She has flown out to Dallas today to start filming for the drama series.
A source said: 'Sacha is very religious so this part means the absolute world to her as the series tells the story of Jesus.
'She auditioned for the role and producers fell in love with her.
'It could make her a huge star. Her parents are absolutely delighted.'

The Sun has contacted a rep for Sacha for comment.
The historical drama depicts Jesus' life through ordinary people - such as his disciples and the government.
Sacha was a fan favourite on Married At First Sight, but split with Ross at the end of the series.
They tied the knot at the start of MAFS' 2024 series when sparks flew and everything seemed perfect between the pair.

The couple went from strength to strength, with them dubbed as one of the strongest couples early on in the series.
Not everything progressed as well as it could for the couple when cracks began to show and Ross' temper began to flare.

Sacha was keen to move to Manchester to be with Ross, with her even open to leaving her life in Birmingham behind.
Despite their vow renewal ceremony ending in married bliss, it was revealed the couple split two weeks after filming wrapped.

A source at the time told MailOnline: "Sacha had an incredible experience filming Married At First Sight UK and she truly thought her marriage with Ross would work.
"She moved to Manchester to be with him but after just two weeks he went cold and ended their romance for good."
Earlier this year, Sacha addressed comments on her "new boyfriend" following the relationship breakdown on the show.
It came after she posted a series of images to mark her dad's birthday.

Married At First Sight viewers will be familiar with her West Midlands-based parents Bryn and Alison, who gave their take on her marriage to Ross.
Yet while E4 fans will recognise the duo on the snaps, a mystery male is seen at the dining table at Willow, in Sutton Coldfield, too.
One fan - who saw Sacha break down on-screen after her renewal vows with Ross, before the dad of one dumped her - put two and two together to link the blonde influencer with the male diner.
This follower commented: "Aw glad you found love x"

Fans slam Mitchell and Webb's 'dated' new Channel 4 show
The new series, titled Mitchell And Webb Are Not Helping, will see the two comedians combine forces with an ensemble cast of next generation writers and performers, including Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Lara Ricote, Stevie Martin and Krystal Evans. In the teaser posted by David on social media, the clip shows a scene of airport security chaos, including Robert, who plays quite an unusual security staff member. Alongside the video, David wrote: ''Mitchell And Webb Are Not Helping', a new sketch show featuring @arobertwebb, @5teviem, @kfRedhot, @lararicote, Krystal Evans and me, starts NEXT MONTH on @Channel4! Here's a little taster to get you in the holiday mood.' "Mitchell And Webb Are Not Helping", a new sketch show featuring @arobertwebb, @5teviem, @kfRedhot, @lararicote, Krystal Evans and me, starts NEXT MONTH on @Channel4! Here's a little taster to get you in the holiday mood. But so far, it's received a mixed response from viewers and Mitchell and Webb's loyal audience, with many criticising it as 'a pretty unfunny sketch'. As someone wrote on the Reddit page r/MitchellAndWebb: 'Absolutely love these two but I hope the show is better than this sketch.' Another wrote: 'I hate to say it but I didn't even smirk. More than anything, it just felt very very dated. Hopefully it's a blip but it worries me if this is the clip they have chosen to preview the series.' This person put: 'Ngl that was a pretty unfunny sketch. I don't go travelling a lot so maybe I don't get it that much, but if that's the sketch they're leading with…yikes.' A fan also commented: 'I'll be fair and say I did laugh at a couple of jokes in it, but it also felt very dated in terms of subject matter. Not saying every sketch has to be cutting edge, but it's weird to promote the show with a sketch that's basically the same as one that plenty of online sketch comedians have done before.' Others stated they think this particular scene of the new show is 'a bit too Come Fly With Me'. One account said: 'This sketch was a bit too Come Fly With Me for my liking, but I'm going to reserve judgement until we get a full episode.' A user also agreed: 'Are they doing Come Fly with Me?' However, there was also a lot of praise for David and Robert's latest creation, as this viewer chimed in: 'I don't care if it's terrible. It's so nice to see these faces again.' I'm looking forward to seeing what they've come up with though!' An eager fan said: 'Damn, I didn't know there was a new Mitchell and Webb series! Can't wait.' Meanwhile, this person joined in: 'It's nice to see sketch comedy returning!' Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping comes to Channel 4 in September.
