Nebraska to host rising running back
Nebraska Football is set to get a visit from 2026 running back Jamal Rule. He will visit Nebraska on April 29. He put out a list of his visits earlier this week. The running back measures in at six feet, 205 pounds.
Rule is not ranked in the 247Sports rankings, but his stock is rising. He has 12 offers in total. North Carolina State, Nebraska, and Wisconsin appear to be the three teams most interested in him at this time. On the Nebraska front, he is being recruited by EJ Barthel.
The running back had a tremendous season in 2024, as he really was able to establish his dominance. He recorded 1,236 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns in seven games. He had 100-plus rushing yards in each of those seven games and averaged 176.6 yards per contest, according to statistics from Maxpreps.com.
Currently, the 2026 Nebraska football recruiting class ranks 44th overall nationally with three commitments per the 247Sports Team Rankings.
Rule is undoubtedly a running back whose profile continues to rise. The Huskers need to continue to add depth at the position for the future, and getting a player of Rule's caliber on campus is a step in the right direction.

Brewers to promote hard-throwing starter Jacob Misiorowski: Reports
Fresh off a start in which he threw 14 pitches over 100 mph, hard-throwing Milwaukee Brewers pitching prospect Jacob Misiorowski will be making his major-league debut on Thursday, according to various reports. Misiorowski, who ranked No. 87 in The Athletic's Keith Law's preseason top-100 prospect list, has a 2.13 ERA in 63 1/3 innings for Triple-A Nashville this season. He is the Brewers' top pitching prospect. Advertisement Misiorowski, 23, was a Brewers' second-round pick (No. 63) in the 2022 MLB Draft out of Crowder Junior College in Missouri. The 6-foot-7 right-hander has been one of the hardest throwing starters in minor-league baseball since turning pro. In his last start for the Sounds, Misiorowski threw 68 pitches, topping out at 101.5 mph. His fastball averaged 99.7 mph in that start and the slowest four-seamer he threw was clocked at 97.7. His fastball has been measured as high as 103 mph at various points this season. Misiorowski also throws a curveball, a changeup and a slider. The stuff has always been premium and with a 3.04 ERA in 233 2/3 career minor-league innings, Misiorowski has gotten good results in the minor leagues. But, like many hard-throwers, he's struggled badly with command at times, which has limited his ceiling as a starter. Last season at Double A and Triple A, he walked 60 in 97 1/3 innings and this season he has 31 walks in 63 1/3 innings. He's mostly been a starter but does have some experience relieving. Law says Misiorowski's arsenal is special but there are significant concerns about his mechanics and ability to command his pitches. 'Misiorowski has some of the best pure stuff of any pitcher in the minors, with a fastball that frequently touches 100 and has some ride up top and two breaking balls with high spin rates, with the slower one — you can call it a curveball, but the velocity is almost unheard of for that pitch — the more effective of the two. 'His mechanics are violent and he's never had anything approaching average command; for him to get there, he'd need to tone down the delivery, and that might take away from what makes his pitches so special. He's posted a lower walk rate this year but he's not actually throwing the ball in the zone any more often than he did in 2024. There just aren't long-term starters in the big leagues who pitch like he does; either he's an extreme outlier or he's going to end up in the bullpen, where he could be the inheritor of the throne previously occupied by Josh Hader and Devin Williams.' Advertisement Though Misiorowski's future could lie in the bullpen, he will make his major-league debut in the rotation. He will get the start on Thursday against the Cardinals in a key game for Milwaukee, which currently sits 1 1/2 games behind St. Louis for second place in the National League Central. The Brewers are three games out of the third wild-card spot currently. The Brewers rotation is currently fifth in baseball with a 3.35 ERA. Overall, the Brewers staff ranks 16th with a 3.87 ERA. Injuries have impacted the staff, with Nestor Cortes, Robert Gasser, Connor Thomas and Brandon Woodruff all currently on the injured list.

Nebraska makes strong impression on key tight end target Nebraska football made a strong impression on class of 2026 three-star tight end Luke Sorensen over the weekend. He expressed his excitement (subscription required) with the program to On3's Chad Simmons on Sunday. Sorensen is the 35th overall tight end in the 2026 class and the 60th overall player in his class from the state of California, according to the On3 recruiting rankings. He has a busy visit schedule ahead, as he is scheduled to visit the Penn State Nittany Lions on June 13 and is expected to announce his commitment on June 20. In the meantime, he was very impressed with how things went down in Lincoln, as he was part of one of the biggest visit weekends of the summer. "I had an awesome time, and it will be hard to top,' Sorensen said. The tight end caught 15 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns last season for Servite High School in California, per statistics from Sorensen is one of Nebraska's top tight end targets in this class. Being able to land him would immediately strengthen the tight end position and give the program additional depth. Things appear to be trending in the right direction as he received a Crystal Ball prediction to the Huskers from Steve Wiltfong. It may prove to be a bit of a challenge with the Nittany Lions getting the final visit. However, there is no doubt Nebraska put their best foot forward here. MSU football predicted to land commitment from 3-star LB Charles Belser Michigan State football is trending for a three-star linebacker prospect from Philadelphia. Charles Belser of Philadelphia took an official visit this past weekend, and it apparently went so well that the Spartans are now the projected favorite to land his commitment. Michigan State picked up a 247Sports' crystal ball prediction in their favor for Belser on Tuesday morning. Belser is a three-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 87 on 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 64 linebacker and No. 807 overall prospect in 247Sports' composite rankings for the 2026 class. Michigan State is one of nearly 15 schools to show interest in Belser by extending him an offer. Some of the other notable schools to offer Belser includes UCF, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Indiana, Pitt, Syracuse, UCLA and Duke. There is no known commitment date for Belser so we will need to keep our eyes peeled for any news surrounding his recruitment. I wouldn't be surprised if an announcement comes out shortly should he in fact elect to become a future Spartan.
