't know him, realizing the potential stranger danger. Plus, she was going to an unfamiliar home. Screenshots from a July 27 Reddit post of a dog sitting in her new owner's lap, giving him a side eye because he's a stranger. Screenshots from a July 27 Reddit post of a dog sitting in her new owner's lap, giving him a side eye because he's a stranger. ChrisCrashOut/Reddit Her hesitations continued once they arrived home, as she was greeted by unfamiliar dogs in an unfamiliar environment and unfamiliar smells. The entire day became overwhelming. "My other two dogs were very excited to meet her, but she was tired and slept all day," he told Newsweek via Reddit. But after a good night's rest, she knew there was nothing to worry about while being with this so-called stranger. It finally clicked for her: she was home. "By the next day, she was already playing/bullying my other two grown dogs and felt integrated into her new family," he said. What Do the Comments Say? The Reddit post quickly melted viewers' hearts, bringing in 643 upvotes and 17 comments as of Friday. They fell in love with her suspicious reaction and kept calling her adorable. "Bless her little face. I hope she settles fast and you have a peaceful night," commented one person. Another jokingly wrote what the dog was likely thinking: "I mean, you seem nice, but we'll see what kinds of foods and such await. A third said: "How dare you! Unacceptable!" Do you have funny and adorable videos or pictures of your pet you want to share? Send them to life@ with some details about your best friend, and they could appear in our Pet of the Week lineup.
