Insider Reveals Dakota Johnson & Chris Martin's Biggest 'Issues' That Led to Their Breakup
'It feels final this time,' a source told the media outlet.
But record scratch, the Coldplay singer has fans questioning every claim that they are no longer together after his concert at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on June 6. A Deuxmoi Instagram clip showed Martin sharing some love to his ex (not ex?) in a subtle way.
'Thank you so much, everybody. Be kind to yourself, be kind to each other,' he said to the crowd at the end of the concert. 'Don't forget to see Materialists! We love you!'
Martin is savvy enough to know that his message urging fans to see Johnson's upcoming movie would carry far and wide over social media. Deuxmoi added in the caption that the person who submitted the video stated emphatically, ' ‼️THEY'RE NOT BROKEN UP‼️'
Johnson's supporters were not amused by his move, though; they blamed him for the inconsistent nature of their romance.
'This relationship was dragging Dakota down first and foremost, and Chris was doing what he loved to the detriment of Dakota's career. It's time for her to go her own way and not follow him on tour. Run Dakota,' one social media account said in the comments.
Another Johnson fan added, 'Her team leaked it to People first. They are done. For the past 8 years, they get together and break up and then repeat it. That is not a healthy relationship.'
Still, some followers gave Martin the benefit of the doubt noting, 'You can break up with someone and still be supportive. Look at him and GP [Gwyneth Paltrow].'
Martin and Johnson's career and life timeline seemed to be an issue, according to an insider who spoke to The Sun.
'They really tried to work through their issues, but the age gap was often a problem, and she'd expressed that she may want children in the future, whereas Chris is kind of done with that part of his life, but they discussed it,' they explained of the couple's 13-year age gap. 'They made some beautiful memories as a family, and it'll be hard for both of them to move on after such a long relationship, but they will do it.'
It's hard to know whether Martin's move was just a friendly gesture or a way to reconcile with his reported ex. But there's one thing for certain — Martin and Johnson will keep fans guessing all the way to the end.Best of SheKnows

Billy Bob Thornton Reflects on Reuniting with 'Hero' Sam Elliott for ‘Landman'

Filming for Landman Season 2 is well underway, and Billy Bob Thornton can hardly contain his excitement, not just for the plot, but who he gets to work with in the latest installment of the fan-favorite Taylor Sheridan series. In a May 2025 interview with Gold Derby, Billy Bob, who plays Tommy Norris on the show, revealed that he hopes to be working with Taylor and co. for the foreseeable future. "[Landman] is a show I'd like to work on for a while; I told Taylor, I said 'As long as you want me around, I'm here for this,'' he shares. 'I really love the show. I love doing it, I love playing this character, and I love the people I work with. Not only the cast, but the crew also is just stellar.' One Season 2 castmate, in particular, stands out. '[Sam Elliott] has always been a mentor and a hero of mine,' Billy Bob said in the interview. The two have previously shared the screen in 1883 and Tombstone. 'I love the guy, we have a real special relationship in real life… It's so good to see him; he lights my day up.' News of Sam joining the Landman Season 2 cast broke in April 2025, with many fans thrilled for the addition. 'Ooohhh I was hoping for another season and Sam just made me even more excited,' one fan commented on the show's Instagram reveal. 'The patch just leveled up,' someone else wrote. 'Perfect casting,' another fan concluded. Meanwhile, Ali Larter, who plays Angela Norris on the show, also appears to be happy with her newest castmate. 'Just three crows cackling,' she captioned a photo of herself with Sam and Michelle Randolph (Ainsley Norris). Again, fans couldn't contain their excitement over Sam's involvement in Season 2—even though his exact role remains unknown. 'Taking an already great show and making it exponentially better by adding Sam Elliott,' one fan commented. 'How epic! Sam Elliott will fit in like a glove on and off screen with Landman,' someone else wrote. 'Sam Elliott is in [the] cast! This show only gets better,' another fan exclaimed. As it currently stands, Landman Season 2 is set to premiere in November on Paramount+. In the meantime, we hope for plenty more BTS snaps of the cast. Chris Martin gives shoutout for ex Dakota Johnson's new film

Chris Martin showed his support for ex Dakota Johnson during a weekend Coldplay concert in Las Vegas. A concertgoer shared footage of the moment on TikTok, which has since garnered more than a million views. In the clip, Martin can be seen at the end of the show, thanking the huge crowd. "Thank you, everybody! Be kind to each other!" Martin said into the mic. He then added, "Don't forget to go see Materialists!" The Clocks singer was referring to the new romantic comedy starring Johnson. In Materialists, which premieres this week, she plays a New York City matchmaker who becomes torn between a new potential love, played by Pedro Pascal and a messy ex, played by Chris Evans. On 4 June, multiple sources reported that Martin and Johnson had ended their nearly eight-year relationship. The pair, who were first romantically linked in 2017, were photographed together for the last time in May, when they stepped out in Malibu, California. Before that, in January, the pair held hands in India, where Martin was touring with his band. People magazine reported that Martin's ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, plans to stay close to Johnson, revealing that they "developed a close friendship" over the years, and that the Goop founder "fully intends on maintaining that bond".
