Barcelona star to sit out Vissel Kobe clash
That's according to Blaugrana insider Gerard Romero, who points towards Marc Bernal as the player in question.
Youngster Bernal is for his part of course fresh off a challenging last 12 months.
After establishing himself as a starting figure in Hansi Flick's Barcelona midfield early last season, an untimely ACL injury saw the 18-year-old ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.
Bernal has since managed a return to the grass in training, taking part in elements of group training with his teammates.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the Spaniard is evidently not yet considered ready for competitive action.
As per a report from Jijantes journalist Gerard Romero:
'For tomorrow, everyone is available except Marc Bernal to play against Vissel Kobe.'

Liverpool have already signed a striker this summer and could well drop the interest in Isak soon, something that will reopen the door to Rodrygo's arrival. At this point, however, the move looks unlikely. The Brazilian phenom has also received interest from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and other top Premier League clubs. While the former refuse to meet his wage demands, the player does not fancy the latter option from a competitive standpoint. Given the situation, it is not entirely ruled out that Rodrygo ends up staying put at Real Madrid this summer despite all the speculations.

There's so many top-class players here, in every team, and the league just keeps growing every year, so I'm very excited to be back and show myself in it.' Describing what type of player she is she added, 'I would say I'm a hard-working midfielder, able to defend and secure the backline. Barcelona are facing a race against time as they look to not only register the new signings but also get the Camp Nou prepared for September matches. In the midst of all that, the club are facing a financial crunch once again and desperately require fresh sales in order to balance the books and return to the 1:1. Following the departures of Pablo Torre, Pau Victor and Ansu Fati, the next player in line to leave Barcelona this summer is Andreas Christensen. But the Dane, despite being considered a benchwarmer, has appeared hesitant to leave Barcelona. Deco's clear message to Christensen According to Diario SPORT, Barcelona, led by sporting director Deco, has sent a clear message to Christensen: renewal is off the table, and the door is open if he chooses to leave. Deco has already tied down most of the squad to long-term contracts as part of his ongoing renewal project. Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia, and even Frenkie de Jong are set for new extensions next week. The only outlier is Christensen, whose deal expires in 2026, with no extension talks planned.
